      • Clostridium difficile 장염에 의한 속발성 유전분증에서 발현된 독성 장염

        Amyloidosis is characterized by extracellular deposition of protein fibrils in one or multiple organs. AA amyloidosis is secondarily occurred to be related with chronic infections or inflammatory diseases. We report a 67-year-old man suffered from secondary AA amyloidosis related with chronic Clostridium difficile colitis after repeated total hip replacement surgery. Infection control is the most important treatment of AA amyloidosis secondary to chronic infection. However, the patient’s C. difficile colitis was not controlled well, eventually toxic megacolon with sepsis was developed. Consequently, he had to take total colectomy, but he expired with multi-organ failures. We suggested that early surgical procedure might be one option for intractable C. difficile colitis complicated with secondary amyloidosis.

        In order to investigate the pharmacological properties of New Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Liquid (NSCL), effects of Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Liquid (SCL) and NSCL were compared. In isolated rat aorta, NSCL and SCL showed the relaxation of blood vessels in maximum contractile response to phenylephrine (10^-6M) regardless to intact endothelium or denuded rings of the rat aorta. Furthermore, the presences of the inhibitor of NO synthase and guanylate cyclase did not affect the relaxing effect of NSCL and SCL. NSCL and SCL inhibited the vascular contractions induced by acetylcholine, prostaglandin endoperoxide or peroxide in a dose-dependent manner. In conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), NSCL and SCL significantly decreased heart rate. NSCL and SCL, at high doses, had a negative inotropic effect that was a decrease of left ventricular developed pressure and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt) in the isolated perfused rat hearts, and also decreased the contractile force and heart rate in the isolated rat right atria. In excised guinea-pig papillary muscle, NSCL and SCL had no effects on parameters of action potential such as resting membrane potential, action potential amplitude, APD_90 and V_max at low doses, whereas inhibited the cardiac contractility at high doses. These results suggested that NSCL and SCL have weak cardiovascular effects with relaxation of blood vessels and decrease of heart rate, and that this effect is no significant differences between cardiovascular effects of two preparations.

        This paper achieves a research about avoidance of obstacles avoidance based on ultrasonic sensor. The performance of the proposed obstacle avoidance robot controller in order to determine the exact dynamic systems modeling system that uncertainty is difficult for nomadic controlled robot direction angle by ultrasonic sensors throughout controlled performance tests. In additionally, this study is an in different ways than the self-driving simulator in the development of ultrasonic sensors and unmanned remote control techniques used by the self-driving robot controlled driving through an unmanned remote controlled unmanned realize the performance of factory automation.

