This study was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutrition education program developed for nutritionally imbalanced adolescents. A summer nutrition camp was held for 23 overweight and 16 underweight subjects. Its effectiveness with regard to was evaluated at the end of the camp and 6 months later. Nutrition knowledge, nutritional attitude, food behavior, nutrient intake, exercise habit and ideal body figures desired by the subjects. The results showed significantly higher nutrition knowledge scores at the end of the camp as compared to those obtained prior to the camp program, and these scores were maintained for at least six months. Nutrition attitude scores also improved after the education program, and these improved scores also lasted for 6 months. However, the food behavior scores measured 6 months after the education program were not significantly different from those obtained prior to the camp. Also, the exercise habit, the ideal body figures and the body figures desired by the subjects remained unchanged. When nutrient intakes of subjects were assessed before the program and 6 months later, the mean daily vitamin C intake was significantly increased after the education program. Also, the intake of iron from plant food sources increased in the overweight subjects, while less iron from animal source were consumed by the underweight subjects. Both groups tended to consume more vegetables and fruits 6 months after the education program which may have contribute to the higher vitamin C and plant-based iron intakes. These results indicate that a 4-day nutrition education camp program sustained changes in nutrition knowledge and nutrition attitude for 6 months. The increased intake of vegetables and fruits was also achieved through this education program. However, changes in dietary behavior in adolescents may require repeated education.

The honeysuckles constitute a sturdy group of semievergreen vines, some which can be grown in everywhere of the native mountains. As a group, they are not susceptible to serve disease troubles, which are easily grown and will usually produce a wealth of foliage, flower and fruit with very little care. They are perenial and deciduous climbing plants with strong vines, and flowered from June to September that are considerd as a good ornamental plants for Landscaping. Plants of honeysuckle are ordinarily able to be rooted from softwood or hardwood cuttings, the cutting itself being about 4-5cm long. This study was carried out to determine the effectiveness. of various rate of IBA and NAA treatment on rooting of honeysuckles (Lonicera japonica, Lonicera japonica var. aureoreticulata, Lonicera sempervirens) in the mist room and closed moist chamber. And the results obtained were as follows. Treatment of IBA and NAA increase! in the rooting percentage, rootlet number and length of root on the rooting of honeysuckle cuttings. The rooting percentage of honeysuckle cuttings with IBA 2000pprn 10 sec dip are higher than other rooting hormone treatment. IBA showed more promoting .effect than NAA treatment on the rooting of leafy softwood cuttings. Rooting percentage and number of root tended to have the hightest root system in the closed moist chamber than the mist room.

Quality characteristics of conventional and whey noodles were investigated by studying the textural properties, cooking properties, and sensory characteristics. The whey noodles were prepared by mixing whey powder with the wheat flour before noodle production, with the mixture ratio ranging between 1 and 7% in volume. The results are summarized as follows- the addition of whey powder noticeably improved the textural characteristics of the cooked noodles, i.e, hardness, gumminess, and chewiness. The best results were obtained using the following percentage of whey in the mixture: the hardness with 1% added, the gumminess and chewiness with 3% added, and the elasticity with a 7% addition. The tension force also increased with addition of whey powder. The highest tension force was obtained when 3% of the whey was mixed. While the cooking water of the general noodles displayed a light reddish tint, the cooking water of the whey noodles had a yellow-greenish tint. The cooking water of the whey noodles was more turbid than that of the conventional noodles. The whey noodles increased in volume more than the conventional noodles, after cooking. There was no difference in weight increase and water absorption rates between both types of noodles. More favorable results were shown for appearance, color, texture, and sensory acceptability in the whey noodle than in the conventional noodles.

Thirdly, adolescents were able to promote their views on sex and sexual decision-making by acquiring a proper knowledge of intimacy in dating relationships and of sex, and by candidly expressing their own opinions on sex with instructors. Fourthly, the program provided adolescents with an opportunity to look back on their leisure life with family members which had been neglected thus far and to renew their recognition of active leisure activities. Fifthly, the program provided adolescents with a chance to reflect on their unplanned consumption life and to be firmly determined to refrain from impulsive purchasing and extravagance.
