Wind disturbance may significantly reduce the flight control performance of quadrotors when flying. In order to meet high performance flight control requirements, this paper presents a quadrotor anti-wind model (QAWM) and a flight control scheme for quadrotors. The QAWM takes the influence of aerodynamic effects on the propeller, gyroscopic effect and wind disturbance into account. The model can represent more flight states including not only hovering but also flight in windy conditions even maneuver flight. A cascade control schemewith an improved extended state observer (IESO) is adopted to decompose the quadrotor flight control problem into position control loop and attitude control loop. In the attitude control loop, the IESO is used to estimate the unmodeled dynamics, parameter uncertainties and external disturbances, as well as compensate the angular velocity control. In addition, the stability of IESO and the closed loop system are proved. Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the nonlinear quadrotor model and control scheme, and the control scheme can effectively improve the flight performance of quadrotors under wind disturbance even maneuver flight.
Reasoning and fuzzy comprehensive assessment methods based CAD system for boiler intelligent design
Yue-xi Yu,Hong-kai Liao,Yi Zhou,Wei Zhong 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.3
Boilers are key industrial equipment in the field of modern manufacturing. In this study, rule-based reasoning (RBR) and case-basedreasoning (CBR) are applied into the boiler intelligent design. RBR is adopted to perform like a “sieve” for the acquisition of candidatestructure modules. Then, fuzzy comprehensive assessment method is used to select an optimal structure module among the candidates. The optimal structure module is subjected to the CBR process, which includes modification and case retention. It is a minor adjustmentprocess that needs a great amount of prior knowledge. The case retention process gives the system a self-enrich function, which will improvethe design ability of the system with continuous use of the system. A case study is presented to validate the correctness and efficiencyof proposed method.

Two classes of morpholino-substitued thioacetate have been successfully synthesized and their electrochemical properties of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on Au electrode are measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The barrier property of the SAMs-modified surfaces is evaluated by using potassium ferro/ferri cyanide. The results suggest that the arenethioacetate forms higher-quality close-packed blocking monolayers in comparison with alkanethioacetate. Furthermore, it has shown that the barrier properties of these monolayers can be significantly improved by mixed SAMs formation with decanethiol. From our experimental results we find that the electron transfer reaction of $[Fe(CN)_6]^{3/4-}$ redox couple occurs predominantly through the pinholes and defects present in the SAM and both SAMs show a good and fast capacity in recognition for $Ag^+$. The morphological and elementary composition have also been examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS).

The nonlinear optical properties have been studied using the Z-scan technique for silicon nanocrystals embedded in a SiO2 matrix formed by high-temperature annealing of SiOx/SiO2 superlattices grown by thermal evaporation. A mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser system producing 140-fs-long pulses at 800 nm was used as the optical source for the Z-scan measurements. The nonlinear refractive index and the nonlinear absorption coefficient of the silicon nanocrystals were found to be 1.2 × 10−13 cm2/W and 1.5 × 10−9 cm/W, respectively, and to be strongly enhanced compared to those of bulk silicon. Such enhancement of the nonlinear optical properties is considered to be due to the quantum confinement effect of silicon nanocrystals.

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratorysyndrome coronavirus 2 has rapidly spread globally. Cancer patients are at a higher risk ofbeing infected with the coronavirus and are more likely to develop severe complications, ascompared to the general population. The increasing spread of COVID-19 presents challengesfor the clinical care of patients with gynecological malignancies. Concerted efforts should beput into managing gynecological malignancies in an orderly manner by strictly implementingthe measures that are specifically developed for controlling the spread of COVID-19. We havedrafted Recommendations on Management of Gynecological Malignancies during the COVID-19 Pandemicbased on our experience on controlling COVID-19 pandemic in China. We recommendthat patients with gynecological malignancies should be managed in hierarchical andindividualized manners in combination with local conditions related to COVID-19. Medicalcare decision should be balanced between controlling COVID-19 pandemic spread and timelydiagnosis and treatment for gynecologic oncology patients.
Comparison Study of the Band-gap Structure of a 1D-Photonic Crystal by Using TMM and FDTD Analyses
Jian-Bo Chen,Yan Shen,Wei-Xi Zhou,Yu-Xiang Zheng,Hai-Bin Zhao,Liang-Yao Chen 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.58 No.42
A variety of numerical methods has been developed to demonstrate the nature of photons propagating in an artificially-composed periodic structure. Differences will be generated by different kinds of numerical approaches. In this work, we carry out two types of numerical calculations, TMM (transfer matrix method) and FDTD (finite different time domain) calculations. In terms of the 1D-photonic crystal structures with two different structures, we illustrate the energy band spectra, and the results show dispersive characteristics for the optical transmission and reflection of the crystal material. Through a discussion of the mechanism, detailed comparison studies are preformed based on the different physical conditions. The results given in the work will help in better understanding the ways in which photons propagate in an artificially-composed periodic structure.

