The study of Electroluminescence has been begun with that the two Germans, B. Gudden & R. W. Pohl in 1920 examined the remaining lights by dint of adding Electric Field at the fluorescent substance, and from 1952 the study became brisk, in 1960 made a peak, and afterward it was diminished. The above facts were appeared through H. E. Ivey`s investigation. The cause was it that the light-efficiency and the brightness were very pessimistic, though the beginning of EL-Study was given in the development of illumination. In 1950, however, with the initiative that C. W. Jerome of Sylvania Co. deviced and announced EL-Lamp, EL-Fluorescent substances were embed and merchandised as EL-Panels, and after a while it was applied to EL-Lamps, Expression Apparatuses, Light Amplifier, Logic Circuit and so on, with which the use frequency got high, and it has been developed as a promising Electronic Industry. But in our country, considering the various conditions, in order to find out the possibility of EL-Production within the home country, Impurity was introduced to ZnS powder, EL of ZnS : Cu, Cl & ZnS : Cu, Mn, Cl could be manufactured, and surveying the Voltage Characteristics, the Frequency Characteristics, and the Spectral Response of the manufactured things, the fundamental technique-problems about the composition of ZnS powder, the introduction of impurity, the formation of thin-thickness, and the construction of Cell, etc were solved gradually. 1. The quantity of Cu must commonly be more one order than in the use of Photoluminescence, as a whole 10(-3)gm,atm/mole ZnS is fitted, and Mn suitable in about 10 times of Cu. 2. Yellow color must dope Cu as well as Mn, when the quantity of Cu fixed to a certain amount, in case that the quantity of Mn is decreased, it be turned into Yellow color, if it is increased, it be taken Orange color. 3. In vacuum flowing HzS gas and baking at the moment, it is said that EL of which brightness is high, but in the air we can secure ZnS : Cu, Cl EL. only. 4. In referring to the conditions 1, 2, 3, I can infer that EL-manufacture if possible in our country.

Background/Aims: Surgeons must be aware of risk factors for strictures before performing endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), to enable early interventions to prevent severe strictures. Methods: This study was a single-center retrospective study. We reviewed the clinical data of patients who has undergone gastric ESD from January 2007 to December 2012. Results: Among the 3,819 patients who had undergone gastric ESD, 11 patients (7.2%) developed pyloric strictures and received successful endoscopic balloon dilation. Significant differences were noted between the patients without and with post-ESD strictures for pretreatment of antral or pyloric deformities (46.4% vs 81.8%), the proportion of extension to the lumen circumference (>3/4, 9.4% vs 54.5%), the longitudinal extent of mucosal defects (27.9±10.1 mm vs 51.5±10.8 mm), and post-ESD bleeding (2.9% vs 27.3%). Multivariate analysis revealed that pretreatment antral or pyloric deformities (odds ratio [OR], 30.53; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.476 to 631.565; p=0.027), larger longitudinal extent of mucosal defects (OR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.074 to 1.340; p=0.001), and circumferential extension of ≥3/4 (OR, 13.69; 95% CI, 1.583 to 118.387; p=0.017) were independent risk factors for post-ESD stricture. Conclusions: Antral or pyloric deformities, sub-circumferential resection over more than 75% of the circumference and greater longitudinal extent of mucosal defects are independent risk factors for post-ESD stricture. Background: Post-endoscopic resection stricture is one of delayed complications of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Therefore, it is important to be aware of risk factors of stricture before performing ESD. Because early interventions including endoscopic balloon dilatation or local steroid injection is necessary to prevent severe stricture. The aim of this study is to determine the clinical factors associated with pyloric stricture after ESD in gastric neoplasm and risk factors of post-ESD stricture. Methods: A total 150 gastric neoplasms at prepylorus and pylorus treated by ESD between 2007 and 2012 at a single institution were reviewed. Post-ESD stricture which could not be passed by a standard endoscope was treated with endoscopic balloon dilation. Results: Antral deformity and sub-circumferential resection over 75% of the circumference are independent risk factors for post-endoscopic resection stricture and balloon dilation at prepylorus and pylorus. Eleven patients were received endoscopic balloon dilation (7. 2%) for treatment of post-ESD stricture. All 11 patients were successfully treated by endoscopic balloon dilation. Signifi cant differences between non balloon dilation group and dilation group were found in age (67. 4±10. 3 years vs. 73. 6±6. 0 years), pretreatment antral deformity (46. 4% vs. 81. 8%), tumor size (10. 8±5. 9mm vs. 23. 5±17. 5mm), the proportion of extension to the whole circumference of the lumen (=3/4: 90. 6% vs. 45. 5%, >3/4: 9. 4% vs. 54. 5%) and tumor location (anterior wall: 33. 6% vs. 9. 1%, greater curve: 15. 7% vs. 54. 5%). Multivariate analysis revealed that pretreatment antral deformity (odds ratio [OR]:10. 787; 95% confi dence interval [CI]:1. 235-94. 226, p=0. 031) and circumferential extension of > 3/4 (OR: 1. 121; 95% CI: 4. 041-1. 207. p=0. 003) were independent risk factors for post-endoscopic resection stricture. Conclusions:Antral deformity and sub-circumferential resection over 75% of the circumference are independent risk factors for post-endoscopic resection stricture and balloon dilation at prepylorus and pylorus.

Advanced cancer patients with refractory ascites often do not respond to conventional treatments including dietary sodium restriction, diuretics, and repeated large volume paracentesis. In these patients, continuous peritoneal drainage by an indwelling catheter may be an effective option for managing refractory ascites with a relative low complication rate. Peritoneal catheter-induced complications include hypotension, hematoma, leakage, cellulitis, peritonitis, and bowel perforation. Although bowel perforation is a very rare complication, it can become disastrous and necessitates emergency surgical treatment. Herein, we report a case of a 57-year-old male with refractory ascites due to advanced liver cancer who experienced iatrogenic colonic perforation after peritoneal drainage catheter insertion and was treated successfully with endoscopic clipping. Currently, most high-voltage gas circuit breakers (CBs) include asymmetrical geometries in the shield, the tank, the hot-gas exhaust, and the connection parts for bushings. For this reason, a 3-dimensional (3-D) analysis of the insulation capability is necessary, rather than a 2-D analysis. However, a 3-D analysis has difficulties due to the computational time and complex modeling. This paper presents a 3-D analysis considering the asymmetry in high-voltage gas CBs and a technique to reduce the calculation time. In the proposed technique, the arc plasma requiring the most computational time is first calculated by a 2-D analysis. Then, the results such as pressure, temperature, and velocity are input as a source for the 3-D analysis. This technique is applied to a 145kV self-blast-type CB and the analysis result exhibits good agreement with the experimental result.
