Simulating TSN Traffic Scheduling and Shaping For Future Automotive Ethernet

        Zifan Zhou,Juho Lee,Michael Stübert Berger,Sungkwon Park,Ying Yan 한국통신학회 2021 Journal of communications and networks Vol.23 No.1

The broadening range of applications for vehicles hasmotivated the evolution of the automotive communication network. Ethernet has been deployed in production vehicles to build invehiclenetworks (IVN) by main manufacturers. To extent Ethernetwith real-time service for future E/E architecture, a time-sensitivenetworking (TSN) profile for automotive Ethernet has been created. This paper evaluates the implementation of multiple trafficscheduling and shaping mechanisms in the automotive Ethernet, respectively. And we especially focus on two solutions, namely thetime-aware shaping (TAS) and asynchronous traffic shaping (ATS). To investigate the performance, we introduce a TSN-based automotivegateway testing model in a simulation environment. Furthermore, another two methods, i.e., strict-priority and credit-basedshaper (CBS), as well as TAS and ATS are implemented in themodel and tested within a domain-based IVN scenario. The resultsshow that TAS guarantees the shortest worst-case latency ofhigh-priority streams, whereas it has a longer transmission latencyfor low-priority streams. ATS provides less determinism for highprioritystreams than TAS, but ensures a better average latency ofall streams.

      • Prediction of storage modulus in solid-like poly (lactic acid)/poly (ethylene oxide)/carbon nanotubes nanocomposites assuming the contributions of nanoparticles and interphase regions in the networks

Zhou, Zifan,Sarafbidabad, Mohsen,Zare, Yasser,Rhee, Kyong Yop Elsevier 2018 Journal of the mechanical behavior of biomedical m Vol.86 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this paper, Kolarik model for tensile modulus of co-continuous blends is developed to predict the storage modulus of poly (lactic acid) (PLA)/poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO)/carbon nanotubes (CNT) nanocomposites at low frequencies (solid-like region). The storage moduli of prepared samples are obtained by frequency sweep test and Kolarik model is expanded assuming the characteristics of interphase regions and CNT networks. The developed model takes into account the percolation threshold, the percentage of networked CNT and the volume fraction of interphase regions in the networks. The calculations of developed model are compared to the experimental data and the significances of main parameters on the storage modulus are justified. The calculations successfully agree with the experimental data at different PLA and CNT concentrations. The addition of CNT thickens and strengthens the interphase regions in the samples, but the different concentrations of PLA differently affect the properties of interphase regions. A thick and strong interphase enhances the storage modulus of nanocomposites. The high fraction of networked CNT and the significant modulus of nanoparticles considerably promote the storage modulus, but only small networks cause poor storage modulus for nanocomposites.</P>

SUMO Modification of NZFP Mediates Transcriptional Repression through TBP Binding

        김미진,이병재,Zifan Chen,심명섭,이명숙,김지은,권영은,유택진,김진영,방제영,Bradley A. Carlson,설재홍,Dolph L. Hatfield 한국분자세포생물학회 2013 Molecules and cells Vol.35 No.1

The negatively regulating zinc finger protein (NZFP) is an essential transcription repressor required for early devel-opment during gastrulation in Xenopus laevis. In this study, we found that NZFP interacts with the small ubiq-uitin-like modifier (SUMO) conjugation E2 enzyme, Ubc9, and contains three putative SUMO conjugation sites. Studies with NZFP mutants containing mutations at the putative SUMO conjugation sites showed that these sites were able to be modified independently with SUMO. NZFP was found to be localized in the same nuclear bodies with SUMO-1. However, sumoylation of NZFP did not play a role either in the translocation of NZFP into the nucleus or on nuclear body formation. While wild type NZFP showed significant transcriptional repression, SUMO-conjugation site mutants manifested a decrease in transcriptional repression activity which is reversely proportional to the amount of sumoylation. The sumoylation defective mutant lost its TBP binding activity, while wild type NZFP interacted with TBP and inhibited transcription complex formation. These results strongly suggest that the sumoylation of NZFP facilitates NZFP to bind to TBP and the NZFP/TBP complex then represses the transcription of the target gene by in-hibiting basal transcription complex formation.

