        일반적으로 해양생물에는 육지 생물에 비해 훨씬 다양하고 특이한 구조의 sterol과 지방산이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국 여수 돌산도 해안에서 채집한 미동정된 해면(동정을 의뢰중임)으로부터 wax성분으로 tetradecanoic acid tetradecyl ester 및 hexadecyl ester을 분리하였다. 또한 지방산으로는 palmitoleic acid ethyl ester가 주성분으로 얻어졌으며 myristoleic acid, oleic acid ethyl ester가 소량으로 발견되었다. There has been a continuing interest in the sterols and fat related compounds of marine organism. The Korea sea unknown marine sponge was shown to contain tetradecanoic acid tetradecyl ester and hexadecyl ester. Futher elution with more solvent gave palmitoleic acid along with minor amount of myristoleic acid, oleic acid ethyl ester.

        한국인 윌리스환의 미세수술적 해부

        The authors studied and analyzed microsccopically structure, length and diameter of each part of Willis circle in 264 cerebral hemespheres of 182 autopsied patients in the Taegu area from 1984 to 1990. The mean length of each A1 was 14.1mm and diameter at distal A1 was 2.25mm. The most common anatomical anomaly of the ACA part was A1 that of hypoplasia which appeared in 7.5% of the cases. The origin of the Heubner a. was accounted for the highest incidence of AcoA(82.5%). The length of AcoA, noted 3.5mm with the incidence of duplication and triplication in 38.6%. The inner diameter of ICA noted 3.9mm at the communicating segment in ICA, and the average length of C4 was 12.5mm. Except 5 hemispheres of undetectable origin at ICA, all the anterior choroidal a. originated from ICA, and the double stump of which noted 15.5%. Fetal type PcoA. showed 16.6% of all and average legnth of the a. was 13.5mm. The inner diameter of MCA was 3.1mm and the mean length of M1 noted 15.5mm. The length of each P1 noted 6.95mm and the inner diameter of basilar a. at 1cm below the bifurcation was 3.3mm. The mean circumference of willis circle including both side of A1, P1, PcoA. AcoA. and choroidal and communicating segment of ICA was 88.6mm. Incidental finding of unruptured aneurysm noted 5.3% and junctional dilatation of PcoA. showed 11.4% of all the cases.

      • CATV 망에서의 고속 DATA 서비스를 위한 적정 셀 규모에 관한 연구

        Recently the surrounding of data communication industry has been changing through the rapid growth of the information technology, which has been sparked by the convergence of computer and optical fiber technology. This phenomenon requires broadband network to transmit video, audio and data at once. Multimedia and broadband services are provided widely over the Internet. The traditional telephone companies, CATV operators, and Internet service providers are all rushing to provide integrated services over their infra-structures. Among them, CATV seems to be the most promising from an economic perspective, because CATV infrastructure is already in place in a majority of homes and can deliver broadband service without requiring costly upgrade of the existing CATV systems. In this paper, analysis the problem of data services over CATV network, suggest size the proper cell for the high speed data services over CATV network.

      • 자궁경부종양에서 Cathepsin-D 표현의 의의

        Various clinical and histopathologic characteristics are currently used to obtain prognostic information about cervical carcinoma, but they do not predict the outcome for any individual patients. Thus, there is a need to identify additional tumor characteristics that are able to predict more accurately the outcome for an individual patient with cervical cancer. In this study, we explored the relationship between cathepsin-D expression and progression of the cervical neoplasia, the correlation between response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and cathepsin-D expression, and we investigated if tumor cell cathepsin-D expression could serve as a prognostic factor in cervical carcinoma. Tumor tissues were obtained from 14 patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and 52 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. Cathepsin-S expression was identified by immunohistochemical methods using monoclonal antibody cathepsin-D (BioGene). Positive cathepsin-D immunoreaction in greater than 30% of carcinoma cells was scored as high expression. High cathepsin-D expression was seen in 15 of 52 invasive cancer but was absent in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. It was shown that cathepsin-D expression was independent of the rumor grade, tumor size, lymph node involvement, depth of invasion, parametrial invasion, and response to chemotherapy. In disease free survival analysis by log-rank test, cathepsin-D expression was not significantly associated with survival. These results show that cathepsin-D expression is not a clinically useful adjunct to assessment of prognosis in invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.