        유럽단일시장의 형성과 공동사회정책의 가능성 연구

        유럽통합에 관한 학문적 논의에 있어 사회적 차원만큼 논쟁의 대상이 되는 부분도 드물다. 일부에서는 현재까지 진행되어온 사회적 차원의 발전을 주목하면서 앞으로도 이 분야의 통합이 순조롭게 진행되어 공동사회정책의 단계에 도달할 것이라고 평가한다. 그러나 다른 학자들은 유럽통합이 경제적인 단일시장의 형성을 주요 목료로 하고 있기 때문에 사회적이 ㄴ차원은 단지 경제통합을 동반하거나 정당화하는 부속물일 뿐이라는 시각을 보이고 있다. 이 논문은 1) 규범적 차원에서 각종 규칙의 생산과 2) 이들이 실질적으로 적용되는 과정까지를 포함하는 포괄적 의미의 정책을 구분함으로써 사회적 차원에 대한 다양하고 상반된 평가가 주는 혼동에서 탈피해 보려는 시도이다. 역사적으로 볼 때 사회적 차원은 1950년대의 로마조약에서 시작하여 특히 1970년대의 행동계획과 1989년의 사회헌장이 채택될 때까지 지속적으로 강화되어 왔다. 최근에 체결된 마스트리히트 조약은 이같이 생산된 규범적 사회정책을 실천하는데 필수적인 정책수단을 제공함으로써 유럽공동사회정책의 생성을 위한 기초를 마련해 주었다. 결국 유럽 특유의 사회경제모델에 바탕한 공동사회정책의 실현 가능성은 무엇보다 주요 회원국들의 집권세력분포와 성향에 좌우될 것이다. In the current academic debate on European integration, the social dimension represents one of the most controversial issues. In an incrementalist and somewhat optimistic perspective, many studies consider that european integration process has been covering various dimensions, from the formation of the customs union to the production of common policies, including the social dimension. ON the other hand, in a critical perspective, pessimists point out the fact that the integration process was mainly oriented to economic community building, avoiding any consideration of the social dimension. This article aims to clarify the confusion induced by the differences of view and introduces the distinction between the production of social norms and rules in the integration process and their implementation at both the European and national level. Historically, the social dimension has been present since the Rome Treaty of 1950's and reinforced since then, especially by the action plan of the 1970's the Social Charter of 1989. The Maastricht Treaty gave the European Union policy instruments necessary for the effective implementation and harmonization of social norms, opening the way to the emergence of the european common social policy. The contingency of this policy based upon the specificity of a european socio-economic model fundamentally depends on the distribution and the nature of governing political forces among main member- countries and their interaction in the context of enlargement.

      • 랫드의 생체내 카드뮴 축적에 대한 아연의 영향

        This study was performed to find out the protective effects of zinc against accumulation of cadmium in rats. The exprimental rats were divided into two groups ; one group was administrated cadmium alone(cadmium alone group) and the other group was administrated simultaneously Cd and Zn(cadmium alone group ; Cd-I group ; 200ug/ml, Cd-II group ; 400ug/ml). Each group was administrated with different doses of cadmium (200ug/ml∼400ug/ml) and zink(100ug/ml∼1,000ug/ml) orally bia drinking water for two weeks. The gained Body weight and organ weight, cadmium levels of blood liver, kidney and spleen, hematogical values and enzyme activites were investigated for the experimental groups. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The body weights of exprimental rats were temporarily reduced, but gredually incresed after one week in each group. The weights of liver and kidney of the Cd-II(Cd 400ug/ml) group were significantly reduced compared with the control group(P<0.05). 2. The accumulation levels of Cd in the blood of rats were significantly reduced in the Cd-I group according to the Zn level was increased. But the Cd levels were significantly increased in the Cd-II group according to the Zn level was increased. 3. The accumulation levels of Cd in liver were reduced in the Cd and Zn mixed groups than the Cd alone group in the Cd-I group, but, in Cd-II group, the levels of Cd were increased in the Cd and Zn mixed groups than Cd alone group(p<0.01). 4. The accumulation levels of Cd in Kidney were significantly increased in the Cd and Zn mixed groups than Cd alone group in the Cd-I group(P<0.05), but, in the Cd-II group, the levels of Cd were reduced in the Cd and Zn mixed groups than the Cd alone group. 5. The accumulation levels of the Cd in spleen were significantly reduced in the Cd and Zn mixed groups than Cd alone group in the Cd-I group(P<0.05), but, there was not significantly differences in the Cd-II group. 6. The hematological values (RBC, WBC, Hb and Hct) were higher levels in the Cd alone group than the cd and Zn mixed groups in the Cd-I and Cd-II groups. 7. The activities of GOT, GPT, ALP, and LDH were significantly increased in the Cd alone group than the control groups, but, there was not signigicant in the Cd and Zn mixed group. According to the above results, this study suggests that Zn may accelarate the accumulation of Cd within various organs, but this metal had reducing effects on the toxicity of Cd to the hematological values and enzyme activities when the Zn was administrated simultaneously with Cd to the rats.