      • DIRECT EVIDENCE FOR A ROLE OF β-CATENIN/LEF-1 SIGNALING PATHWAY IN INDUCTION OF EMT

        KIM, KWONSEOP,LU, ZIFAN,HAY, ELIZABETH D. 전남대학교 약품개발연구소 2002 약품개발연구지 Vol.11 No.-

Epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) is an important process in development that is characterized by loss of E-cadherin, β-catenin relocalization, and acquisition of elongated cell shape and ability to invade ECM. β-catenin has been shown to activate LEF-1 transcription during EMT induced in vitro by c-Fos. Here, we ask whether or not LEF-1 directly introduced into epithelial cells in an adenovirus construct can in duce EMT. In normal epithelial cell lines, such as HCE and MDSK cells, that contain functional APC, nuclear β-catenin induced by exogenous LEF-1 is rapidly exported and EMT is not induced. Leptomycin-B blocks β-catenin nuclear export, but no EMT occurs due to toxicity. Addition of Wnt-1 to normal epithelial cell lines stabilizes cytoplasmic β-catenin that LEF-1 then transports to nuclei, causing a small amount of EMT. Our experiments demonstrated, however, that overexpressed LEF-1 upregulates nuclear β-catenin and promotes dramatic EMT in DLD-1 epithelial tumors that retain nuclear β-catenin. This EMT is reversible if the LEF-1 virus is removed. Thus, our results demonstrate that LEF-1 can induce EMT directly when its transcription activity is activated by stable nuclear β-catenin. Normal epithelial cells appear to use APC to keep β-cathnin out of the nucleus, thereby avoiding pathologies such as metastases due to LEF/β-catenin-induced EMT.

Low-Complexity Energy Efficient Base Station Cooperation Mechanism in LTE Networks

( Peng Yu ),( Lei Feng ),( Zifan Li ),( Wenjing Li ),( Xuesong Qiu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.10

Currently Energy-Saving (ES) methods in cellular networks could be improved, as compensation method for irregular Base Station (BS) deployment is not effective, most regional ES algorithm is complex, and performance decline caused by ES action is not evaluated well. To resolve above issues, a low-complexity energy efficient BS cooperation mechanism for Long Time Evolution (LTE) networks is proposed. The mechanism firstly models the ES optimization problem with coverage, resource, power and Quality of Service (QoS) constraints. To resolve the problem with low complexity, it is decomposed into two sub-problems: BS Mode Determination (BMD) problem and User Association Optimization (UAO) problem. To resolve BMD, regional dynamic multi-stage algorithms with BS cooperation pair taking account of load and geographic topology is analyzed. And then a distributed heuristic algorithm guaranteeing user QoS is adopted to resolve UAO. The mechanism is simulated under four LTE scenarios. Comparing to other algorithms, results show that the mechanism can obtain better energy efficiency with acceptable coverage, throughput, and QoS performance.

Morphology of the Esophageal Hiatus: Is It Different in 3 Types of Hiatus Hernias?

        ( Dushyant Kumar ),( Ali Zifan ),( Gary Ghahremani ),( David C Kunkel ),( Santiago Horgan ),( Ravinder K Mittal ) 대한소화기 기능성질환·운동학회 2020 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.26 No.1

