외현적 자기애성향 청소년의 대인관계 향상과학습태도 개선을 위한 미술치료 사례연구 = An art therapy case study to improve the interpersonal relationship and study attitudes of an adolescent with overt narcissism

This study investigated the effects of art therapy on improving the interpersonal relationships and study attitudes of adolescents with overt narcissism. The study participant, a 19 year-old male adolescent living in an urban setting, received a 29 session art therapy program from June, 2011 until December, 2011. The therapy ran once a week, each session 100 minutes long.
The participant was administered an overt narcissism scale before and after the therapy, and at a follow-up evaluation. In addition, the participant answered 5 question items of interpersonal relationship and 5 question items of study attitude before and after art therapy. The answers to 5 item questions of interpersonal relationship and 5 item questions of study attitude were compared before and after art therapy to detect any cognitive change. The participant and his parents analyzed and scored the behavior and sentiment of each item before and after art therapy, and at a follow-up evaluation.
Firstly, the study found that art therapy improved the interpersonal relationship of the participant. As the overt narcissism reduced, positive change was found in the participant's sentiment and behavior in his interpersonal relationship. Secondly, the study found that art therapy improved the study attitudes of the participant. As the dysfunctional feelings of narcissism reduced, the participant became active in changing his behavior. These findings suggest that art therapy was effective in improving the interpersonal relationship and study attitudes of the participant.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미술치료가 외현적 자기애성향 청소년의 대인관계 향상과 학습태도 개선에 효과가 있는지를 알아보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상 청소년은 ○○도 K시에 거주하고 있는 외현적 자기애성향 19세 남자 청소년이며 대인관계 향상과 학습태도 개선을 위한 미술치료를 2011년 6월부터 12월까지 7개월 간 총 29회기에 걸쳐 주 1회 100분씩 진행하였다. 연구도구는 외현적 자기애 척도검사를 사전․사후․추후에 실시하였고, 대인관계 5문항과 학습태도 5문항의 인지적 변화과정을 사전․사후에 비교하여 제시하면서 각 문항의 구체적인 정서 및 행동을 본인과 부모가 사전․사후․추후에 평가하여 점수로 나타내고 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료가 외현적 자기애성향 청소년의 대인관계를 향상시킨 것으로 나타났다. 외현적 자기애 성향이 감소되면서 대인관계 문제의 구체적인 정서 및 행동이 긍정적으로 변화하여 향상되는 모습으로 나타났다. 둘째, 미술치료가 외현적 자기애성향 청소년의 학습태도를 개선시킨 것으로 나타났다. 자기애의 역기능적인 감정이 수정되면서 학습태도의 구체적 정서 및 행동이 개선되어 적극적으로 실천하는 모습으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 미술치료가 외현적 자기애성향 청소년의 대인관계 향상과 학습태도를 개선시키는데 효과적으로 적용되었음을 알 수 있었다.