In rat aorta, NSCH and SCH made the relaxation of blood vessels in maximum contractile response to phenylephrine (10^-6 M) regardless to endothelium containing or denuded rings of the rat aorta. Furthermore, the presence of the inhibitors of NO synthase and guanylate cyclase did not aftect significantly the relaxing effects of NSCH and SCH, NSCH and SCH inhibited the vascular contractions induced by acetylcholine, prostaglandin endoperoxide or peroxide in a dose-dependent manner. In conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs). NSCH and SCH decreased significantly heart rate. These, at high doses, had a negative inotropic effect that was a decrease of left ventricular developed pressure and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt) in the isolated perfused rat hearts, and also decreased the contractile force and heart rate in the isolated rat right atria. In guinea-pig papillary muscle, these had no effects on parameters of action potential such as action potential amplitude (APA). V_max and resting membrane potential (RMP) at low doses, whereas inhibited the cardiac contractility at high doses. Furthermore, these had a significant inhibitory effects on palpitation of the heart in normotensive rats and SHRs. These results suggest that NSCH and SCH have weak cardiovascular effects, and that there is no significant differences between cardiovascular effects of two preparations.

      • 위암종과 Epstein-Barr 바이러스와의 연관성에 대한 연구

        Objectives: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been known to be linked to a spectrum of neoplastic conditions, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma, Burkitt's lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma and Hodgkin's disease. This study aims to investigate the association of EBV with gastric carcinoma in Korea. Methods: Fifty-three cases of gastric adenocarcinoma were studied for evidence of EBV infection by EBV-encoded small RNA (EBER) in situ hybridization (ISH) on the paraffin sections and amplifying the EBV genome encoding envelop glycoprotein (gp220) with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in fresh gastric cancer specimens. Results: EBER was detected in 7 (13.2%) of 53 gastric carcinomas and all cases were male. In 6 (85.7%) of 7 EBER-positive cases, the tumors were located in the upper and middle part of the stomach. EBER ISH study showed strong positivity in all the tumor cells, but negativity in surrouning lymphocytes, stromal cells and normal gastric mucosa. DNA PCR was positive in 23 (43.4%) of 53 gastric carcinomas, including all of 7 EBER-positive cases. Conclusion: We could observe some association of EBV with gastric carcinoma, and our findings about the charateristics of EBV-positive gastric cancers involving sex, site and histological type are similar to those in Japan. However, EBV-positive rate of gastric cancer is higher than in Japan and lower than in Western countries. Further studies to elucidate oncogenic mechanism of EBV in gastric cancer should be performed.

NCL and CL inhibited the vascular contractions induced by acetylcholine, prostaglandin endoperoxide or peroxide in a dosedependent manner. In conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), NCL and CL significantly decreased heart rate. NCL and CL, at high doses, had a negative inotropic effect that was a decrease of LVDP and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt) in the isolated perfused rat hearts, and also decreased the contractile force and heart rate in the isolated rat right atria. In excised guinea-pig papillary muscle, NCL and CL had no efects on parameters of action potential at low doses, whereas inhibited the cardiac contractility at high doses. These results suggested that NCL and CL have weak cardiovascular effects with relaxation of blood vessels and decrease of heart rate, and that this effect is no significant differences between two preparations.

        저탁도시 PAC와 Ca-PAX의 입자제거 및 슬러지 탈수성 비교

        This study was accomplished to evaluate the characteristics of particle removal and sludge dewatering and to find out the optimal condition of coagulation depending on the dosage of different coagulants (PAC, Ca-PAX) in low turbidity water. The experiments were carried out at a pilot plant of conventional rapid sand filtration system using artificial raw water. There was no large difference in the removal efficiencies of turbidity and total particle counts for both coagulants. However, Ca-PAX was required less than PAC to obtain the same efficiency of removal, and the initial head loss in a filter increased more fastly in case of PAC. The results on the evaluation of sludge from settling tank indicated that specific resistance of sludge was decreased inversely to the dose of both coagulant and specific resistance of Ca-PAX sludge was lower than that of PAC, therefore dewatering of sludge in case of Ca-PAX was better.
