We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

운동참여와 컴퓨터 음란물 접촉 실태

This study is the research of middle school students' sports participation and the contact into computer lewdness. The followings are conclusions. 1. The positive students participated in sports have much experience in the computer lewdness. The positive students are more sensitive than negative students in sexual behavior. The sexual response after they watch computer lewdness was positive. The positive students were more progressive than negative students in the sexual consciousness. 2. Most of the students in the response of research question have experiences of contact into the computer lewdness, the boys were exposed more than girls. They watched the computer lewdness with their friends but they don't watch it habitually. The realities of computer lewdness are inclined to recognize negatively and extensively by mass communication. 3. Their sexual behaviors when they watched the lewdness were low point below the average, the boys were more positive than girls. In the experience of acquaintance , the girls were more positive than boys. But most of the students had no sexual experience. 4. The sexual response when the students watch the scene of the lewdness was low below the average point, the girl students are negative than boys and some of the boys have the sexual desire. These present state are the common things that they have in the adolescence and they are not only because computer lewdness. Therefore we need many kinds of sex education in order not to have disgust in sex. 5. In the response of sexual consciousness, most of the students are interested in lower than average point. They are conservative and negative. The positive students in sports are more progressive than negative students.

알레르기 환자에서 혈청 IgE와 특이항원 양성율의 일치도

To evaluate usefulness of serum IgE to determine specific allergens, authors conducted priest IgE and MAST-CLA allergen-specific IgE assays in 78 allergic patients diagnosed at Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hospital during October 1998 through July 2000. During the study period, inhalent and food Korean panels were applied in 57 (73.1%) and 21 outpatients (26.9%), respectively. Kappa index was calculated to evaluate the agreement of priest IgE with Total IgE and allergen-specific IgE by MAST-CLA. 1. The men (±SD) age was 13.2 (±14.1) year-old and male accounted for 62.8%. 2. The overall positive rate of priest IgE was 66.7% and mean (±SD) level of priest IgE was 271.2 (±265.6) IU/ml 3. Patients with more than one specific allergen and with elevated total IgE by MAST-CLA were 25 (32.1%) and 33 (42.3%), respectively. 4. Significant agreement between total IgE and allergen-specific IgE was shown, but strength of agreement was slight (Kappa = 0.186, P = 0.046), 5. While no significant agreement between priest IgE and total IgE was observer, the priest IgE agreed significantly with allergen-specific IgE (Kappa = 0.153, P=0.043) In conclusion, our data suggested that serum priest IgE is more likely associated with allergen-specific IgE than total IgE in MAST-CLA assay. Furthermore, it is recommended that Korean panel of MAST-CLA should contain more specific allergens.

기저질환이 없는 사람에서 발생한 Campylobacter fetus에 의한 재발성 심내막염 1예

C. fetus 심내막염은 드물게 발생하는 질환으로 주로 면역능이 저하된 환자에서 발병하고 대동맥판을 침범하는 경우가 많으며 적절한 치료가 되지 않을 경우 치사율이 높다. 저자들은 기저질환이 없던 69세 남자에서 C. fetus 심내막염을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. 환자는 발열로 내원하여 시행한 혈액배양 검사상 C. fetus가 동정되었고 경식도 초음파 검사상 삼첨판에 증식증이 발견되어 심내막염 진단하에 ceftriaxone에 이어 meropenem으로 총 4주간 항생제를 투여받고 호전되었다가 한달 후 다시 재발하였고 판막부전 소견 진행하여 삼첨판 치환술을 시행받고 전신상태 호전되어 퇴원하였다. Campylobacter fetus is a rare cause of endocarditis. To date, only about 30 cases of C. fetus endocarditis have been reported mainly in the elderly with chronic underlying illnesses. Most cases showed tendency to involve aortic valve. This report describes a case of native tricuspid valve infective endocarditis in a 69-year-old man without any underlying disease. Despite adequate antibiotic therapy for 4-weeks, endocarditis recurred and leading to surgical valve replacement.

In the modern society, as the interior material has become main subject of the interior design expression, their influence on interior is becoming substantial. At this point, this study has a purpose in not only understanding architectural materials but also researching for characteristics of expression based on five sensibilities in the interior design. First, this study will 1) understand the emotion and emotional design, 2) examine the characteristics of Pilippe Stark's design and Karim Rashid's design 3) understand expression of emotional design and synesthesia in interior space 4) analyze relationship between architectural material and emotional design. Now we can expect the concept of the materialism is changing which based on five sense of human and expect the various characteristics of the interior space.

A sensitivity analysis about effects of influencing factors on the stability of Soil cut slope was performed. Slope stability analyses were carried out under dry, rainy and seismic conditions. Dominant factors controlling the slope stability were chosen such as cohesion and internal friction angle, unit weight of soil, water table and seismic horizontal coefficient used for the slope stability during eurthquake. Parametric stability analysis with those factors was performed for sensitivity analysis. As results of analyzing the sensitivity of factors under dry and rainy conditions, effects of cohesion, internal friction angle and unit weight of soil on the stability of slope are more critical in the dry condition than in the rainy condition. Cohesion and internal friction angle are more dominant factors influencing the slope stability irrespective of dry or rainy conditions than unit weight of soil and the horizontal seismic coefficient. The unit weight and the horizontal seismic coefficient affects crucially the stability according to conditions of slope formation and dry or rainy seasons. For the effect of horizontal seismic coefficient on stability of slope, safety factor of slope is not affected significantly by dry or rainy conditions, However, increase of the horizontal seismic coefficient under the rainy condition does reduce the safety factor significantly rather than the dry condition. Therefore, it is needed that the location of the water table is assigned appropriately to satisfy the required safety factor of stability in the case of checking slope stability for the rainy and seismic conditions.

An unprecedented magnitude of disaster, Tsunami, washed away Southeast Asia, on December 26, 2004. and more than 200,000 peoples were killed by the disaster. Staffs of our hospital visited Indonesia for voluntary medical supports from January 12, to January 21, 2005. We summarize here our 10 days' experiences in Indonesia.

링형 초음파모터의 고정자 진동 해석 및 구동회로 개발

본 논문에서는 링형 초음파 모터의 고정자의 굽힘진동에 대한 일반적인 해석에 대해 기술하였다. 전기-기계 결합효과를 고려하여 일반화 응력과 변형의 개념을 정립하였고, 일반화 압전방정식, 일반화 응력과 변형의 관계, 미분운동방정식에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 고정자의 진동모드 계산과 공진주파수를 계산하기 위해 유한요소법을 적용하였으며, 유한요소법을 이용한 진동해석 프로그램인 ATILA를 사용하여 고정자의 공진주파수와 변위를 계산하였다. 초음파 모터의 구동을 위해 20kHz 이상의 고주파 전원이 필요하기 때문에 2상 병렬 공진형 인버터를 제작하여 구동전압의 주파수 및 크기를 측정하여 고정자 해석과 구동회로 시뮬레이션과 비교하였다. In this paper, the bending vibration analysis of the stator for a ring type ultrasonic motor is described. Considering the electromechanical coupling effect, the concepts of generalized stress and strain are explained in detail using the generalized piezoelectric equations, which is the relationship between generalized stress and strain, the differential motion equation were derived. The vibration modes and resonance frequencies of the stator were calculated using the finite element code ATILA. For driving of ultrasonic motor, a two-phase parallel-resonant inverter was made. The stator analysis results and driving circuit simulation results are compared with measured frequencies and amplitudes.
