사교육 경험과 EBS 방송 시청이 수학성취도에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구

본 연구는 사교육과 그의 대안으로 제시된 EBS 방송의 시청이 수학의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 다양한 양적 방법론을 통하여 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 그 중에서도 경향점수매칭법을 활용한 결합표집을 이용하여 다중회귀분석과의 비교를 실시하였다. 그 결과 t-test나 다중회귀분석이 준실험설계에 해당하는 경향점수매칭에 비해 두 제도 간 효과의 차이를 양의 방향으로 편향되게 측정하고 있음을 확인하였다. 특히 EBS 방송시청의 수학학업성취도에 대한 효과가 가설의 방향과 반대로 도출되었으며, EBS를 공교육의 개선방안의 캐치프라이즈로 삼기보다는 공교육의 근간을 유지한 상태에서 보완하는 형태로 제도를 운영해야 함을 주장한다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existing studies about the effect on private tutoring and EBS broadcasting which is considered as the alternative which was presented by education authorities. And this study attempts to measure the degree of the effects of private tutoring and EBS engagement on mathematics achievement using various quantitative methodologies. T-test and OLS multiple regression indicates some selection-bias which has positive direction compared to the PSM method closed to experimental design. So, it will be required to consider the methodology which measures the exact effect of institution or participation when we conduct the observational studies.

수준별 이동수업이 고등학생의 수학 성취도에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 - 경향점수매칭법(Propensity Score Matching)을 활용하여 -

본 연구의 목적은 수학의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향요인에 대하여 기존의 연구들을 분석하 고, 특히 학교수준에서 실시하고 있는 수학과 수준별 이동수업이 실질적으로 학생들의 수학 학 업성취도에 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다. 선택편의를 최소화하기 위해 한국 교육종단연구2005의 6차년도 데이터를 바탕으로 경향점수매칭법(propensity score matching)을 사용하여 수학 교과 수준별 이동수업이 수학성취도의 지표인 수능 수리영역 표준점수에 미치 는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 수준별 이동수업과 수학성취도 사이의 양의 관계가 있음을 확 인하였으며, 수준별 이동수업의 효과적 운영을 위해 정책적인 노력이 요구된다. In this study, we estimate the effect of ability grouping on mathematics achievement empirically. We use propensity score matching(PSM) method to minimize selection bias and estimate the effect of ability grouping on the mathematics standard score of Scholastic Ability Test with the KELS(Korea Education Longitudinal Study) 6th stage data. The result indicated that relationship between ability grouping and mathematics achievement is positive and Policy efforts is needed to operate ability grouping effectively.

Antidepressant-like Effects of the Gastrodia elata Bl Extract in Mice

Objectives :A growing body of evidence has suggested that the dysfunction of glutamatergic systems plays a pivotal role in major depressive disorder (MDD). This study was performed to investigate the antidepressant-like effects of the ethanolic extract of Gastrodia elata Bl (GE) in mouse models and to investigate the role of α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4- isoxazole-propionic acid (AMPA) receptors in producing these antidepressant-like effects.Methods :The forced swim test (FST) and tail suspension test (TST) were used to investigate GE's behavioral effects in mice. Additional biochemical and behavioral experiments with NBQX, an AMPA receptor antagonist, were undertaken to determine whether the antidepressant-like properties of GE are involved in AMPA receptor throughput.Results :Oral administration of GE extract (1,600 mg/kg) 1h prior to testing significantly reduced the immobility times in the FST and TST. These antidepressant-like effects of GE extract were increased dose-dependently. Pre-treatment with NBQX significantly attenuated the reduction in immobility time induced by the GE extract in the FST and TST.Conclusions :The ethanolic extract of GE may exert antidepressant-like effects with involvement of AMPA receptor.

마음챙김 기공이 소아청소년의 주의집중력에 미치는 영향

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Mindfulness-based concentration qigong for children (MBCQ-C) in healthy children with subjective poor attention. Methods: This study examined the effects of MBCQ-C on healthy children with subjective poor attention, who vistied Korean medicine hospital neuropsychiatry outpatient clinic. The MBCQ-C was practiced with 11 participants, 2 of them quit in the middle of the program, and hence, they were excluded for data analysis. MBCQ-C consisted of 8 sessions, and each session took about 60 minutes. The outcome measurement was Frankfurter Aufmerksamkeits-Inventar (FAIR), which measured selective attention, self-control and sustained attention. Results: The results of this study showed that selective attention, and sustained attention were significantly improved, Self-control also improved, but without any statistical significance. These results indicate MBCQ-C was effective for the improvement of attention abilities, but self-control, including upper cognition area needs more consistent exercise. Conclusions: The MBCQ-C consisting of 8 sessions were shown to be an effective intervention in improving the attention abilities of healthy children with subjective poor attention.

산림치유프로그램이 인지기능에 미치는 영향

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of 3 day Forests healing programs for cognitive improvement, which consists of helpful contents of Korean medicine. Methods: This study examined the effects of forests healing for mild cognitive impairment patients, who visited a Korean medicine hospital neuropsychiatry clinic for outpatients. The Forests healing programs for cognitive improvement was run with 24 participants, in which 9 of them quit in the middle of the program, so excluded in data analysis. The Forests healing programs for cognitive improvement was consisted of 3 day helpful Korean medicine contents. The primary outcome measurement was a Computerized Neurocognitive Test (CNT), which measured the cognitive functions with computer programs. Results: The results of this study showed that CNT scores were not significantly changed after 3 day forests healing. General psychological states, including depression, anxiety, and anger, were also checked. Among them, depressive mood significantly improved. Quality of life (QOL) was also enhanced after 3 day program. These results indicate that the 3 day Forests healing programs for cognitive improvement was effective for depressive mood and QOL of mild cognitive impairment patients, but not enough for cognitive functions directly. Conclusions: The 3 day Forests healing programs for cognitive improvement were shown to be an effective intervention in improving some aspects of mild cognitive impairment patients, including depressive mood, and QOL. We suggest that repeated participation of this program can enhance cognitive function of mild cognitive impairment patients.

A new species of the genus Perotripus (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Caprellidae) from Korea

From examination of caprellid specimens collected from Korea, we found a new species belonging to the genus Perotripus. This new species is clearly distinguished from two previously recorded species, P. brevis and P. keablei, in having an acute projection and blunt apex of distal segment of pereopod 5. This genus Perotripus is reported from Korea for the first time.We described it with figure in detail. As a result, Korean caprellid fauna consists of 35 species in seven genera.

Caprella Fauna (Amphipoda: Caprellidae) from off Yeonggwang Korea

Eight caprellids are collected from the several islands off Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do at June 2007. Among them Caprella chelimana Mayer, 1903 is newly added to the Korean caprellid fauna. We described this species with illustrations and mentioned some differences from Mayer’s original descriptions. Morphological Redescription of the Rare Caprellid Protogeton incertus (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Caprellidae) from Korea

Protogeton incertus Mayer, 1903 belonging to the family Caprellidae was collected from the South Sea, Korea. This species is very similar to Protogeton inflatus Mayer, but it is only distinguishable by the presence of biarticulate mandibular palp. Previous studies provided a very brief description of the species and lacked detailed illustration. In this study, the Korean Protogeton incertus is fully illustrated based on the mature and immature specimens.
