        NaOH 첨가에 따른 음식물찌꺼기 고온 혐기성 산발효

        본 연구는 음식물찌꺼기의 혐기성 산발효에 있어 여러 조건들 중 온도가 효율적인 가수분해와 산발효에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위해 고온(55℃)과 중온(35℃)에서 각각 실험을 수행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 음식물찌꺼기의 혐기성 산발효시 산생성 효율을 높이기 위한 전처리 과정으로 음식물찌꺼기에 NaOH를 투입한 결과 가수분해효율을 표현한 가용화 정도(Solubilization)가 0.01 g NaOH/g TS이하로 투입된 경우 0.01 mgSCOD_(prod)/mgICOD_(inf)이하를 나타내었으나, 0.05 g NaOH/g TS이상을 투입했을 때는 0.07~0.09 mgSCOD_(prod)/mgICOD_(inf)로 나타났다. 따라서 음식물찌꺼기에 NaOH를 투입하여 효율적인 가수분해가 이루어지기 위해서는 g TS당 0.05 g이상의 NaOH가 투입되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 음식물찌꺼기를 NaOH로 전처리한 후 고온(55℃) 산발효를 실시했을 때 0.05 g NaOH/g TS 투입시 SCOD의 증가치 3,800 mg/L로 최대의 가용화와 산생성에 효과적인 pH 5.95를 얻을 수 있었다. 0.05 g NaOH/g TS를 투입하여 중온(35℃)에서 산발효를 실시한 경우와 비교하여 SCOD 증가치가 약 5배 정도 높았고, 최대 가용화에 이르는 시간도 중온의 2/3 정도로 짧아 음식물찌꺼기의 가용화에는 고온이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. NaOH 0.05 g NaOH/g TS로 전처리된 음식물찌꺼기의 산발효 결과 고온(55℃) 및 중온(35℃)에서 각각 반응시작 후 72시간에 12,600 mg/L, 120tlrksdp 9,800 mg/L의 VFA농도를 나타내어 동일기질을 이용하여 산발효를 실시했을 때 중온보다는 고온에서 미생물의 활성증대와 유기물의 가수분해가 촉진되어 VFA생성이 효율적인 것으로 판단되었다. 고온에서 NaOH에 전처리된 음식물찌꺼기를 산발효 시켰을 때 VFA가 가장 높았던 시점을 기준으로 VFA의 조성을 조사한 결과 acetic acid가 45.9%, butyric acid가 26.7%, propionic acid가 13.9% 등으로 총 유기산 발생량의 86.5%를 차지하였다. This study showed that thermophilic anaerobic acid fermentation of food wastes had an enhanced hydrolysis capability and improvement of acidification efficiency. Influence of pH on the anaerobic hydrolysis and acidogenesis was investigated to determine the proper alkalinity in the thermophilic fermentation of food wastes. The results of putting NaOH as alkali to evaluate hydrolysis and acid fermentation efficiency in acid fermentation process of food wastes showed that the food wastes pretreated with 0.05 g NaOH/g TS had the maximum 12,600 mg/L of VFAs concentration during HRT 3 days in 55℃ hermophilic condition and the maximum 9,700 mg/L of VFAs concentration during HRT 5 days in 35℃ mesophilic condition. The accomplishment of high VFAs concentration resulted from that the main component of food wastes such as cellulose, lignin and etc. is performed active chemical decomposition by alkali in thermophilic condition. The major components of VFAs produced from the thermophilic acid fermentation process of food wastes were the short chain fatty acids such as acetic acid, butyric acid, and propionic acid.

        Stroke is a leading cause of death in Korea. Although the most cost-effective treatment is primary prevention, appropriate managements are influenced on mortality or disability during acute period after onset. Stroke is a vascular event secondary to real disease of blood vessels of the brain. Also, stroke is not one illness but rather it includes several diseases that lead to occlusion of a vessel and progression of neurologic symptoms. Neurologist or physicians must decide treatment options according to medical problems of individual patient. In this review, the process of diagnosis and the principles of evidence based management of patients with acute stroke were described.

        當歸의 種類에 따른 四物湯이 白鼠의 胸部大動脈 血管弛緩에 미치는 影響

        We have examined the relaxational reponse to the water extract of Angelica gigas Nakai (AG), A. sinensis(Oliv.) Diels (AS), A. acutiloba Kitagawa (AA), and Four-Substance Decoctions (AG-FSD, AS-FSD, AA-FSD) in isolated thoracic aorta from sprague dawley(SD) rat in the presence and absence of endothelium. Rat thoracic aorta was investigated in vessel segments suspended for isometric tension recording by polygraph. Responses to AG, AS, AA and AG-FSD, AS-FSD, AA-FSD were investigated in vessels precontracted with 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) were compared in vasodilation effect. We found that the thoracic aorta segments responded to AG, AS, AA and AG-FSD, AS-FSD, AA-FSD with a dose-dependent vasodilation. The 5-hydroxytryptamine induced contraction at 10-4M were inhibited by 26.3%, 2.7%, 2.1% and 24.6%, 1.1%, 3.2% after addition of the 0.1 g/㎖ water extract of AG, AS, AA and AG-FSD, AS-FSD, AA-FSD. The 5-hydroxytrptamine induced contraction at 10^-4M with and without endothelium were inhibited by 24.6% and 6.9% after addition of the 0.1 g/㎖ water extract of AG-FSD. In conclusion, AG, AS, AA and AG-FSD, AS-FSD, AA-FSD-induced relaxation in the isolated rat thoracic aorta were composed of dose-dependent relaxation. AG-FSD has very potent vasodilation.