Background/Aims The esophageal hiatus is formed by the right crus of the diaphragm in the majority of subjects. Contraction of the hiatus exerts a sphincter-like action on the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The aim is to study the hiatal anatomy (using CT scan imaging) and function (using high-resolution manometry [HRM]), and esophageal motor function in patients with sliding and paraesophageal hiatal hernia. Methods We assessed normal subjects (n = 20), patients with sliding type 1 hernia (n = 18), paraesophageal type 2 hernia (n = 19), and mixed type 3 hernia (n = 19). Hernia diagnosis was confirmed on the upper gastrointestinal series. The hiatal morphology was constructed from the CT scan images. The LES pressure and relaxation, percent peristalsis, bolus pressure, and hiatal squeeze pressure were assessed by HRM. Results The CT images revealed that the esophageal hiatus is formed by the right crus of the diaphragm in all normal subjects and 86% of hernia patients. The hiatus is elliptical in shape with a surface area of 1037 mm2 in normal subjects. The hiatal dimensions were larger in patients compared to normal subjects. The HRM revealed impaired LES relaxation and higher bolus pressure in patients with paraesophageal compared to the sliding hernia. The hiatal pinch on HRM was recognized in significantly higher number of patients with sliding as compared to paraesophageal hernia. Conclusions Using a novel approach, we provide details of the esophageal hiatus in patients with various kinds of hiatal hernia. Impaired LES relaxation in paraesophageal hernia may play a role in its pathophysiology and genesis of symptoms.

중국 텐진시 민영기업의 발전 과정에 관한 연구

최의현(Choi, Eui-Hyun),양자범(Yang, Zifan) 영남대학교 중국연구센터 2009 중국과 중국학 Vol.10 No.-

Private enterprises have contributed higher and higher percentage of China’s economic development and have already act as the main driving force. In 2007, the output value of private enterprises accounted for 40% of GDP. The total employed people were around 200M. The total import and export reached 347.6 billion dollars, which accounted for 15.8% of the total amount. Private enterprises in China have formed four models in the development: Wenzhou-based model which is more focusing on the development of Handicraft industry, Sunan-based model which is more focusing on the development of township enterprises, Zhujiang-based model which is more focusing on trade processing for Hong Kong’s enterprises, and Beijing Zhongguangcun-based model which is more focusing on the development of high technology. The article is making research about the model of private enterprise in Tianjin. During the latter half of 90’s, government adopted the policy of focusing on the restructuring of major enterprises and leaving minor ones to fend for themselves, and consequently many enterprises were privatized, which have became a major part of private enterprise in Tianjin. The development of private enterprise in Tianjin is quite different from that in other areas of China. The typical spontaneous private enterprises are mainly engaged in labor-intensive products because of lack of technical strength. They are usually small and cooperate with Foreign-funded enterprises. They are at the bottom and consequently unlikely to make progress in the development of enterprise technology. But private enterprises in Tianjin were mainly from State-owned enterprises, which had a good foundation of technical strength. As a result they had a different cooperation with big Foreign-funded enterprises after privatization, which promoted its own technology development.

Association Between Metabolic Risk Factors and Cognitive Impairment in Schizophrenia Based on Sex

        Hongna Huang,Lizhao Du,Zhengping Pu,Yuan Shi,Zifan Xiao,Xi Chen,Shun Yao,Lijun Wang,Zezhi Li,Ting Xue,Donghong Cui 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.10

Objective Sex differences have been observed in many aspects of schizophrenia, including cognitive deficits. Despite extensive research into the relationship between metabolic factors and cognitive deficits in schizophrenia, few studies have explored the potential sex difference in their association. Methods We recruited 358 schizophrenia patients and 231 healthy controls. The participants underwent measurements of body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, blood pressure, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose. Metabolic risk factors included abdominal obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and dyslipidemia. A collection of these metabolic risk factors has been defined as metabolic syndrome. These diagnoses were based on the criteria of the National Cholesterol Education Program’s Adult Treatment Panel III. Cognitive performance was measured using the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). A descriptive analysis, difference analysis, and linear regression model were used to identify the metabolic risk factors for cognitive function in schizophrenia. Results Our findings revealed sex differences in the rate of abdominal obesity and hypertension in schizophrenic patients. Additionally, we observed sex differences in the association between metabolic risk factors and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. Specifically, hyperglycemia was associated with the immediate memory index score of RBANS in male patients, while dyslipidemia was associated with language, attention, delayed memory index scores, and RBANS total score in female patients. Conclusion Our results suggest that sex should be considered when evaluating the impact of metabolic disorders on the cognitive function of schizophrenic patients. Moreover, our study identifies hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia as potential targets for precise treatment by sex stratification, which could benefit the improvement of cognitive impairment in schizophrenic patients.
