Synovial chondromatosis is a benign lesion forming multiple round cartilagenous nodules or osseous loose bodies in joint cavity. Predilection sites are known as knee, hip and elbow joints. However, the involvement of ankle joint was rarely reported in the literature. Moreover, extraarticular chondromatosis in synovial sheath or bursa of extremities is extremely rare. We present a case of synovial chondromatosis of the left ankle joint and flexor hallucis longus tendon sheath.

본 연구는 금융위기에 대응하기 위한 재정정책 관련 조치들을 시점에 따라 정리하고, 확장적 재정정책이 거시변수에 미친 영향을 살펴봄으로써 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 데 주안점을 두고 있다. 금융위기에 대응한 확장적 재정정책의 규모는 총 59.8조원(2007년 GDP 대비 6.1%)으로 파악되었다. 이 중 일시적인 재정지출의 증가는 2008년 추경, 2009년 예산안 수정, 2009년 추경 등을 통해 이루어졌으며, 총규모는 30.5조원으로 추계되었다. 더불어 감세는 2008년 및 2009년 세제개편을 중심으로 이루어졌는데, 총규모는 29.3조원으로 파악되었다. 일시적인 재정지출 확대 및 감세에 따른 거시변수의 동태적 변화를 살펴본 결과, 감세효과를 제외한 순수한 재정지출의 일시적 증가로 인한 실질GDP 성장률 제고효과는 재정확대가 없었을 경우와 비교하여 2009년에 1.1%p, 2010년에 0.3%p 정도로 나타났다. 한편 감세정책을 포함한 확장적 재정정책의 효과를 감안한 경우 실질GDP 성장률 제고효과는 더욱 크게 나타났다. 2009년의 경우 실질GDP는 추가적으로 1.9%p 정도 증가한 것으로 나타났는데, 이 중 지출확대에 의한 증가가 1.1%p, 감세에 따른 증가가 0.8%p 정도인 것으로 추정되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 볼 때, 2008년 하반기 이후 금융위기 기간 동안 실시된 확장적 재정정책은 한국경제가 금융위기에 따른 경기침체로부터 예상보다 빠른 회복세를 시현하는 데 중요한 역할을 한 것으로 평가된다. This study outlines measures related to fiscal policies aimed at responding to the financial crisis according to the timing of commencement and then examines impacts of expansionary fiscal policies on macro variables so as to extract policy implications. The size of expansionary fiscal policy to respond to the financial crisis is found to total 59.8 trillion won (6.1% of GDP in 2007), among which a total of 30.5 trillion won was the increased fiscal expenditure made by the 2008 supplementary budget, the 2009 revised budget and the 2009 supplementary budget. In addition, tax reductions are found to be a total of 29.3 trillion won, mainly driven by the tax reforms in 2008 and 2009. Examining dynamic changes in macro variables caused by the temporary increase in fiscal expenditure and the tax reductions reveals that the increase effect of the real GDP growth rate brought by a temporary rise in fiscal expenditure excluding tax reduction effects turned out to be 1.1%p in 2009 and 0.3%p in 2010, compared to the period without the increase in fiscal expenditure. Meanwhile, when taking into account the effect of expansionary fiscal policies including tax reduction effects, the increase effect of real GDP turns out to be much higher. In the case of 2009, the real GDP rose additionally by 1.9%p, in which 1.1%p by the increase in fiscal expenditure and 0.8%p by tax reduction. Based on these results, the expansionary fiscal policy conducted during the financial crisis since the second half of 2008 can be seen to have played a significant role in helping the Korean economy post a higher-than-anticipated recovery pace from the economic slowdown triggered by the crisis.

