      • 한국인 제2형 당뇨병 환자의 골격근에서 인슐린 신호전달체계의 결함

        연구배경: 제2형 당뇨병에서 나타나는 인슐린 저항성은 간, 지방, 근육 같은 말초조직에서 인슐린의 작용이 떨어지는 것을 말한다. 제2형 당뇨병의 발생기전에 인슐린 저항성과 인슐린 분비능 저하가 같이 관여함은 잘 알려진 사실이다. 인슐린의 세포내에서의 저항성을 규명하기 위한 인슐린의 세포내 신호전달체계에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며 몇몇 연구에서 인슐린 저항성을 가진 골격근육에서 IRS와 관련된 PI3-kinase의 활성감소와 Akt kinase의 활성감소를 보고하고 있으나 아직까지 명확하게 그 기작이 설명되어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정상성인, 제2형 당뇨병 환자를 대상으로 경구당부하검사 및 인슐린 클램프검사를 시행하고 인슐린 클램프 검사시 대상인의 근육을 채취하여 인슐린 신호전달 체계(IR-β, IRS, Akt(PKB, Rac) kinase, GSK-3)를 연구하였다. 방법: 연구대상자는 한국인으로서 경구당부하검사상 정상인 및 당뇨병 환자 각각 11명, 9명을 대상으로 하였으며, 정상인은 건강인으로 과거력상 당대사에 영향을 줄 질환이 없고, 현재 당대사에 영향을 줄 약물 복용 및 다른 소견이 없는 경구당부하검사상 정성 내당능을 보이는 대상자로 하였다. 당뇨병환자는 모두 제2형 당뇨병 환자로 이환기간이 만 5년 이내인 경우로 하고, 인슐린으로 치료하는 대상자는 제외하도록 하였다. 대상자의 연령, 체질량지수, 체지방량, 공복시 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, 고밀도지단백 콜레스테롤 및 HbA1c, 인슐린, C-peptide를 측정하였고, "HOMA model"을 이용하여 베타세포의 기능와 인슐린저항성 정도를 평가하였다. 정상혈당클램프 검사(euhlycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test)를 시행하고 인슐린 투입 전과 인슐린 투입 30분후, 두차례에 걸쳐 대퇴부 근육생검을 실시한후 western 법으로 IR-β, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3의 인산화량을 측정하였다. 결과: 정상인 11명과 당뇨병 환자 9명을 대상으로 하였으며 대상자의 평균 연령, 평균 체질량지수, 체지방량, 허리/엉덩이 둘레의 비(waist hip ratio; WHR)는 두 군간에 차이가 없었다. 평균 공복혈당은 정상군 98.0±0.3㎎/dL, 당뇨병군 208.1±16.5㎎/dL(p<0.05), HbA1c는 정상군 5.4±0.5%, 당뇨병군 9.2±0.6%(p<0.05)였다. "HOMA model"을 이용한 베타세포의 기능과 인슐린저항성은 정상군 56.4±8.5%, 1.4±0.2, 당뇨병군 72.2±52.3%(p<0.01), 10.2±6.3(p<0.01)였으며 정상혈당클램프 검사상 포도당 이용률은 정상군 8.2±0.6㎎/㎏/min, 당뇨병군 3.7±1.1㎎/㎏/min(p<0.01)로 정상군과 당뇨병군간에 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. Western blot법으로 IR-β, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3의 인산화량을 인슐린 투입전과 인슐린 투입 30분후 측정하였을 때 IR-β에서는 정상군이 103.9±2.3에서 241.3±18.6, 당뇨군이 108.9±2.2에서 198.7±6.3으로 증가하였다(p=NS). 이는 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 통계적인 차이가 없었다. IRS에서는 정상군이 111.6±7.3에서 295.6±17.2, 당뇨군이 114.5±6.1에서 222.0±23.2로 증가하였으며(p<0.05), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 24% 감소하였다. Akt kinase에서는 103.4±6.0에서 416.8±29.5로 증가하였으며(p<0.01), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 43% 감소하였다. GSK-3에서는 정상군이 107.7±6.7에서 595.7±28.1, 당뇨군이 104.3±4.8에서 443.3±12.9로 증가하였으며(p<0.01), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 25% 감소하였다. 결론: 제2형 당뇨병 환자에서 정상인과 비교하여 인슐린 자극후 IR-β는 인산화량의 증가정도가 큰 차이가 없었으나, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3에서는 인산화량의 증가 정도가 감소되는 것으로 보아 상위 인슐린 신호전단체계부터 결함이 있는 것으로 생각된다. Background: The glucose uptake rate is the limiting step in glucose utilization and storage. The failure of insulin to stimulate glucose uptake in muscle appears to be a primary defect of insulin resistance. This study was undertaken to examine the effect of physiological hyperinsulinemia on the phosphorylation of the insulin receptor (IR-β), insulin receptor substrate (IRS), Akt kinase and GSK-3 in isolated skeletal muscle, in people with type 2 diabetes(n=9) and control subjects(n=11). Methods: 75g OGTT and euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test were done. And vastus lateralis muscle was obtained before and 30 min into the euglycemic clamp. Western blots were performed for tyrosine phosphroylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS) and phosphorylation of the insulin receptor(IR-β), Akt and GSK-3. Result: There were no statistical differences in the mean age, BMI and body fat between the control subjects and diabetic patients. The fasting blood sugar and HbA_1c in controls and diabetic patients were 98.0±0.3 and 208.1±16.5ng/dl, and 5.4±0.5 and 9.2±0.6%, and 1.4±0.2 in the control subjects, and 72.2±52.3%(p<0.01) and 10.2±6.3(p<0.01) in the diabetic patients, respectively. The insulin resistance from the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test were 8.2±0.6㎎/㎏/min and 3.7±1.1ng/㎏/min in the control subjects and in the diabetic patients, respectively(p<0.01). Compared with the normal controls, insulin-stimulated IR phosphorylation was no different to that in the diabetic patients. However, insulin-stimulated IRS phosphorylation, insulin-stimulated Akt phosphorylation and insulin-stimulated GSK-3 phosphorylation were reduced in the diabetic patients compared with the normal controls by 24, 43 and 25%, respectively(p<0.05). Conclusion: In Korean type 2 diabetic patients, the insulin resistance may be due to the impairment of the upstream insulin signal molecular network. Further studies will focus on determining whether these signaling defects are the cause of the development of insulin resistance, or secondary to the altered metabolic state, associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 17:685∼697, 2002).

