      • 넙치에 있어서의 유용미생물과 한약재 혼합 첨가제(한방천·어력천)의 첨가가 생리활성에 미치는 효과

        본 연구에서는 생리활성증대에 효과가 있는 한약재와 유용미생물을 동시 첨가한 새로운 사료첨가제가 넙치의 생리활성증대에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 첨가제는 총 사료의 0(대조구), 0.3, 0.6 및 0.9%를 첨가하여 실험하였다. 평균체중 및 비만도는 0.3 및 0.6%실험구에서 대조구에 비해 유의하게 증가하였다. RBC, Ht 및 Hb는 각각 0.6, 0.3 및 0.9% 실험구에서 유의한 증가를 나타내었다. 공기노출에 따른 평균생존시간은 0.6%에서 가장 길게 생존하였고, 0.3과 0.9%실험구가 그 뒤를 따랐다. 림포시스티스의 감염에 따른 사망률은 첨가제의 농도 의존적으로 낮아지는 결과를 나타내었다. 이상의결과로 새로이 개발된 사료첨가제의 사용으로 저산소에 대한 내성의 증대와 질병에 대한 내성의 증대가 이루어 질 것으로 추측된다. The effects of a new fish feed additives utilizing effective microorganisms and herb medicine, which is proved to improve biophysiological vitality, on enhance physiological vitality in olive flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus). The additives was administrated with feed at the following concentration: control, 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9% of total feed. Body weight and condition factor in fed diet containing 0.3 and 0.6% of the additives were significantly increased than that of fish fed control diet(P〈0.05). Red blood cell count, hematocrit and hemoglobin were significantly increased at 0.6, 0.3 and 0.9%. respectively. Survived times of fish when exposed in the air was the longest in the 0.6% group and followed by that in the 0.3 and in the 0.9% groups. The death rate of olive flounder due to lymphocystis significantly decreased by the additives in a concentration dependent way. These results suggest that the dietary additives, Hanbangchun and Olyukchun, increase the tolerance of fish in low oxygen condition and prevention of fish disease.

      • 무지개송어 Oncorhynchus mykiss 치어의 염분 내성에 관한 연구

        이 연구는 부화 후 23, 33, 158일령의 무지개송어 10가족의 전형매군에 있어서의 영분내성에 대하여 조사하였다. 염분내성은 무지개송어의 치어를 해수로 이동시킨 후 체중, 50% 사망시간(DT-(50)) 및 표피상피세포층의 두께를 조사하여 판단하였다. 무지개송어는 16‰의 해수로 옮긴 후 5일간에 걸쳐 26또는 32‰이 되도록 염분농도를 상승시킨다. 실험기간 중의 50% 사망시간은 성장과 함께 높아지는 경향을 나타내었으며, 각 시기의 가족간에 있어서도 유의적인 차이를 나타내었다. 한편 해수로 옮긴 후의 체중의 변화는 5개의 가족에서 일령의 증가에 따라 체중 감소율이 경시적으로 낮아지는 경향을 나타내었고, 그 외의 가족에서는 일령에 따른 일정한 경향이 나타나지 않았다. 표피상피세포층의 두께는 한 가족을 제외한 9개의 가족에서 감소하였다. 이상의 결과로 보아, 본 종에 있어서의 염분내성은 성장과 유전적 요인이 관련하여 나타나는 것으로 추정된다. 따라서 무지개 송어에 있어서 선발육종에 의한 염분내성이 강한 가족의 선발이 유효한 것으로 여겨진다. The seawater tolerance of 10 full-sib families of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) that are 23-, 33- and 158-day-old fry after button-up are described in this study. Body weight, 50% death times (DT_(50)), and epithelial cell layer after transfer into seawater were estimated for the salinity tolerance of rainbow trout fries. Ten full-sib families of rainbow trout were transferred into 1680 seawater, and salinity was increased gradually from 16‰ to 26 or 32‰ over five days. DT_(50) for all experimental period revealed growth-relatedly increasing. DT_(50) was also significant among families with increase in age. In addition, body weights of rainbow trout resulting from transfer into seawater decreased in five families with increase in their ages, but had no effect in the other five families. Thickness of epithelial cell layer decreased in nine families. These results suggest the seawater tolerance is related to the growth and genetic effects in this species. Selective breeding would be effective in improving seawater tolerance in rainbow trout.

