The effects of the transreactions on the rheological properties have been found in the poly(ethylene 2, 6-naphthalate) (PEN) and poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) blends. The rheological properties were very much dependent on the blend compositions, which, in turn, were related to extent of the reactions. In particular, a blend with 50/50 wt% composition exhibits an unusual and remarkable decrease in complex viscosity and it may be related to the randomness of the copolymer structure through transreactions. It has been identified by investigating the extent of transreactions and block length of the copolymer from the (ethylene 2, 6-naphthalate) (EN) and (ethylene terephthalate) (ET) units from $^1{H}$ n.m.r. spectra.

Effects of hydrogen peroxide $(H_2O_2)-induced$ neurotoxicity were investigated in cultured newborn rat spinal dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons after DRG neurons were treated in the media containning various concentrations of $H_2O_2$. In addition, the protective effect of Herba Epimedii (HE) extract against $H_2O_2-induced$ neurotoxicity was examined. Cytotoxic values were determined by the cell viability of living cells using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. In the present study, exposure of neurons to $H_2O_2$ resulted in a significant cell death in a dose- and time-dependent manners in cultured DRG neurons. The decrement of cell viability by $H_2O_2$ was blocked by HE. These results suggest that the neuroprotective effect of HE against $H_2O_2-induced$ cytotoxicity may result from the prevention of injury induced by $H_2O_2$.

중금속의 독성을 산화적 손상 측면에서 규명하며 동시에 중금속의 산화적 손상에 의한 한약추출물의 효과를 항산화적측면에서 조사하기 위하여 생쥐의 척수 감각신경절세포에 여러 농도의 FeSO₄를 처리한 후 이의 독성효과를 조사하였다. FeSO₄는 생쥐의 배양 척수 감각신경질세포에 처리한 농도와 시간에 비례하여 세포생존율을 유의하게 감소시켰으며, 15μM FeSO₄의 농도에서 척수 감각신경절세포를 4시간 동안 배양한 결과 MTT50 과 NR50 값을 나타냈으며 이는 고독성인 것으로 나타났다. [고독성; 100μM> MTT50, NR50]. 한편, 한약추출물인 원두충(EU)과 음양곽(EK) 및 감초(GC)는 FeSO₄에 의해서 유도된 신경독성에 대하여 세포생존율을 현저히 증가시킴으로서 유의한 방어효과를 보였다. 이상에서 FeSO₄는 생쥐의 배양 척수 감각신경절세포에 고독성으로 나타났으며, 또한 음양곽이나 익지인 및 감초와 같은 선택적인 한약추출물이 FeSO₄에 의해서 유도된 신경독성을 효과적으로 방어하였다. To clarify the mechanism between neurotoxity of metal and oxidative stress, toxic effect of FeSO₄was examined by MTT assay and NR assay in cultured spinal dorsal root ganglion(DRG) neurons from mouse. And also neuroprotective effects of antioxidant and several herb extracts on FeSO₄decreased cell viability in dose and time dependentry in cultured mouse spinal DRG neurons. MTT50 and NR50 values were determined at 15μM FeSO₄for 4 hours in these cultures, and this value was heighly toxic; MTT50, NR50 < 100μM). Glutathione markedly increasd cell viability after preincubation of DRG neros for 2 hours in the media containing cocentrations of 2-6mM glutathione. In neuroprotective of herb extracts, Eucommia lmoides Oliver(EU), Epimedium koreanum Nakai(EK) and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch(GC) were very effective in blocking the neurotoxicity induced by FeSO₄in cultured mouse spinal DRG neurons. These results suggested that FeSO₄was heighly toxic in cultured mouse spinal DRG neurons, and selective herb extracts such as Eucommia ulmoides Oliver(EU), Epimedium koreanum Nakai(EK) and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch(GC) were effective in blocking the FeSO₄-induced neurotoxicity in cultured mouse spinal DRG neurons.

Flupyradifurone is a new class of butenolide insecticide. As an alternative to imidacloprid, flupyradifurone will be widely used to remove sucking insect pests. This study was conducted to develop a new method for the residues of flupyradifurone in mandarin and pepper. They were suggested as the food commodities to determine the maximum residue limits (MRLs) in Korea. The analyte was analyzed and quantified by gas chromatography equipped with electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Samples were extracted by acetonitrile and purified through silica solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge. The linearity was good with a determination coefficient ( r2>0.99). Limit of detection(LOD) and limit of quantification(LOQ) were 0.001 and 0.005mg/kg, respectively. Recovery tests were conducted at three concentration levels (LOQ, 10×LOQ, 50×LOQ, n=5). The recovery rates of flupyradifurone were from 71.2 to 114.6% with relative standard deviations(RSDs) less than 9%. All values were consistent with the ranges required in the CODEX guidelines(CAC/GL40). The proposed method was effective and suitable to determine the residues of flupyradifurone in mandarin and pepper.