      • 시간지연 제어기법을 이용한 유연한 로봇 팔의 위치 제어

        A TDC(Time Delay Control) theory is applied to the the position control problems of flexible robot manipulators subjected to unknown dynamics and distrurbances. One link flexible manipulator system with tip mass is represented as a simple spring-mass-damper syseem and AC servo motor is used as the actuator. Based on the system model, the TDC is designed, and the PI-controller is also designed for comparison. The control performance of TDC is evaluated through a series of simulations and experiments. The simulational and wxperimental results show that the TDC is much robust than the PI-controller to the unknown dynamics and disturbances.

      • 새로운 螺幹碍子의 特性開發에 關한 硏究

        Recent increase in power supply capacity modernization and rationalization of high voltage distribution lines in korea requires electrically and mechanically more reliable insulators. The electical porcelain which has made today's EHV power transmission possible must be highly reliable in its mechanical strength as well as in electrical properties. Many studies have been made in search for a better porcelain that meets the requirements. This report portrays and compares various aspects and characteristics of electrical porcelains such as Conventional Porcelain, Alumina Porcelain and Cristobalite Porcelain in terms of their characteristics and applications. Also explained are the studies made on compression glaze, internal stress, size effect and electrical properties. Spiral rod line post insulators have been developed out of these needs and they have already demonstrated excellent performances in service. The outstanding features of these insulators are as follows. 1) As alumina porcelain is used, mechanical strength and power are resistibillity are excellent. 2) They are free from deterioration and puncture because of the solid core construction, virtually maintenance-free. 3) The insulation level is 1.5 times that of the existing pin type insulators. This strengthened insulation level is effective for preventing lightning flashover of the insulator and therefore it is also effective to protect insulated conductor from power arc melting breakage. 4) They show superior characteristics under heavy pollution conditions due to the antipollution design of insulator profile.