      • 정상인에서 전기 및 자기 자극을 이용한 설 근육의 전기생리학적 평가

        Background: Abnormality of lingual muscles is clinically common. But its exact clinical assessment is quite difficult. Evaluation of motor power of the lingual muscles and their neural pathway is limited because of anatomical inaccessibility and individual variation of subjective symptoms. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) of the human motor cortex is a non-invasive tool to assess the functional integrity of the fast conducting central motor pathways and electrical stimulation of lingual nerve is a conventional method of peripheral nerve conduction. Therefore both study will be helpful to understanding of pathophysiology of lingual abnormality. Until now there is no such report in Korea. This study was conducted to acquire the easier method and normal control values of Korean subjects. Method: We recorded the motor responses from the lingual muscles of 32 healthy subjects (22 men, 10 women) by focal cortical TMS with a circular coil. Motor potentials were recorded by means of surface electrodes applied on the both side of the tongue, following TMS several centimeters lateral from the vertex and parietooccipital cortex and peripheral electrical stimulation of the 12th cranial nerve at the lateral 1/3 point of the line between the midline and angle of mandible. Results: During moderate motor activation, majority of maximal motor response were obtained 4-6cm lateral to the vertex with similar latencies. And the responses from magnetic stimulation of the intracranial segment of hypoglossal nerve were discarded because of difficulty to obtain and unsatisfactory reproducibility. The latency of motor evoked potentials in right cortical stimulation was 10.08 ± 1.17 msec and in left stimulation 10.04 ± 1.32 msec. The amplitudes in right 2.15 ± 1.02, left 2.09 ± 1.11 mV. The latencies electric hypoglossal nerve stimulation were 2.42 ± 0.34 in right, 2.49 ± 0.35 msec in left side. The amplitudes were 2.90 ± 2.37 in right, 2.43 ± 1.86 mV in left side. Central conduction times as calculated by subtracting the response latencies obtained by magnetic and electric stimulation are right 7.65 ± 1.19, left 7.55 ± 1.35 msec. There was no significant difference between man and woman, Conclusion: The method may be efficient, noninvasive, painless, and easy reproduced. With more extensive application to various neurological disorders, it comes close to being an ideal clinical conduction study technique for this cranial nerve.

        파킨슨씨병 환자에 있어서 자가부신수질 이식술

        Recent experimental studies and clinical cases have suggested that grafting tissue from the adrenal medulla into the brain may alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Autologous adrenal medullary grafts into the striatum was performed stereotactically in two patients with Parkinson's disease. Both patients were bedridden preoperatively, but 4 months after the surgery both became ambulatory and one was even capable of returning to his job. Even though the number of cases was small⑵ and the follow-up period was short, this study shows that adrenal medullary transplantation into the striatum may have some beneficial effects in patient with Parkinson's disease. Further experimental and clinical trials are necessary to see whether this procedure will be a recommendable surgical treatment for patients suffering from Parkinson's disease.

      • 직접 메탄올 연료전지내의 유체 유동특성 및 전기화학적 해석을 위한 시뮬레이션

        상용 유체 전산모사 코드인 FLUENT ver.6.0을 이용하여 직접 메탄올 연료전지의 전기 화학적 해석 및 채널 내에서의 유체의 유동 분석을 하였다. 본 전산모사를 통해 채널내의 유속, 압력, 온도, 농도 및 전류밀도 분포에 대한 다양한 정보를 얻을 수 있었으며, 채널디자인에 따른 반응물 및 생성물의 유동에 대한 정보를 통해 최적의 채널 형태를 결정할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 전산모사 방법을 사용하면 직접 메탄올 연료전지의 전극과 분리판채널의 구조를 최적화하는데 매우 유리하다. An numerical analysis of electrochemical reaction and dynamics of the fluid flow in the channels of DMFC separator was carried out by using a commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD) code Fluent(ver.6.0). From the simulation work, much valuable information was obtained in terms of distributions of velocity, pressure, temperature, concentration and current density over the flow field. And it was possible to optimize the flow field structure by using the simulation results. The simulation work using the CFD code was found very helpful in analysing the phenomena occurring in the fuel cell and optimizing the structures of electrodes and flow field.