        당뇨병환자에서 뇨증 Fibronectin농도의 증가에 관한 연구

        Plasma fibronectin is an α₂-glyoprotein, which is produced by vascular endothelial cells. Raised level of plasma fibronectin has been observed in diabetic patients particularly in the presence of microvascular complications. However, no available data exist about urine level of this glycoprotein in diabetic patients. We measured urine fibronectin level by ELISA methods in 54 diabetic patients who have microvascular comlications or not. The following results were obtained. 1) Urine fibronectin level(㎍/g creatinine) in diabetic group(1740.0±678.0) is increased compaired with those in normal control group(471.0±59.0). but this results were not significantly different among two groups(P>0.05). 2) Urine fibronectin level(㎍/g creatinine) was significantly increased in patients with nephropathy (6188.0±3144.0) compared with those in normal control group(471.0±59.0) and patients without nephropathy(645.0±251.0)(P<0.001). 3) There were a significant correlation between BUN, creatinine, creatinine clearance, 24hr urine total protein and urine fibronectin level in diabetic patients. Our data suggest that urine fibronectin excretion level might be used as a sensitive guide for diabectic nephropathy.

        넙치 (Paralichthys olivaceus)에서의 급격한 수온변화 스트레스에 관한 생리학적 연구

        본 연구에서는 넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus)를 이용하여 급격한 수온 변화 스트레스에 의한 혈액 및 항산화효소 변화에 대하여 조사하였다. 실험구는 각각 10, 15, 20(대조구), 25 및 30℃로 설정하였으며, 측정 시간은 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 및 8시간 후에 측정하였다. 그 결과, 혈액 중에 He-matocrit(Ht), Hemoglobin(Hb) 및 Red blood cell(RBC) 농도는 수온상승 시 증가하였다. 또한, 혈장에서의 코티졸 농도는 20℃와 비교하여 15℃에서는 감소하였고, 10 및 30℃에서는 상승 후 일정시간이 경과함에 따라 회복되었으나, 25℃에서는 장시간 코티졸 농도가 높게 유지되었다. 신장에서의 SOD활성은 25℃에서 높게 나타났으며, 10 및 15℃에서는 그 활성이 감소하였다. 간장에서의 CAT활성은 10℃를 제외한 실험구에서 유의하게 높은 수치를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과들로 볼 때, 25℃의 수온에서 사육하였을 때 스트레스 반응이 높게 장시간 지속되는 것으로 판단된다. 하지만, 장기간 또는 단계별 온도의 영향에 대해서 수행되어져야 할 것으로 생각된다. This study was carried out to investigate variation in blood and antioxidant enzyme activity due to acute changes in water temperature in the flounder(Paralichthys oliuaceus). The groups were cultured at 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30℃, for 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours. The hematocrite(Ht), the hemoglobin(Hb) and red blood cell(RBC) concentrations tend to increase when the water temperature rises. The cortisol concentration of plasma was decreased at 15℃ when the starting temperature was 20℃ and recovered to starting level after increased at 10 and 30℃, but was maintained for a longer period at 25℃. The superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in the kidney increased at high water temperatures(25℃), and decreased at low water temperatures(10 and 15℃), Catalase(CAT) activity in the liver was observed to increased in all groups except at 10℃. Thus, according to our study, when flounder is cultured at 25℃, high stress remained for a longer period. However, further analysis should be performed involving the physiological effects of temperature over longer periods and at different life stages.

      • 한글ㆍ영문 겸용 Word Processor System 개발에 관한 연구

        The design theory and implementation of a word processor system with more efficient processing of Korean and English text are studied. A screen editing method is implemented which is more flexible to handle the texts. Convinient control of the keyboards, cursors moving, texts editing, line marking and block operations are considered. The codes to avoid the complexity and inefficiency which are caused by difference of the code length between the Korean and English characters are reconstructed. File management systems and algorithms for executing the control commands are also studied. As a result, a successful word processor system is designed and implemental which performs a complete screen editing system. The performance of the system includes flexible cursor movement, margin setting, block operations of insertion, deletion and copying any sizes of the line and blocks; and also, the printout routines for size variation of the characters are worked out.

