악성흑색종과 양성멜라닌세포성모반에서 bcl-2 단백발현에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

Background: The bcl-2 protein, contrast to p53, has been shown to be suppress the apoptosis, and overexpression of the bcl-2 protein has been reported in several malignant tumors. Although how the bcl-2 protein takes part in tumorigenesis has not been proved, the bcl-2 positive tumors appeared to have good prognosis in some malignant tumors. The expression pattern of the bcl-2 in melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma have not been well known. The authors analyzed immunohistochemically expression of the bcl-2 protein to investigate the role of the bcl-2 protein in developing malignant melanoma. Method: 10 malignant melanoma and 10 benign melanocytic nevi were immunostained with anti-bcl-2 monoclonal antibody. Results: In malignant melanoma, 1 case was 2+ positive, 9 cases were 3+ positive. In benign melanocytic nevi, 2 cases were 2+ positive, 8 cases were 3+ positive. Conclusion: Bcl-2 protein is expressed by benign melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma. There is no difference of bcl-2 protein expression in melanocytic nevi and malignant melanoma.

Purpose: Urinary tract infections are common in childhood and are most frequent in those under 1 year of age. In these children, however, differentiation of the pyelonephritis from cystitis is clinically difficult. We investigated the utility of color doppler image ultrasound in the diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis(APN) in children. Results were compared with renal cortical scintigraphy using 99mTC-DMSA. Materials and Methods : 99mTc-DMSA SPECT and color doppler ultrasound were performed within 1 week intervals in 14 patients with clinically suspected APN. (aged 4months to 15years: mean 6.1 year, 7 girls and 7boys). Urine culture was considered positive if greater than 100.000 colonied of a single organism were isolated. CDI was performed with 3.5NHz convex linear probe Ultramark 9(ATL., Bothell, Washington, USA) following a standard gray scale sonogram of the kidneys. Renal cortical scintigraphy was performed with 99mTc DMSA SPeCT(PRISM 2000, Picker, USA), Axial, coronal, both sagittal pinhole images were obtained 1.5-2 hour after 1mCi isotope was injected. Renal scan was considered to be abnormal and indicative of APN when there was a focal, wedged shaped defect in radionuclide accumulation extending from the periphery of the kidney to centrally or if there was diffuse abnormality in renal tubular function. Renal scarring was defined when defects were shallow lesions along the periphery of the kidney with evidence of volume loss, or if they could be shown from prior examination to pre-date of the acute episode. The color doppler image were interpreted to be consistent with APN if there was decrease flows in the renal cortex. Results: Of the 28 kidneys were examined, renal scan showed 5 cases of abnomal findings, 3 cases were APN, 2 cases were chronic scarring. Two fo the three cases of APN showed decreased blood flow on CDI and positive culture, for a sensitivy 67%. Two cases of renal scarring due to grade V bilateral vesicoureteral reflux show decreased blood flow at right upper pole kidney on CDI, however DMSA scan had diffculties finding the new lesion due to underlying irregularity of scarred kidney. Color doppler US correctly identified 4 of 5 renal poles with APN and 21 of 23with no APN including 2 patients with false positive. The DMSA scan was used as the standard of comparison the study; the CDI has a sensitivity 67%, specificity 84%, positive predictive value 33%, negative predictive value 95%. 84% The lesion showed decreased blood flow and on one follow up case increased blood flow. The presence of prior renal scarring made interpretation of asymmetric vascularity difficult on DMSA, the use of CDI may increase the diabnostic sensitivity of sonography in pediatric pyelonephritis.