은행 가공산업에서 부산물로 제거되는 은행 외종피의 활용성을 증대시키고자 다양한 생리활성에 미치는 열처리의 영향을 살펴보았다. 은행 외종피를 분리하여 $130^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리한 후 물, 70% 에탄올 및 80% 메탄올 추출물을 제조하여 생리활성변화를 살펴본 결과, ABTS와 DPPH 자유라디칼 소거활성은 80% 메탄올 추출물을 제외하고, 열처리 후 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 물 추출물에서 각각 14.95 mg AAE/g과 7.36 mg TE/g으로 높게 나타났다. ${\alpha}$-Glucosidase 저해 활성은 물 추출물을 제외하고 열처리 시 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 열처리 전 80% 메탄올 추출물에서 98.66%로 가장 높게 나타났다. Angiotensin converting enzyme I 저해 활성은 추출물 간의 유의적인 차이가 없었으며(P>0.05), 열처리 후 모두 감소하였다. 산화질소 생성억제 활성은 열처리 시 증가하였으며, 물 추출물($200{\mu}g/mL$)이 $12.33{\mu}M$로 LPS 처리구에 비해 산화질소 생성량을 72.39% 감소시켰다. 지방구 축적억제 활성은 세포독성을 보이지 않는 농도에서 열처리 시 감소하였다. 유방암 세포주에 대한 항암 활성은 열처리 후 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이상의 결과로부터 은행 외종피 추출물의 다양한 생리활성을 확인하였으며, 특히 열처리 후 항산화 활성과 유방암 세포주에 대한 증식억제 활성이 크게 증가하였으며, 추후 생리활성물질의 규명 연구가 필요하다고 판단된다. This study was performed to investigate the physiological activities of Ginkgo biloba sarcotesta extracts before and after heat treatment. G. biloba sarcotesta was heated at $130^{\circ}C$ for 2 h and extracted with water, 70% ethanol and 80% methanol. ABTS and DPPH radical scavenging activities increased after heating in the water (14.95 mg AAE/g and 7.36 mg TE/g) and ethanol extracts (12.20 mg AAE/g and 6.23 mg TE/g). ${\alpha}$-Glucosidase inhibitory activity decreased after heating in all but the water extract. Angiotensin converting enzyme I inhibitory activities decreased after heating in all extracts. Nitric oxide production inhibitory activity increased from 12.40~44.55% of the raw sample to 40.76~72.39% of the heated sample at a concentration of $200{\mu}g/mL$. Lipid accumulation inhibitory activities were similar before and after heat treatment. The highest antiproliferative effects on MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines were observed in 80% methanol extract in the heated sample. Cell viability at concentrations of 25, 50, 100, and $200{\mu}g/mL$ measured 34.88, 17.58, 8.44 and 10.48%, respectively. From the results, the antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of G. biloba sarcotesta extracts increased with heat treatment, and research on the identification of the structure for the active compounds are needed in further studies.
백서 두개골 결손부에서 홍화씨 추출물의 골조직 재생 유도 효과

The ultimate goal of periodontal therapy is the regeneration of periodontal tissue and repair of function. For more than a decade there have been many efforts to develop materials and methods of treatment to promote periodontal wound healing. Recently many efforts are concentrated on the regeneration potential of material used in oriental medicine. In some in vitro and in vivo experiments, there have been many evidences that these materials have an effect on bone regeneration. The purpose of this study was to evaluate histologically and radiologically in Sprague-Dawley rats the effects of safflower seed extracts on the regeneration of the calvarial defects surgically produced. So in this study, the critical size defects were surgically produced in the calvarial bone of 30 Sprague-Dawley rats using the 8mm trephine bur. The safflower seed extract was applied into the defect of each rat in experimental group, whereas nothing was applied into the defect of each rat in control group. Rats were sacrificed at 2, 4, 8 weeks following operation and histomorphometric and radiodensitometric analysis were performed. 1. The newly formed bone length was $102.91{\pm}22.05$, $178.29{\pm}24.40$ at 2 week in the each control, experimental group, $130.95{\pm}39.24$, $242.62{\pm}50.33$ at 4 week and $181.53{\pm}76.35$, $240.36{\pm}22.00$ at 8 week($unit,{\mu}m$). In the 2, 4 week, there were statistically significant difference between control and experimental group(P<0.05). 2. The newly formed bone area was $2962.06{\pm}1284.48$, $10648.35{\pm}1284.48$ at 2 week, $5103.25{\pm}1375.88$, $9706.78{\pm}1481.81$ at 4 week, $8046.02{\pm}818.99$, $12057.06{\pm}740.47$ at 8 week($unit,{\mu}m^2$). In every week, there were statistically significant difference between control and experimental group(P<0.05). 3. The radiopacity was $14.26{\pm}.33$, $25.47{\pm}4.33$ at 2 week, $20.06{\pm}9.07$, $26.61{\pm}2.78$ at 4 week, $22.99{\pm}3.76$, $27.29{\pm}1.54$ at 8 week(unit, %). In the 2 week, there was statistically significant difference between control and experimental group(P<0.05). In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that safflower seed extract initially has an effect on the newly formed bone area, length and radiopacity when it is applied to the calvarial defect of Sprague - Dawley rat. Then. the material has an effect on newly formed bone area and length.