Rabies remains an important worldwide health problem. Newcastle disease virus (NDV) was developed as a vaccine vector in animals by using a reverse genetics approach. Previously, our group generated a recombinant NDV (LaSota strain) expressing the complete rabies virus G protein (RVG), named rL-RVG. In this study, we constructed the variant rL-RVGTM, which expresses a chimeric rabies virus G protein (RVGTM) containing the ectodomain of RVG and the transmembrane domain (TM) and a cytoplasmic tail (CT) from the NDV fusion glycoprotein to study the function of RVG’s TM and CT. The RVGTM did not detectably incorporate into NDV virions, though it was abundantly expressed at the surface of infected BHK-21 cells. Both rL-RVG and rL-RVGTM induced similar levels of NDV virus-neutralizing antibody (VNA) after initial and secondary vaccination in mice, whereas rabies VNA induction by rL-RVGTM was markedly lower than that induced by rL-RVG. Though rL-RVG could spread from cell to cell like that in rabies virus, rL-RVGTM lost this ability and spread in a manner similar to the parental NDV. Our data suggest that the TM and CT of RVG are essential for its incorporation into NDV virions and for spreading of the recombinant virus from the initially infected cells to surrounding cells.
Knock-down of OsLOX by RNA interference leads to improved seed viability in rice
Suyang Bai,Niqing He,Lu Zhou,Beibei Shen,Wei Wu,Xi Liu,Ling Jiang,Jianmin Wan 한국식물학회 2015 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.58 No.5
Previous work found that lipoxygenases were key enzymes in lipid peroxidation, which causes grain deterioration during storage. In order to obtain better seed viability in rice, 10 marker-free knock-down lines were obtained in the progeny of endogenous OsLOX knock-down mutations caused by the RNAi technology. After artificial accelerated aging, there were four types of knock-down lines with higher seed viability than wild type (receptor parent). OsLOX3 knock-down line NPF1 was of special interest. In a series of experiments, including Southern blots, analysis of OsLOX3 expression, and enzymatic activity, NPF1 had better seed viability than wild-type. We also investigated the main agronomic characters of both knock-down lines and non-transgenetic wild type families. Knock-down lines were identified with generally excellent agronomic characteristics similar to the wild-type.

Background: Weight loss during chemotherapy has not been exclusively investigated. Macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 (MIC-1) might play a role in its etiology. Here, we investigated the prognostic value of weight loss before chemotherapy and its relationship with MIC-1 concentration and its occurrence during chemotherapy in patients with advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Materials and Methods: We analyzed 157 inoperable locally advanced or metastatic ESCC patients receiving first-line chemotherapy. Serum MIC-1 concentrations were assessed before chemotherapy. Patients were assigned into two groups according to their weight loss before or during chemotherapy:>5% weight loss group and ${\leq}5%$ weight loss group. Results: Patients with weight loss>5% before chemotherapy had shorter progression-free survival period (5.8 months vs. 8.7 months; p=0.027) and overall survival (10.8 months vs. 20.0 months; p=0.010). Patients with weight loss >5% during chemotherapy tended to have shorter progression-free survival (6.0 months vs. 8.1 months; p=0.062) and overall survival (8.6 months vs. 18.0 months; p=0.022), and if weight loss was reversed during chemotherapy, survival rates improved. Furthermore, serum MIC-1 concentration was closely related to weight loss before chemotherapy (p=0.001) Conclusions: Weight loss both before and during chemotherapy predicted poor outcome in advanced ESCC patients, and MIC-1 might be involved in the development of weight loss in such patients.