      • 아침결식이 여고생의 체력과 신체조성에 미치는 영향

        This study was intended to make a comparative analysis of the effect of female high school students' absence of breakfast on the composition of physical strength and body. This study was conducted for 30 subjects in the group of female high school students omitting breakfast, those female students enrolled in the high school attached to ´K´University. As the research method, this study made a measurement and comparison of body fat by group, conducted the physical strength test on six items and conducted the questionnaire research and analyzed its results. As a result, it was found that there was not a overall significant difference in body fat, physical strength and that breakfast did not have an effect on body composition and scholastic achievement as well. This run counter to the findings of previous studies and expectation of this study. Accordingly, it is necessary to male a systematic study of the effect of female high school students' absence of breakfast on the composition of physical strength and body for more subjects for a longer period of research.

      • 대전·충남지역 고등학교 1학년생의 풍진 항체보유율과 백신접종 후의 항체형성률

        For the purpose of investigating the positive rate of rubella antibody and sero-conversion rate after rubella vaccination, 863 high school students of the two regions were studied from April 21st, 1996 to September 20th, 1996. The main results were as follows; 1. Positive rate of IgG in male was higher than in female, and the rate of IgM was also higher in male than in female. 2. Positive rate of IgG by blood type was similar, but positive rate of IgM was higher in AB type than the others. 3. Positive rate of IgG by vaccination was similar to all groups, but positive rate of IgM was higher in which was not vaccinated group. 4. Positive rate of IgG and IgM, having vaccination card, was less than which was not having vaccination card. 5. Those who were vaccinated acquired IgG(+) regardless of an existence of IgG antibody, and 28.3% of IgG(-), IgM(+) male who was not vaccinated became IgM(+), IgG(+) after 3months later. As a result positive rate of male was higher than female. The author conclude that vaccination is necessary to prevent from rubella for them.

      • 外國人 直接投資에 대한 硏究 : 對外經濟證屬이 經濟成長과 所得分配에 미치는 影響에 관한 實증硏究

        Dependency theory claims that economic dependency retards economic development and increases income inequlity within peripheral countries. On the other hand, neoclassical development theory predicts that economic linkage to the world economy facilitates economic growth and improves the income distribution. This paper aimes to test the general validity of dependency theory by using a cross section data over 1970s and time series data over the period 1962-1984 of Korea. The time series data allow us to observe the dynamics of dependency theory which emphasizes the "historical process". Four measures of economic dependency or external linkage are used to regress the economic growth rate and Gini coefficients. The control variables additionally employed in our empirical analysis are exports and domestic capital formation. The research design employed is a regression analysis incorporating lag structure. The results indicate that economic dependency has no significant negative effects on growth and income distribution. Thus we conclude that the denpendency theory is not substantiated by our empirical data. The data rather supports the neoclassical development theory.