Despite the huge worldwide diversity of Trichoderma (Hypocreaceae, Ascomycota), only about 22 species have been reported in Korea. Thus, between 2013 and 2015, soil-derived Trichoderma spp. were isolated to reveal the diversity of Korean Trichoderma. Phylogenetic analysis of translation elongation factor 1 alpha gene was used for identification. Among the soilderived Trichoderma, Trichoderma albolutescens, T. asperelloides, T. orientale, T. spirale, and T. tomentosum have not been previously reported in Korea. Thus, we report the five Trichoderma species as new in Korea with morphological descriptions and images.

Imazapyr [2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin2-yl)nicotinic acid] is a non-selective herbicide which controls plant growth by inhibiting the production of branched-chain amino acids. Recently, it was registered in USA for the uses of soybean and its seed with MRLs 4.5 mg/kg and 4.0 mg/kg, respectively. To determine the maximum residue limit (MRL) for the food commodities in Korea, a new analytical method of imazapyr on soybean was developed and validated. Soybean samples were extracted with 60% methanol and partitioned with dichloromethane, adjusting pH to 2.5 by hydrochloric acid. Finally, they were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to UV detector(HPLC-UVD). The linearity was good with a determination coefficient ( r2>0.99). Recovery studies were carried out at three concentration levels (LOQ, 10LOQ, and 50LOQ) performing five replicates at each level. Recoveries were ranged between 70.4% and 80.1%, with relative standard deviations less than 5.4%. A consistent recovery was determined according to the CODEX guidelines(CAC/GL40). The developed method was useful for monitoring imazapyr residues in soybean. It can also be used for the analysis of imazapyr in other fruit and vegetable matrices.
Al65Cu20Fe15 합금에서 안정한 Icosahedral 준결정상의 형성 거동

The solidification sequence and the formation of the stable quasicrystalline icosahedral phase were investigated in a conventionally cast Al_(65)Cu_(20)Fe_(15) ingot by the combined analysis of SEM-EDX, TEM, XRD, and DTA. An Al_(65)Cu_(20)Fe_(15) alloy was melted in an inductively heated crucible, and then cast into a liquid nitrogencooled wedge-type steel mold under a dynamic argon atmosphere. Rapidly solidified ribbons were also prepared by single roller melt spinning. The microstructural evolution and the formation of icosahedral phase were examined as a function of heat treatment at the solid-liquid mixed region. Icosahedral phase was observed to form at the boundary of λ-Al_(13)Fe₄ phase via a peritectic reaction, and τ-AlCu(Fe) phase was formed in the remaining liquid. The composition corresponding to ω-Al_7Cu₂Fe was also detected in the area of icosahedral phase. It is suggested that the detailed solidification sequence and the resultant morphology of an Al-Cu-Fe alloy are subject to change as a function of cooling rate during solidification and heat treatment condition.
기계적 합금화에 의한 NiAl 나노결정립 금속간화합물의 형성

NiAl intermetallic compound was fabricated by mechanical alloying. The microstructure of the intermetallic compound was investigated as a function of mechanical alloying time and heat treatment condition by the combined analysis of XRD, neutron diffraction, SEM, and TEM. Mechanical alloying of Ni-50 at.%Al powders for 120 hours resulted in nanocrystalline grains with diameter of 2-5 ㎚. X-ray diffraction and neutron diffraction spectra indicated that only NiAl intermetallic compound was formed during mechanical alloying. NiAl superlattice peak (100) was still retained after mechanical alloying for 120 hours. Heat treatment of mechanically alloyed powders at 600℃ for 90 hours encouraged grain growth up to 20-30 ㎚, while long range order parameter remained almost constant. The lattice parameter was reduced from 2.903Å for as-milled NiAl compound to 2.884Å for the case of heat treatment at 600℃ for 90 hours. The activation energy for the reduction of lattice parameter was also evaluated as 0.5-0.7 kJ/㏖ as a function of heat treatment time by the Arrhenius equation. As the heat treatment temperature increased, the activation energy for the reduction of lattice parameter gradually decreased. It is concluded that the ordered nanocrystalline NiAl intermetallic compound was obtained by the ordering transition from topological disordered state during mechanical alloying of Ni-50 at.%Al up to 120 hours.
