        비호지킨림프종 환자에서 발생한 폐 효모균증 1예

        저자들은 비호지킨씨 림프종 환자에서 항암 치료 후 질환의 진행성 병변과 감별을 요했던 우폐 중엽의 단발성 종괴를 흉강경하 생검으로 폐 효모균증을 확진하고 amphotericin B와 fluconazole로 치료한 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is monoclonal expansion of malignant B or T cells. The immunocompromised status in this disease is accompanied by many infections. The cryptococcosis, caused by Cryptococcus neoformans, frequently occurs in leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, sarcoidosis, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, and long-term steroid-using patients. Recent increasing incidence of fungal infection could be due to the spread of AIDS and transplantation. We experienced one patient with lung mass in Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma after three cycles of chemotherapy, which could not be discriminated from the newly developed lymphoma mass. Cryptococcus neoformans was isolated from the lung tissue obtained by thoracoscopic biopsy. Herein we report this case with brief review of pertinent literature.

        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

        비응축성 기체 존재 시 수직관 외벽에서의 응축 열전달계수 상관식 개발

        본 연구에서는 비응축성 기체(공기)가 존재할 때, 10 mm의 직경을 갖는 수직 튜브 외벽에서의 응축 열전달계수를 측정하였다. 압력 2~5 bar, 공기 질량분율 10~75 %의 범위에서 실험을 수행하였다. 응축튜브 직경의 차이가 열전달계수에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 측정 결과를 외경 40 mm의 응축튜브로부터 얻은 Lee의 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 본 연구의 측정결과와 Lee, 그리고 Dehbi의 실험결과를 이용하여 전열관의 직경에 의한 영향을 고려할 수 있는 실험적 상관식을 제안하였다. 제안된 상관식의 검증을 위해 Kawakubo의 실험결과와 예측값을 비교하였고, 평균 표준편차는 약 27 %로 나타났다. In this study, condensation heat transfer coefficients are measured in the presence of noncondensable gas (i.e., air) on a vertical tube with a 10-mm outer diameter. Experiments are conducted at pressures ranging from 2 to 5 bar and an air-mass fraction from 10 to 75 %. The experimental results are compared to the heat transfer coefficients obtained on a 40-mm O.D. tube, researched by Lee et al. Using the consolidated data from this study and Lee"s and Dehbi"s tests, a new empirical correlation for the condensation heat transfer coefficient of an air-steam mixture is developed. The proposed correlation is assessed against Kawakubo"s experimental results, and the mean standard deviation is ~27 %.

      • Berberine 原料로한 benzophenanthridine系 alkaloid 合成硏究

        Two Benzophenanthridine alkaloids, dihydrosanguinarine and sanguinarine which process antiinflammatory, antibacterial and expectorant activities were synthesized from berberine chloride through new process. The results obtained were as follows; The reaction of berberine with sodium borohydride in methanol resulted in the high yield of tetrahydroberberine (THB)[ Ⅰ ]. Treatment of THB[ I ] with BBr_3 afforded 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 13a-hexahydro-2, 3, 9, 10-tetrahydroxydibenzo [a, g] quinolizine [ Ⅱ ] in 62.5% yield. Reaction of compound [ Ⅱ ] with dimethylsulfoxide in the precense of sodium hydroxide afforded 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 13a-hexahydro-2, 3, 9, 10-bismethylenedioxy-dibenzo[a, g] quinolizine [ Ⅲ ] in 34% yield. 5, 6-dihydro-2, 3, 9, 10-bismethylenedioxy-dibenzo[a, g] quinolizium iodide [ Ⅳ ] were synthesized by the reaction of compound [ Ⅲ ] with I_2 in a quantitative yield. Compound [ Ⅳ ] was further reduced with lithium aluminium hydride [LiAlH_4] in tetrahydrofuran (T.H.F) in a stream of nitrogen at room temperature to give the [ Ⅴ ] in 89%. Compound [ Ⅵ ] was obtained from [ Ⅴ ] through Hoffmann degradation followed treatment with 2, 3-dich-loro-5, 6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone to give in 89% yield. A more efficient and convenient preparation of [ Ⅶ ] entailed the addition of solution of thallium trinitrate trihydrate in Methanol to a solution of the [ Ⅵ ] in Methanol at room temperature to afford the acetal [ Ⅵ ] (78%). The structure of [ Ⅶ ] was apparent from the proton signals of the acetal proton at 4.39%). Hydrolysis of [ Ⅶ ] with Methanolic hydrochloric acid to give the [ Ⅷ ] in a good yield. Reduction of [ Ⅷ ] with Lithium Aluminium hydride [LAH] in dry T.H.F. at 0℃ in a stream of Nitrogen produced the [ Ⅸ ] in 76% yield, the reduction of [ Ⅸ ] with sodium borodydride in Methanol and treament with 10% hydrochloric acid gave the Sangumarine chloride.