      • 한국인에게서 그레이브스병 약물치료의 적정기간

        연구배경: 그레이브스병의 치료에는 항갑상선제, 수술 및 방사성 요오드법이 선택되어 사용되고 있다. 이중 항갑상선제는 가장 많이 선호되고 있으나 낮은 관해율과 높은 재발율로 장기간 치료기간이 요구된다. 저자들은 그레이브스병 환자에게서, 선택되는 치료법의 선호도와 각 치료법의 관해율을 조사하고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 항갑선제 치료의 적정기간을 평가하고자 하였다. 방법: 아주대학교병원에 내원한 환자 중 1년 이상 추적관찰이 가능한 205명의 그레이브스병 환자를 대상으로 조사하였다. 항갑상제군, 수술군 및 방사성 요오드군은 각각 170명, 29명 그리고 6명이었다. ROC curve를 이용하여 약물치료의 예후예측인자를 분석하였다. 결과: 1) 그레이브스병 환자의 치료 방법의 선택은 항갑상선제군, 수술군 및 방사성 요오드군 각각 170명(83.0%), 29명(14.1%) 그리고 6명(2.9%)으로 항갑상선제 치료가 가장 선호되었다. 2) 그레이브스병의 관해율은 항갑상선제군, 수술군 및 방사성 요오드군에서 각각 60.0%(102/170명), 96.5%(28/29명) 그리고 83.0%(5/6명)으로 수술군이 가장 높았다. 3) ROC curve의 AUC는 치료기간과 진단시 TBII가 각각 0.709 및 0.648이었고 적절한 약물투여 추적 관찰기간은 26개월이었다. 결론: 그레이브스병의 일차 치료법으로는 항갑상선제가 선호되고 있으나 수술 및 방사성 요오드 치료군에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 관해율을 보였다. 따라서 항갑상선제 치료로 26개월 이상 관해가 되지 않을 경우에는 치료 방법의 변경을 고려하는 것이 관해율을 높이는데 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다. Background: Graves' disease in an organ specific autoimmune disease. Three kinds of therapeutic modalities (antithyroid drugs, ablation with radioactive iodine and subtotal thyroidectomy) are frequently performed for the management of this disease. The most popular therapeutic policy for the disease in Korea is antithyroid treatment. We analysed and compared the remission rates of all three modalities for Graves' disease, and evaluated the antithyroid modality to determine the correct duration of treatment. Subjects & Methods : The medical records of 205 patients with Graves' disease were reviewed. For the evaluation of the antithyroid modality medical treatment, antithyroid drugs were administered for more than 1 year. The prognostic factors associated with remission were analysed by means of an ROC curve. Results: 1) Of the 205 patients, proportions that received medical therapy, subtotal thyroidectomy and radioiodine therapy were 83.0, 14.1 and 2.9%, respectively. 2) The remission rates of the medical therapy, surgery and radioiodine therapy were 60.0, 96.5 and 83.0%, respectively. 3) The remission rate of the medical therapy was associated with the duration of medication and TBII activity. The determined proper duration for the antithyroid treatment was 26 months from the ROC curve analysis. Conclusion: The above results suggest that the proper duration of antithyroid treatment for Graves' disease is 26 months, after which time the subtotal thyroidectomy or radioiodine therapy should be considered if the disease has not remitted (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 18:24∼31, 2003).

      • 시공간 트렐리스 부호화 CDMA 시스템에서의 선택적 PRC를 사용한 레이크 수신기의 성능 분석

        다중 경로 페이딩 채널에서의 시공간 트렐리스 부호 (STTC, Space-Time Trellis Codes)의 성능 열화를 보완하기 위한 시공간 등화기는 수신기를 복잡하게 하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 PRC (Principal Ratio Combining) 레이크 수신기를 제안하였다. 이 수신기는 다중 경로 신호를 PRC 기법을 사용하여 컴바이닝 함으로서 수신 SINR (Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio)을 개선하는 효과를 얻는다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 모든 다중 경로 컴바이닝에 비교하여, 낮은 복잡도로 비슷한 성능을 얻을 수 있는 선택적 PRC (Hybrid Selection / Principal Ratio Combining) 구조를 제시하였다. The space-time equalizer has been used to enhance the space time code in the multipath fading channel. However it requires higher receive complexity. In this paper, the principal ratio combining (PRC) receiver for space-time trellis coded CDMA system is proposed in the multipath fading channels. It maximizes the received signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) and reduces the complexity of the system compared to optimum ML receiver. We also present the hybrid selection / principal ratio combining (HS/PRC) scheme that can achieve the performance comparable to that of the full path PRC combining system.

        율무 박피 다수성 선발 계통의 생육 및 종실특성

        This study was conducted to select thin-shelled and high-yielding lines in job`s-tears. Two breeding lines of Suwon 3 and Suwon 6 were selected from the local collections. These two lines were tested and investigated on their characteristics under the field condition. The heading date of Suwon 3 and Suwon 6 was later one or two days, but the maturity date was one or two days earlier than that of check variety Kim-jejong, respectively. The number of grains per hill of Suwon 3, Suwon 6 was 50%, 49% greater and the milling rate was 3.8%, 5.6% higher than that of check variety, respectively. Althought 1000 grain weight of Suwon 3 and Suwon 6 was 20g lighter and the rate of ripeness was 6%, 12% lower, the raw grain yield was 22%, 20% higher than that of check variety, respectively. The thickness of seed coat of Suwon 3 and Suwon 6 was thiner and the hardness of seed coat was lower than that of check variety, therefore the milling time was decreased 12%, 7% compare to check variety, respectively. The crude protein contents of Suwon 3 and Suwon 6 was slightly higher and the amino acid composition of Suwon 6 was similar to Kimjejong, but Suwon 3 was lower than that of check variety.
