1. The cell viability was determined by MTT method. Their cytotoxic activities against three cancer cell lines such as A549, MDA-MB-231 and SNU-C4 cell line were tested. Among them, The methanol extract of Saururus chinensis Baill. showed the strongest cytotoxic effect against SNU-C4 cells. These results suggest that the methanol extract of Saururus Chinensis Baill. possessed a potential antitumorous agent. 2. In vitro the antitoxic activity of ethanol extract of Saururus Chinensis Bail on NIH 3T3 fibroblasts was evaluate by the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl- thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetra캐lium bromide) and SRB (sulforhodamine B protein) assays. The number of NIH 3T3 fibroblasts were increased and tend to regenerate. These results suggest that Saururus Chinensis Bail extract retains a potential antitoxic activity. 3. Complexation of Cd (II) ion with ligands such as quercetin has been determined by UV-vis spectrophotometric method in tris buffer solution at various pH. It was found that only 1 : 1 Cd-complex is formed by the interaction between catechol moiety in ring B and cadmium [Cd(II)] in aqueous solution. The spectral parameters for Cd-complex were determined by Beer's law at various pH. It has shown that 1 : 1 Cd-complex has a maximum absorbance and red shift by the alkaline pH.

본 논문은 토픽 모델링(Topic Modeling)의 latent Dirichlet allocation(LDA) 분석 방법을 적용하여 박근혜 정부 4년간 관련 신문 사설을 분석한 연구이다. 수집된 사설은 LDA를 적용하여 토픽(Topic)으로 분류하고 토픽별 보도량을 살펴봄으로써 박근혜 관련 사설에 나타난 국내의 보수와 진보성향을 대표하는 조선일보와 한겨레의 이슈소유권을 비교 분석하였다. 빅데이터 분석 결과, 총 23개의 주요 토픽이 도출되었는데, 토픽의 점유율 특성으로 볼 때 조선일보는 국회, 정당, 북핵, 경제, 지명직 인사 등과 관련하여 지속적으로 점유율 우위를 점하고 있었고, 정치와 경제 및 북핵 관련 공안 이슈를 지속적으로 제기했다. 이에 반해 한겨레는 폭로 저널리즘 성향이 강하게 나타났는데, 우리사회의 주요 정치, 사회, 경제 부문의 문제가 있는 상황을 꾸준히 제기하면서 새로운 토픽을 지속 발굴, 보도하는 성향을 확인했다. 연구진은 커뮤니케이션 연구에서 토픽 모델링이라는 빅데이터 분석 방법을 차용함으로써 기존에 정성적으로 많이 진행해왔던 내용분석에 대한 보완적 방법으로 대규모 텍스트 분석을 위한 의미 있는 접근이기를 기대해본다. This paper tried to analyze the editorials about the former president, Park Geun-Hye, of two prestigious newspapers in Korea, by taking advantages of big-data analysis "Topic Modeling." By applying LDA in an analysis, topics were sorted by specific issues and then filed by issues and words, and then compared two newspapers, Chosun vs. Hankyoreh. As a result of big data analysis, a total of 23 main topics were found. In terms of topic types and reporting time-span of issues, the Chosun emphasized such topics as national assembly, political parties, the nuclear problem of North Korea, economy, etc. Whereas the Hankyoreh delivered more various pending issues such as politics, educations, and social agenda than traditional big topics. We expect the paper contributes to expanding methodological tools to supplement a traditional research method of "content analysis", especially focusing on conveniences and benefits of "Topic Modeling."

Background/Aims: It has been suggested that admission hyperglycemia is associated with poor clinical outcomes in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between admission hyperglycemia and short-long term prognosis in patients with AMI. Methods: A total of 6,030 AMI patients without a previous history of diabetes were enrolled between Nov. 2005 and Jan. 2008. The patients were divided into three groups according to the levels of admission glucose levels: group I (<140 mg/dL, n=3,307), group II (140~199 mg/dL, n=1,946), and group III (≥200 mg/dL, n=777). In-hospital and one-year mortality were compared among three the groups. Results: The mean age was 64.3±13.3, 65.9±12.7, and 67.7±13.0 years in group I, II and III, respectively. The proportion of female gender (23.9%, 29.5%, 35.0%; p<0.001), Killip class III-IV (8.9%, 12.3%, 28.3%; p<0.001), ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (54.6%, 71.5%, 71.7%; p<0.001), and in-hospital mortality (3.5%, 7.5%, 19.7%; p<0.001) increased with higher tertiles of elevated values of initial serum glucose. Hazard ratio (HR) for mortality rate were significantly increased in group II [HR=1.19, 95% confidential interval (Cl) 1.02~1.40, p=0.032], and in group III [HR=1.91, 95% Cl 1.59~2.30, p=0.001], compared with group I. And also significant differences were existed between group II and group III [HR =1.55, 95% Cl 1.27~1.88, p=0.001]. Conclusions: Admission glucose in patients with AMI provides incremental prognostic value, and significantly correlates with in-hospital and one-year mortalities.