        Studies were conducted to investigate the response of some horticultural plants to various light qualities provided by different kind of materials such as cellophane sheets, EVA, PVC(polyvinyl chloride, and polyethylene (PE) films of different color. Major findings are summarized as follows. White fluorescence light and red light promoted seed germination of lettuce and inhibited that of radish seeds. Blue light inhibited the seed germination of both types of light-sensitive seeds. The light sensitivity varied considerably depending upon the kind of crops, cultivars, and the seed batches of the same cultivar. The blue light was equally or more strongly effective in inhibiting the seed germination as compared to the farred light. The growth of young seedlings developed from seeds was considerably promoted when grown under orange colored plastic film coverings. The growth of larger seedlings was, however, not influenced by the color of plastic films. Mulching pepper field with colored PVC film did not show further advantages over the commonly-used black PE film. Herbicidal activity of oxyfluorfen was very strong under natural light or red light conditions' and weak under blue or green light conditions. The degree of oxyfluorfen-induced phytotoxicity varied considerably depending upon the light quality and the kind of vegetable crops.

      • Null Ellipsometry를 이용한 Stainless Steel표면의 물분자 흡착

        Stainless steel표면의 물분자의 흡착을 연구하기 위해 Null ellipsometry를 이용하였다. 단층박막 모델과 effective medium 이론을 이용하여, 물 분자의 surface coverage를 얻었다. 상대습도 증가에 따른 surface coverage의 변화로부터 stainless steel표면의 물분자의 resident time을 유도할 수 있었다. Null ellipsometry was employed to study the adsorption of water molecules on stainless steel surface. Using a single layer optical model and effective medium theory, the surface coverage of water molecules was obtained. From the variation of surface coverage upon humidity rise, we could derive the resident time of water molecules on the stainless steel surface. It was estimated as 1O-7sec or longer.

        Bacillus lentimorbus WJ5의 감마선유도 돌연변이체들에서 공통으로 발현되는 방사선 관련 유전자의 microarray 분석

        본 연구에서는 감마선으로 유도된 돌연변이체들에서 공통으로 발현되는 방사선 관련 유전자들의 발현을 연구하기 위하여, B. lentimorbus WJ5의 방사선 유도 돌연변이체에서 발현되는 유전자를 DNA microarray로 동시에 탐색하였다. DNA microarray는 B. lentimorbus WJ5 genome을 무작위로 절단하여 2,000단편으로 구성하였으며, 감마선 (^(60)Co)으로 유도된 7돌연변이체의 발현을 정량적으로 관찰하였다. 클러스터 분석결과 발현된 408 유전자 중 27개가 감마선 유도 돌연변이체 모두에서 유의하게 발현이 증가되었다. 특히, 복구(mutL, mutM)에너지 대사 (acsA, sdhB, p하, yhjB, citB), protease(npr), 산화자극에 대한 환원 (HMM)관련 유전자들이 동시에 증가되었다. 이는 감마선 유도 돌연변이체들에서 자발적인 직/간접 복구 관련 유전자의 발현 증가는 방사선 노출 직후 보이는 stress response와는 다른 현상임을 나타내는 것으로 생각된다. To study the radiation related gene expression in mutants of Bacillus lentimorbus WJ5 induced by gamm radiation, the simultaneous gene expression was analyzed by DNA microarray. We constructed DNA chips including two thousand randomly digested genome spots of B. lentimorbus WJ5 and compared its quantitative aspect with seven mutants induced by gamma radiation (^(60)Co). From the cluster analysis of gene expression pattern, totally 408 genes were expressed and 27 genes were significantly upregulated by the gamma radiation in all mutants. Especially, genes involved in repair (mutL, mutM), energy metabolism (acsA, sdhB, pgk, yhjB, citB), protease (npr), and reduction response to oxidative stress (HMM) were simultaneously upregulated. It seems that the induction of the direct and/or indirect repair related genes in mutants induced by gamma radiation could be remarkably different from the adaptive responses against acute exposure to radiation.

        In most countries road bridges are subjected to increasingly heavy freight traffic with a number of exceptional truck loads. This has made it necessary to devote particular attention to the dynamic beavior and dynamic property of bridges, which is a vital process in the decision-making for maintenance, repair, strengthening, or evenreplacement of existing road bridges. However, most countries including Korea do not have a comprehensive rating system or rating code. Furthermore, the current methods of rating of road bridges are dependent on the conventional design concepts and the safety parameters of the current bridge design codes. This study is carried out in order to measure dynamic response of arch bridge by dynamic loading test and investigate dynamic properties-natural frequency, mode shape, impact factor, damping ratio, DAF-of bridge by response analysis. From this study, It is estimated that dynamic behavior and the degree of old, damages of arch bridge.
