        The effects of unilateral occlusion of the common carotid simultaneous occlusion of vertebral arteries on the cerebral lactic acid production were evaluated on the 50 rabbits. The lactic acid concentration of the slices of rabbit brain cortex, thalamus, cerebellum and medulla oblongata which ligated only right common carotid artery or that simultaneously ligated right vertebral artery for 5 or 15 minutes respectively were estimated by Barker and Summerson method. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The lactic acid production was not influence in the groups of single occlusion of the common carotid artery. 2) In the groups of simultaneous occlusion of common carotid and vertebral arteries, the lactic acid production of cerebral cortex and medulla oblongata increased but residual cerebral regions still remained within normal limits.

        당밀의 첨가가 갈근탕박 사일리지의 품질과 산양의 기호성에 미치는 영향

        Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of molasses supplementation to silage materials in ensiling Galgeuntang (herbal medicine) meal on the quality of silage, and its palatability in Korean native goats. In experiment Ⅰ, molasses was added at the levels of 0, 0.5, and 1.0% to Galgeuntang meal with three replicates per treatment. In experiment Ⅱ, three 1.5-yr-old Korean native goats were used to measure palatability. In experiment Ⅰ, lactic acid contents in molasses treatments were significantly(p<0.05) higher, and pH and butyric acid contents were lower than those of non-molasses treatment. In addition, molasses treatment increased total microbial cell counts in MRS medium for lactobacillus, but decreased total microbial cell counts in PDA medium for fungi. Molasses supplementation to silage materials increased in vitro dry matter disappearance. Molasses supplementation tended to increase silage intake in Korean native goat (experiment Ⅱ), but the difference was not significant(p>0.05). It is concluded that molasses supplementation to silage materials in ensiling herbal medicine meal could improve its preservability and palatability, the higher the better.

      • 전자선치료시 유효 선원 피부간 거리 결정에 관한 연구

        Under the various clinical circumstances, there is a condition to change source to skin distance(SSD). It is possible to correct photon beam by well-known inverse square law. On the other hand, the electron beam is not exact location of source, that's why it is difficult to apply as it is. In case of electron beam, we should correct the difference of SSD by measure effective SSD . There are many ways to measure effective SSD. In this study, Faiz Khan's method was used. The measurement energy is 6,9,12,16,20 MeV and field size is set standard applicator 6×6, 10×10, 15×15, 20×20, 25x25㎠. From the bottom of the standard applicator to skin distance is set to 5㎝. So we measured dose at the gap to 0∼20㎝. According to a production company of linear accelerator, or even though same production company, the qualities of electron beam can be different. So, effective SSD can be different every several accelerator. Therefore, it is desirable to use the effective SSD measured at every electron beam energy and field size actually.

      • 竝流흐름 氣泡塔內에서 가스 홀드업에 관한 硏究 : Specially on aqueous of inorganic salts 無機鹽 水溶液을 中心으로

        Gas hold-up was studies according to the changes of Gas and liquid velocity, physical properties, geometrical type of distributor, and temperature for aqueous solution of inorganic salts in a cocurrent flow bubble column. The results were as follows: 1. σf decreases according to the concentration increases. especially this phenomenon was remarkably appeared in aqueous solution of potassium nitrate. 2. The effect of temperature on the gas hold-up was not found when the gas velocity is less than 3.65 cm/sec, but gas hold-up with temperature increase of solution rises up beyond gas velocity of 3.65 cm/sec. 3. The effect of solution velocity to the gas hold-up was not found when the solution velocity is less than 1.76 cm/sec, but gas hold-up with solution velocity increase lay down beyond solution velocity of 1.76 cm/sec. 4. The nondimensional equation by experimental data was represented in equation(7),(8).

        응급실에서의 확산강조 자기공명 영상

        Background: This study was designed to review the cases of patients who had undergone diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(DWI) in the emergency department(ED), and to investigate its clinical usefulness and current indications. Methods: We analyzed the cases of 152 consecutive patients who underwent DWI in the ED from Jan to Mar 2001. DWI was obtained with the use of a multislice, single-shot, spin-echo plana imaging technique(GE SignaR). Imaging time was less than one minute. The medical records, the DWI films and the computed topography results were reviewed. We investigated the chief complaint, initial findings of physical examination, final diagnosis, decision-making department, interval from admission to imaging, and DWI findings. Results: DWI showed positive findings of high signal intensity in 84 patients(55.3%). Among the 68 patients who yielded a negative result, false negative occurred with 12 patients(17.6%): 10 lacunar infarctions, a pons infarction, and a brainstem infarction. Eleven patients were determined as having a cerebral hemorrhage, all of whom showed the abnormal finding of a mixed signal in DWI. The sensitivity and the specificity of DWI to rule out stroke were 85.5% and 98%, respectively. Current indications for DWI in our ED are age older than 60, alert mental status, and one of the symptoms or signs among lateralyzing sign, language disturbance, and dizziness/vertigo. Conclusion: DWI was highly specific to rule out stroke, so emergency care professionals should be familiar with this new technology. Further prospective study is required to determine the proper indications and clinical usefulness of DWI in the ED.

        The brief contents about the background of the appearance of Seo-won in Yi-Dynasty, the actual state of its education and its social role are as follows : 1. Our nation’s Seo-won was not settled as a Confucian educational institute until Sun Confucianism (性理學) was introduced in the middle of Yi-Dynasty. 2. The ultimate purpose of the Seo-won education was to establish the permanent aim of the following saints (法聖賢) and to cultivate sages by laying emphases on the ethical and moral education and the state examination education. 3. So-hak (小學) and Ka-lye (家禮) were introductory courses and Sa-se (四書) and Oh-kyeong (五經) were fundamental ones in the contents of education. 4. It took the educational method of Joo Ja (朱子) in Song-Dynasty and emphasized practical moral education by autere training syatem. 5. They administered it by the income of real estate which they secured, while they expanded its paddy fields with surplus income. 6. The educational system and equipment of Seo-won was similar to that of China which had a director and Yoo Sa (有司) system although there was some difference according to the class of Seo-won. 7. Seo-won did its duty as the distribution of information, the promotion of Confucianism, the enlightment of their countries, the inheritance of their traditional culture, the foundation of science and the publication or custody of publications.

      • 내열 복합재료용 모재 수지의 개질 연구

        내열 복합재료용 모재 수지의 개질 특성과 공정 변수에 대한 연구를 위하여, N.BMI를 첨가한 에폭시 수지를 모재로 하는 적층판의 물성이 N.BMI의 첨가량에 따라 변화하는 것을 알아보기 위하여 기계적 물성 실험을 실시하였으며, 또한 승온속도의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 DSC와 TGA를 이용한 열분석을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 승온속도가 빠른 경우 peak 온도가 지정 경화온도보다 높게 나타나므로 모재 수지의 불균일 경화반응이 일어날 수있음을 알수 있었다. 내열성 향상을 위해 N.BMI를 첨가하는 경우 10% 함유량에서 가장 우수한 특성을 나타내었다. The purpose of this project is to study the influence of heat-up rateduring cure cycle on the homogeneity of cured matrix resin and the effects of resin formulation on the thermal properties of fiber reinforced composite materials. The results of DSC analysis show that with the rapid heat-up rate, the homogeneity of matrix resin can not be achieved during normal cure cycle. The TG analyses have been performed on the various types of epoxy matrix resins. The results show that the formulation with BMI is stable to the temperature of 348℃ which is comparable to that of 350°F type prepreg.