      • 백서에서 신 허혈성 손상에 미치는 칼슘 길항제의 효과

        Renal ischemia is one of the most common causes of acute renal failure. Four factors related to the pathogenesis of acute renal failure are vasoconstriction, decreased glomerular filtration rate, tubular back leak of filtrate, and intratubular obstruction. The cellular response to renal ischemic insults include decreased content of adenosine trihosphate, lipid peroxidation induced membrane degradation, alteration in cellular pH, and calcium or phospholipase induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Much attention has been given to the role of increased cellular calcium as a pathogenetic contributor to cell injury during ischemia. Author studied the protective effects of calcium antagonists on cellular injury during renal ischemia in rat. To investigate the protective role of these agents, author measured the amount of malondialdehyde(MDA) and the enzyme activities of free radical scarvengers-superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase from non-pretreated group and calcium antagonists pretreated groups in control, ischemia and reflow subgroups. The results were summerized as follows: 1) The amount of MDA in non-pretreated group was higher in the reflow compared with the control(<p<0.01). But, in all pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the amount of MDA. 2) The SOD activity in non-pretreated group was lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But, in both verapamil and trifluoperazine-pretreated groups, there was no statistically difference in the SOD activity. 3) Both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities in non-pretreated group were lower in both the ischemia and the reflow compared with the control (P<0.05). But in all pretreated groups, there was no statically difference in both catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities. These results suggest that free radical mediated ischemic injury by renal artery clamp in rat can be protected by intraperitoneal pretreatment with calcium antagonists. As trifluoperazine has a protective effect in renal ischemia, the calcium activated calmodulin dependent enzyme may play a role in renal ischemic injury.

      • 잡초성벼의 superoxide dismutase cDNA cloning과 재배벼로의 형질전환

        냉해나 한발등의 환경스트레스에 대해 저항성을 유발하는 유전자를 환경스트레스에 강한 잡초성벼로부터 선발하고 이들 유전자를 재배벼에 도입하여 도입유전자 산물의 과량 발현을 통해 냉해나 한발 등에 대한 저항성이 향상된 벼를 선발하고자 하였다. 잡초성벼인 Bhutan 14Ad로부터 냉해 및 한발 저항성 유전자로 알려진 superoxide dismutase (SOD) cDNA를 분리하고자 mRNA를 분리하고 이 분리된 mRNA를 이용해 reverse transcriptase PCR방법으로 SOD cDNA를 cloning 하였다. 그 결과 2종의 SOD cDNA가 cloning되어 SOD-A, SOD-B로 명명하였다. 이들 cDNA의 염기서열을 결정한 결과 이들은 아미노산 서열 상동성이 88.4%를 나타내었으며, SOD-A는 oryza sativa 계열의 Cu/Zn SOD유전자인 GenBank accession No. L36320와 99.3%로 동일하였으며, SOD-B는 accession No. D01000과 100% 동일하였다. 이들 SOD-A와 SOD-B cDNA를 재배벼인 낙동벼에 형질전환하여 형질전환체 벼를 선발하였으며, 이들 형질전환체 벼의 냉해저항성 및 한발저항성 검정을 통해 저항성이 향상된 형질전환체 벼를 선발하고 있다. Two different cDNA clones for superoxide dismutase (SOD) were isolated from an weedy rice variety (Oryza sativa, cv. Bhutanl4Ad) and were introduced into a cultivated rice variety (Oryza sativa, cv. Nakdong) in order to develop the environmental stress-resistant rice plants. Sequence analysis of the cloned cDNAs indicated that the deduced amino acid sequence of SOD-A is 88.4% identical to that of SOD-B. Furthermore, the nucleotide sequence of SOD-A is 99.3% identical to that of a Cu/Zn SOD gene of Oryza sativa (GenBank accession No. L36320). The nucleotide sequence of SOD-B was identical to that of the previously published SOD gene (Accession No. D01000). A cultivated rice variety, Nakdong-byeo, was transformed with chimenc SOD genes containing a actin promoter of rice and pin2 terminator using a particle bombardment technique. Transformed calli were selected on an selection medium containing phosphinothricin (PPT). Transgenic rice plants were regenerated from the PPT-resistant calli. PCR analysis with genomic DNAs from transgenic plants revealed that transgenes are introduced into rice genome.

      • W-Index 광도파로를 이용한 협대역 스펙트럼 필터에 관한 연구

        In this paper, a narrow-band spectral filter constructed with a W-index optical waveguide is proposed and analyzed. The proposed filter offers a spectral width on the order of one nanometer, considerably narrower than that provided by a filter made of two step-index optical waveguides having the same transmission wavelength. The narrow spectral width is achieved by exploiting a relatively large slope difference between the dispersion characteristics of the W-index and step-index waveguides constituting the filter. The transmission characteristic of the proposed filter with peak transmission at 1550nm is calculated and compared with that of a corresponding filter made of two step-index waveguides