        Immunohistochemical localization of glucose transporter 1 and 3 in the scrotal and abdominal testes of a dog

        Glucose is essential for testicular function; the uptake of carbohydrate-derived glucose by cells is mediated by glucose transporters (GLUTs). In the present study, we investigated the activity of GLUT1 and GLUT3, the two main isoforms of GLUTs found in testes, in the left scrotal and right abdominal testes of a German Shepherd dog. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that GLUT1 immunoreactivity was absent in the scrotal and abdominal testes. In contrast, weak to moderate GLUT3 immunoreactivity was observed in mature spermatocytes as well as spermatids in the scrotal testis. In the abdominal testis, relatively strong GLUT3 immunoreactivity was detected in Leydig cells only and was absent in mature spermatocytes and spermatids. GLUT3 immunoreactivity was significantly decreased in the tubular region of abdominal testis and significantly increased in the extra-tubular (interstitial) region of abdominal testis compared to observations in the each region of scrotal testis, respectively. These results suggest that GLUT3 is the major glucose transporter in the testes and that abdominal testes may increase the uptake of glucose into interstitial areas, leading to an increased risk of developing cancer.

      • Cuprizone affects hypothermia-induced neuroprotection and enhanced neuroblast differentiation in the gerbil hippocampus after ischemia

        In the present study, we investigated the effects of cuprizone on cell death, glial activation, and neuronal plasticity induced by hypothermia after ischemia in gerbils. Food was supplemented with cuprizone at 0.2% ad libitum for eight weeks. At six weeks after diet feeing, gerbils received transient forebrain ischemia with or without hypothermic preconditioning. Cuprizone treatment for 8 weeks increased the number of astrocytes, microglia, and pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in the hippocampus. In addition, cuprizone treatment significantly decreased the number of proliferating cells and neuroblasts in the dentate gyrus. Brain ischemia caused cell death, disruption of myelin basic proteins, and reactive gliosis in CA1. In addition, ischemia significantly increased pro-inflammatory cytokines and the number of proliferating cells and differentiating neuroblasts in the dentate gyrus. In contrast, hypothermic conditioning attenuated these changes in CA1 and the dentate gyrus. However, cuprizone treatment decreased cell survival induced by hypothermic preconditioning after ischemia and increased the number of reactive microglia and astrocytes in CA1 as well as of macrophages in the subcallosal zone. These changes occurred because the protective effect of hypothermia in ischemic damage was disrupted by cuprizone administration. Furthermore, cuprizone decreased ischemia-induced proliferating cells and neuroblasts in the dentate gyrus

        Development and Evaluation of QTL-NIL for Grain Weight from an Interspecific Cross in Rice

        In a previous study, we mapped 12 QTLs for 1,000 grain weight (TGW) in the 172 BC2F2 lines derived from a cross between Oryza sativa ssp. Japonica cv. Hwaseongbyeo and O. rufipogon. These QTLs explained 5.4 - 11.4% of the phenotypic variance for TGW. Marker-aided selection combined with backcrosses was employed to develop QTL-NILs for each QTL. BC2F2 lines with each target QTL were backcrossed to Hwaseongbyeo twice and then allowed to self to produce BC4F5 populations. SSR markers linked to TGW were employed to select QTL-NILs with the respective target QTL. Six QTL-NILs with the recurrent parent, Hwaseongbyeo were evaluated for nine traits for three years from 2007 and 2009. Differences were observed between each of the 6 QTL-NILs and Hwaseongbyeo in TGW. In addition to TGW, these QTL-NILs displayed differences in other agronomic traits possibly indicating a tight linkage of genes controlling these traits. The direction of the QTL for TGW in 6 QTL-NILs was consistent as in the BC2F2 lines from the same cross. Difference in TGW between each of the QTL-NILs and Hwaseongbyeo was associated with the difference in one or two grain shape traits; grain length, grain width, and grain thickness. SSR markers linked to the QTL for TGW will facilitate selection of the grain shape character in a breeding program to diversify grain shape and provide the foundation for map-based gene isolation. Also, the QTL-NILs developed in this report and the progenies from crosses between the QTL-NILs will be useful in clarifying epistatic interactions among QTLs for TGW.