게르마늄 내성효모의 성분분석

1. 게르마늄 내성효모는 64.0%의 높은 단백질을 함유하고 있었으며 일반효모보다 단백질의 함량이 증가하였으며, 지질, 총당, 환원당, 조다당의 함량도 감소, 또는 증가하는 등 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 게르마늄 내성효모의 총 지방산의 함량은 0.31㎍/g으로 일반효모보다 감소한 것을 알 수 있었으며 특히 포화 지방산의 함량은 현저히 감소하였다. 3. 내성효모균은 asparagine, glutamin acid, leucine의 함량 등의 아미노산 함량이 일반효모보다 증가하였으며, 일반효모균에 있던 cystein이 포함되지 않는 반면, 일반효모균에는 없었던 tyrosine이 포함되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 내성효모균 단백질의 Sephdex G-75 column과 DEAE-cellulose ion exchange column에 의한 분리 pattern을 일반효모균 단백질과 비교하여 보면, 큰 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와같이 게르마늄 함유배지에 적응시킨 내성효모의 성분이 일반효모균의 성분과 차이가 있는 것은 게르마늄이 효모세포내에 흡착되어 유기 게르마늄을 생합성하는 과정에서 효모세포내의 다른 성분들의 생합성과정에 영향을 미치는 것으로 추측된다. A germanium-tolerant yeast was derived by a series of subcultures in the media containing increasing Ge0_2 concentrations and incubated in the medium containing GeO_2(80ppm). The proximate compositions, polysaccharides, fatty acids and amino acids of germanium-tolerant yeast were analyzed and compared with those of wild-type yeast. The protein of germanium-tolerant yeast was also fractionated by Sephadex G-75 column chromatography and DEAE-cellose ion exchange chromatography and compared with those of wild-type yeast.

The study was conducted to investigate the biological activities of an protein-bound polysaccharide (GLP) isolated from the fruit body of Ganoderma lucidum. GLP was extracted by hot water and then it was purified high (GLP-HM) and low (GLP-LM) molecular weight fraction by ethanol precipitation. Both of GLP-HM and GLP-LM at doses of 20 mg/kg in vivo had the ability to inhibit the tumor growth of Sarcoma 180 tumor-bearing mice. Inhibition rates of tumor (%) were inhibited 60.6% and 38.7% by GLP-HM and GLP-LM, respectively. In assay of anti-complementary activity in vitro, the GLP-HM were higher than that of the GLP-LM polysaccharide. And also, the GLP-HM enhanced nitric oxide production of mouse bone marrow cells. When the GLP-HM was injected intraperitoneally in tumor-bearing mouse at doses of 20 mg/kg, the concentration of TNF-α in vivo was 140.9 pg/ml in the serum, 269.6 pg/ml in sarcoma tumor mass and 879.4 pg/ml in liver. This study shows that the high molecular polysaccharide from mushroom can enhance more the bioactivities than that of the low molecular polysaccharide.

The paper describes a CMOS analog circuit design tool, K_ACD(Kumoh_Analog Circuits Designer), and design results. The K_ACD was developed for automatic design of fundamental analog circuit blocks such as comparator, unbuffered OP AMP, and buffered OP AMP. For given specifications and process parameters, it computes bias currents, transistor sizes, voltage gain, and power dissipation, then SPICE simulations are automatically carried out. Some design examples show usefulness of the K_ACD in analog circuit designs.

신축 공동주택의 VOCs와 알데히드류 성분에 대한 실태조사

In comparison with other studies, in particular, the emission of indoor HCHO in new apartments were very serious and Vacs showed below the Japan's guidelines (260 ㎍/㎥) excepting toluene (324.31 ㎍/㎥). Concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including aldehydes in indoor air was analyzed at 3 new apartments (at the lower, middle and upper floors of each apartment) during the Spring in 2004. The sample gases of Vacs and aldehydes were collected by Silicon canister (6 L) and 2,4-DNPH cartridges, and the analysis was made by the GC/MSD and PLC. As a result of the analysis, formaldehyde (HCHO) amongst aldehydes was found the highest (874.63 ppb) at the upper floor of C Apt., and the aldehydes' concentrations were S > C > K Apt. each. Also it did not show an apparent variation of characteristics according to floor. The concentration of VOCs was the highest (819.22 ppb) at the upper floor of C Apt. which exhibited in proportion with height.
