Objective-Residual symptoms of depression are related to more severe and chronic course of functional impairment with higher risk of relapse. The objective of this study was to validate, and determine psychometric properties of the Korean version of Depression Residual Symptom Scale (KDRSS). Methods-A total of 203 outpatients with recent episode of major depression based on DSM-IV criteria were enrolled in this study. They had been treated with antidepressants and assessed by KDRSS, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-24 (HDRS-24), and Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MARDS). The validity and reliability of KDRSS were assessed, including internal consistency reliability, concurrent validity, temporal stability, factorial validity, and discriminative validity. Results-Internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha=0.961), concurrent validity (MADRS: r=0.731, p<0.01, HDRS-24: r=0.663, p<0.01), and temporal stability (r=0.726, p<0.01) of KDRSS were all excellent. KDRSS showed good discriminative validity based on MARDS. KDRSS consisted of one-factor structure accounting for 63.8% of total variance. All subjects except two in full remission group had one or more residual symptoms. In 7 subscales of KDRSS consisting of similar items respectively, ‘lack of energy’ was the most commonly reported, followed by ‘increased emotionalism’ in this group. Conclusion-KDRSS is a useful and sensitive instrument for measuring residual depressive symptoms. Since some depressive symptoms including ‘lack of energy’ and ‘increased emotionalism’ in patients with full remission might be persistent during psychiatric intervention, these symptoms need to be focused on in clinical practice.

<P>Two new compounds which substituted quinoline group in 1,4-position and 1,8-position of anthraquinone were synthesized for color filter. The change in physical properties according to the substituted position of the synthesized compound was systematically identified from the perspectives of optical property and thermal property. The extinction coefficient (ε) of the synthesized substance has a very high value more than 4.26 in log scale. Td value is more than 300 C, which shows high thermal stability. This showed quite excellent results in optical property and thermal stability.</P>

Rem Koolhaas has pursued new architectural approaches with conventional ones. Around the 1990s when large-scale projects occurred with the union of Europe ahead, Koolhaas recognized the limits to the existing methods for responding to such changes. Accordingly, he came to use design methods based on ‘congestion’ and ‘void’ as strategical alternatives, which became the moment for him to leap forward from the previous working sphere based in Europe to becoming an architect who would be commissioned a number of large-scale global projects. Therefore, this study intends to investigate his design methods which utilized congestion and void, and to derive spatial characteristics from the projects based on such methods. First of all, the study looked into the historical background, definition and process of congestion and the void as design methods, and analyzed his projects to which such methods were applied by classifying them into the following categories: 1) the void that removes a space of singularity; 2) the void that penetrates space while making a flow; and 3) the void that is formed by vertical extrusion. Then, the characteristics of architectural spaces made in this way were identified as 1) the single-body appearance made by congestion and the following types of space made by the void: 2) the non-uniformly shaped space that looks like floating; 3) the flexible space with various flows and directions; 4) the space with virtual possibilities that embrace contingent events. This understanding of Rem Koolhaas’s design methods which were attempted in various ways at his critical turning point will be the foundation to understand the overall world of his works.

게임 산업이 부상하며 게임의 세계관과 스토리텔링의 중요도 또한 커지고 있다. 게임의 특정 세계관을 전달하는 것은 게임의 몰입도에 막대한 영향을 미침으로 스토리를 전달하는 방식은 계속 연구될 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 모델링 툴을 이용하여 캐릭터를 구현하고 게임엔진을 사용하여 게임의 초반 스토리를 대화창을 통해 전달하였다. 연구를 통해 스토리를 전달하기 위한 워크플로우를 세우고, 그 과정을 심도 있게 이해할 수 있었으며, 이는 차후에 보다 더 정교한 게임 캐릭터 개발과 원활한 스토리텔링을 위한 기반이 될 것이라고 기대한다. With the rise of the game industry, the importance of the game's storytelling is also increasing. Delivering a specific world view of a game has a tremendous effect on the immersion of the game, so the method of delivering a story needs to be studied continuously. In this study, the character was implemented using 3D modelling tool, and the initial story of the game was delivered through a dialogue window using a game engine. Through the research, we were able to establish a workflow for telling stories using a character and understand each process in depth, which we expect to be the basis for more sophisticated game character development and smooth storytelling in the future.
