        In recent, the government is implementing the policy for development into 'low carbon green city'. Also, the each municipal government is trying to establish its paradigm that considers the regional characteristics with the energy policy of the central government. Also the Chungju city planning Business-friendly city and constructing the Chungju high-tech industrial park for forming green city connected with 'Asia Solar Valley' of Chungcheongbuk-do. This study aims to suggest the plan cultivating the solar energy industry of Chungju city. For the study, the cultivating plans of Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeung Pyeong-gun are analyzed. As a result, the solar energy infrastructure plan, distribution plan, and industrialization plan are suggested for Chungju solar energy industry.

      • 그람양성구균에 대한 Teicoplanin과 Vancomycin의 시험관내 항균력

        An increasing frequency of methicillin resistant S. aureus(MRSA), methicillin resistant coagulase negative staphylococci(MRCNS) and Enterococcal infection have been observed in recent years. Teicoplanin is a new glycopeptide antibiotic obstained from the Actinoplanes teicomycetius. The molecular structure and spectrum of antimicrobial activity of teicoplanin is simillar to those of vancomycin, and has been reported to have an excellent in vitro and in vivo effect against various gram-positive infections. Therefore, we evaluated the in vitor susceptibility of gram positive cocci, such as, S. aureus, coagulase negative Staphylococci(CNS), and Enterococci to teicoplanin and vancomycin. The total 253 strains consisted of MSSA(40), MRSA(53), MSCNS(47), MRCNS(48), and Enterococci(65). They were assayed by disc diffusion and agar dilution. During the study, 57% of S. aureus and 49% of CNS showed resistance to methicillin. The inhibitory diameter of teicoplanin was 15-20mm in MSSA, 12-19mm in MRSA, 13-24mm in MSCNS, 11-23mm in MRCNS, and 15-22mm in Enterococci respectively, and showed sensitivity in all but 8 strains(3.2%). The range of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of teicoplanin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS and Enterococci were 9.12-2.0㎍/ml, 0.25-2.0㎍/ml, & 0.25-32㎍/ml, 0.12-1.0㎍/ml respectively. One case of S. haemolyticus was resistant to teicoplanin (32㎍/ml) by the agar dilution method. Eight minor (3.2%) and one major(0.4%) error was observed when the MIC and disk diffusion data were correlated with teicoplanin. As for vancomycin the inhibitory diameter was 17-21mm in MSSA, 15-21mm in MRSA, 18-26mm in MSCNS, 18-25mm in MRCNS, and 16-22mm in Enterococci respectively. The range of the MIC of vancomycin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS, and Enterococci were 0.25-1.0㎍/ml, 0.25-4.0㎍/ml, 0.5-2.0㎍/ml and 0.5-2.0㎍/ml respectively. One minor error (0.4%) was seen with the vancomycin disk. The MIC90 of MSSA and MRSA exhibited the same results in teicoplanin (1.0㎍/ml, 1.0㎍/ml), and vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). MSCNS and MRCNS exhibited greater MIC90 with teicoplanin(4.0㎍/ml, 8.0㎍/ml) than vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). Incontrase Enterococci were more susceptible to teicoplanin(0.5㎍/ml) than to vancomucin (2.0㎍/ml). Results from this analysis indicated that both teicoplanin and vancomycin were very excellent for gram positive infections, especially those resistant to methicillin.

      • Eye pupil detection system using an ensemble of regression forest and fast radial symmetry transform with a near infrared camera

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this paper, we focus on pupil center detection in various video sequences that include head poses and changes in illumination. To detect the pupil center, we first find four eye landmarks in each eye by using cascade local regression based on a regression forest. Based on the rough location of the pupil, a fast radial symmetric transform is applied using the previously found pupil location to rearrange the fine pupil center. As the final step, the pupil displacement is estimated between the previous frame and the current frame to maintain the level of accuracy against a false locating result occurring in a particular frame. We generated a new face dataset, called Keimyung University pupil detection (KMUPD), with infrared camera. The proposed method was successfully applied to the KMUPD dataset, and the results indicate that its pupil center detection capability is better than that of other methods and with a shorter processing time.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Using a near IR camera to detect eye pupil region. </LI> <LI> Using an ensemble of regression forest and fast radial symmetry transform. </LI> <LI> The pupil displacement is estimated to maintain the level of accuracy. </LI> <LI> Pupil detection accuracy is higher than those of related algorithms. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Poster Session : PS 1488 ; Allergy : A Case of Successful Treatment with Imatinib Mesylate in FIP1L1-PDGFRA-Positive Hypereosinophilic Syndrome

        Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is characterized by the absolute eosinophil count is≥ 1,500/mm3 for more than 6 months without any recognizable cause, and tissue damage is present. HES is subdivided into several clinically relevant variants. Myeloproliferative variant with gene mutation of fip1 like 1.platelet derived growth factor receptor.alpha (fiP1L1.PDGFRA), a kind of tyrosine kinase, is known to response dramatically to tyrosine kinase inhibitor such as imatinib mesylate. However, there were only a few case reports which described treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors in fiP1L1.PDGFRA.positive HES. Here, we described a case of successful treatment with imatinib mesylate in fiP1L1.PDGFRA.positive HES. A 30.year.old male patient was referred to tertiary hospital for eosinophilia, weight loss and chronic fatigue which persisted for 2 months. The evaluation for peripheral blood eosinophilia was performed, and the results were as followed. A peripheral blood smear and chemistry yielded marked eosinophilia with mild anemia and increased serum level of vitamin B12, respectively. Chest PA and chest computed tomography (CT) revealed mild hepatosplenomegaly. Stool exam and serologic test for parasites turned to be negative. Serum total IgE was within normal range. Bone marrow exam yielded bone marrow hypercellularity, and RT.PCR was positive for gene mutation of fiP1L1.PDGFRA, but not for that of fiP1L1.PDGFRB. The patient`s case was diagnosed as a fiP1L1. PDGFRA.positive myeloproliferative variant of HES. The patient received methylprednisolone and imatinib mesylate thereafter. Follow up studies showed that peripheral eosinophilia was resolved. After four months, a fiSH study for fiP1L1.PDGFRA showed that abnormal cells which presented 4q12 (CHIC2) deletion or PDGFRA.fiP1L1 fusion were no longer found. We report a case of fiP1L1.PDGFRA.positive myeloproliferative variant of HES which showed prompt and complete hematological response to treatment with imatinib mesylate.

        Early Detection of Sudden Pedestrian Crossing for Safe Driving During Summer Nights

        <P>Sudden pedestrian crossing (SPC) is the major reason for pedestrian-vehicle crashes. In this paper, we focus on detecting SPCs at night for supporting an advanced driver assistance system using a far-infrared (FIR) camera mounted on the front roof of a vehicle. Although the thermal temperature of the road is similar to or higher than that of the pedestrians during summer nights, many previous researches have focused on pedestrian detection during the winter, spring, or autumn seasons. However, our research concentrates on SPC during the hot summer season because the number of collisions between pedestrians and vehicles in Korea is higher at that time than during the other seasons. For real-time processing, we first decide the optimal levels of image scaling and search area. We then use our proposed method for detecting virtual reference lines that are associated with road segmentation without using color information and change these lines according to the turning direction of the vehicle. Pedestrian detection is conducted using a cascade random forest with low-dimensional Haar-like features and oriented center-symmetric local binary patterns. The SPC is predicted based on the likelihood and the spatiotemporal features of the pedestrians, such as their overlapping ratio with virtual reference lines, as well as the direction and magnitude of each pedestrian's movement. The proposed algorithm was successfully applied to various pedestrian data sets captured by an FIR camera, and the results show that its SPC detection performance is better than those of other methods.</P>

      • Driver Facial Landmark Detection in Real Driving Situations

        <P>This paper proposes a novel facial landmark detection (FLD) algorithm for use in real driving situations. The proposed algorithm is based on an ensemble of local weighted random forest regressor (WRFR) with random sampling consensus (RANSAC) and explicit global shape models, and considers the dynamic and irregular characteristics of driving. In this paper, to estimate the offset distance from a landmark and a reference point, we first detect the nose region as a reference point. Next, we propose a local WRFR to maintain the generality with a small number of regression trees. With the WRFR, we adopt RANSAC instead of the averaging or median of offsets to handle the problem of sensitivity to outlier offsets, and we estimate the accurate 2D offset vector. To identify the erroneous positions of local landmarks and rearrange the overall landmark layout, we adopt the global face models based on the spatial relation between landmarks. Using the unified framework of the proposed FLD, our proposed algorithm is robust to large head poses and partial occlusions caused by a driver’s hair or sunglasses. For a benchmark data set considering real driving situations, we construct a data set called a face alignment data set used in driving (FADID) using a near-infrared camera for FLD under real driving situations. We apply the proposed algorithm to various driving sequences in FADID, and the results show that its FLD performance is better than that of other state-of-the-art methods, while the computational speed is high for real-time applications such as driver-state monitoring systems.</P>

      • MPEG-7 시각 기술자와 멀티 클래스 SVM을 이용한 의료 영상 분류와 검색

        본 논문은 의료 영상에 대한 효과적인 분류와 검색을 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 영상 분류와 검색을 위해서 MPEG-7 표준 기술자인 색 구조 기술자와 경계선 히스토그램 기술자를 사용해 영상들에 대한 특징 값을 추출한다. 이렇게 구해진 특징 값들을 의료 영상의 분류와 검색에 적용해 본 결과 비교적 낮은 성능을 보여줌을 확인하고 앞서 구해진 특징 값들을 교사 학습 방법인 SVM(Support Vector Machine)과 비교사 학습 방법인 FCM(Fuzzy C-means Clustering)에 적용시켰다. 기존 연구에서는 SVM과 FCM의 통합으로 의료 영상에 대한 분류와 검색을 시행하였지만 본 논문에서 실험한 결과 SVM과 MPEG-7 시각 기술자 중에 하나인 EHD(Edge Histogram Descriptor)를 가중치 선형 결합하여 실험한 결과가 더 정확한 분류와 높은 검색 성능을 나타냄을 확인하였다.
