        6개의 원소로 이루어진 오르토히드록시짝이중결합화합물, 즉 시남알데히드-오르토-히드록시아닐(cinnam-aldehyde-ortho-hydroxyanil), 벤질모노히드록시아닐(benzil-mono-hydroxyanil), 오르토-히드록시벤잘아세톤페논(ortho-hydroxy benzalacetophenone)과 알진트리클로라이드(AsCI_3)와의 반응으로부터 고체반응생성물을 분리해 냈다. 이들 반응생성물의 적외선 및 자외선분광학으로부터, 이들 모든 반응생성물은 비소의 전하이동착물임을 획인했다. 이 반응으로부터 3원자가 비소화합물의 화학적거동이 인의 3원자가 화합물과 유사하지 않다는 것을 알 수 있었다. Solid products were isolated by the reaction of orthohydroxy-6-membered conjugated system such as cinnamaldehyde-ortho-hydroxyanil, benzil-mono-orthohydroxyanil and ortho-hydroxybenzalacetophenon with AsCl_3. All of these products were confirmed to be Charge-transfer complexes of As from the examination of IR and UV spectra. It could be found that the chemical behavior of trivalent As is not analogous with that of triv alent P.

      • Bi계 고온초전도체 2223상의 생성과 미세조직에 미치는 하소회수와 소결시간의 영향

        The Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system precursor powders were synthesized by the thermal decomposition of an organic acid salt to get the homogeneous composition. These powders were milled by a planetary mill to make them fine grains. After milling, calcination was carried out at 750℃ for 8 hours in air. The milling and calcination were repeated twice. The grain size and shape were examined by Laser particle size analyzer and SEM. Annealing was done at 860℃ for 20, 40, 60 hours in air. The Tc of specimens annealed at 860℃ for 60 hours were measured with changes of resistance by a DC four-probe method. The results attained were as follows ; 1) The synthesized powders were fine and homogeneous in composition. 2) The finer the grain size the faster the grain growth during annealing. 3) Bi-2201 phase was produced by the calcination. 4) Bi-2223 phase formation was suppreseed by the excess absorption of oxygen. 5) The production of high-Tc 2223 phase was expected by controlling the annealing atmosphere, time and cooling rate.

        1, 1-Dichloro-2, 3, 4, 5-tetraphenyl-l-silacyclopentadiene is synthesized from the reaction of diphenylacetylene with metal and tetrachlorosilane, where the optimal reaction conditions are also studied. From-the mass spectroscopic study of this 1,1-dichloro-2, 3, 4, 5-tetraphenyl-l-silacyclopentadiene the elimination of meta-stable dichlorosilylene species is confirmed.

        From the reactions of orthohydroxy-6-membered conjugated system, benzil-mono-orthohydroxyanil, with Me_2AsCl and chloro [Toluene-(2, 3)-dithiolato(2)] arsenic (Ⅲ), reaction products was isolated. From the IR and NMR-spectroscopic analysis for these reaction products, it is confirmed that reaction products are charge-transfer complexes of As. From these results, we found that the chemical behaviour of trivalent As is not analogous to trivalent P.

      • CARBAMATE의 새 합성방법에 대하여(제1보)

        Previous investigators have prepared carbamates by the Hoffmann-like rearrangement of amides using lead tetraacetate as an oxidation agent. Almost of these investigations are concerned mainly with the procedures of the carbamate preparations. For the formation of carbamates by the Hoffmann-like rearrangement of amides it seems very important to know the influences of the character of amides and also the acidity of alcohols. In this work we have studied at first the influences of amides with electron withdrowing and donating character upon the formation of carbamates. From our results we have found that there is no remarkable influence of amides on account of the yield or the reactivity. We have also found that this reaction does not initiate without base. Therefore we have concluded that the formation of isocyanate intermediate in the process of carbamate preparation occurs by a spontaneous intramolecular synchronous rearrangement and not by the free nitrene formation, and that the catalytic effect of a base, which acts to displace a nitrogen bonded proton of the amide and initiates the reaction, must be accounted as an important factor.

        A new synthesis of 1,1-R, R',-2, 3, 4, 5-tetraphenyl-1-silacyclopentadiene was described. It was synthesized from one-pot reaction of 1,4-dilithio-1, 2, 3, 4-tetraphenylbutadiene with R_nSiCl_4-n (n=0, 1, 2), where 1, 4-dilithio-1, 2, 3, 4-tetraphenyl butadiene was prepared from the reaction of diphenyl acetylene and lithium metal in ether solution with good yield (80∼85%).

      • 멀티바이트 부호체계의 코드변환 유틸리티의 구현

        The UCS (Universal Multiple-Octet Coded Character Set), ISO/IEC 10646, is applicable to the representation, transmission, interchange, processing, storage, input and presentation of the written form of the language (scripts) throughout the world. It- includes many thousands of characters used in international text as well as additional symbols. This scheme provides codes for more than 65,000 characters, huge increase over ASCII's code capacity of 128 characters. To keep character coding simple and efficient, the UCS standard assigns each character a unique 16-bit value (UCS-2), and does not use complex modes or escape codes to specify modified characters or special case. The simplicity and efficiency makes it easy for commuters and software to handle UCS-encoded text files. Computer users who deal with multilingual text will all find that the UCS encoding greatly simplifies their work. In case of Hangul, all the modern Hangul of 11,172 syllables is allocated to the BMP (Basic Multilingual Plane) of the UCS standard according to the phonetic order. Old Hangul can be composed of 240 Hangul Jamo's (Hangul elementary characters) which are allocated to the BMP. The UCS standard also accommodates 20,902 ideographs used in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese text. In this paper, code conversion utilities among the UCS code system and the current code system like IBM and Microsoft code systems are studied and implemented in order to accommodate the necessities and requirements derived from computer and information industry. Recently, the leading-edge companies from the industry, such as IBM, Microsoft, etc, are implementing the UCS code into their newly announced products as internal code. Therefore, it is so important and necessary to guide on and to provide the code conversion services to their customers during the customer systems are upgraded and migrated to the environment which the UCS code system is used and/or the current code systems, i.e., ASCII PC code and EBCDIC host code, are used with the UCS together. Code conversion utility including the mapping table between the UCS and IBM new host code (Code Page : 834) is shown for the purpose of the explanation of code conversion algorithm and its implementation in the system. The programs are sucessfully executed in the real system environments and so can be delivered to the customer during its migration stage from the UCS to the current IBM code system and vice versa.

      • 1-Silacyclopentadiene으로부터 Silylene을 합성하는데 대한 연구

        1-Spiro(tetraphenyl-1-silacyclopentadiene) was obtained from the reaction of 1, 2, 3, 4-tetraphenylbutadiene anion with tetrachlorosilane in ether. This spiro compound is treated with phenylacetylene at 350℃ in sealed tube. From this reaction, pentaphenylbenzene and polymer like silicon compound which are byproducts of silylene formation, are isolated. The reaction product which must be formed from the reaction of silylene and phenylacetylene, is now under investigation.

      • 농촌지역 노인들의 우울증상에 관련된 요인들의 특성

        This study was performed to identify risk factors for depression among the elderly in a rural area. A survey was done for the elderly living in Gosam-myenn, Ansung-kun during the period of July 28, 1997 and July 30, 1997. Demographic and sodoeconornic characteristics, and functional and health Status were assessed using a structured questionnaire, and the level of depression was measured by GDS score. The data obtained were analyzed by frequencies, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression, and the results were as follows: 1. The total sample consisted of 133 elderly. Of them, 47 elderly (35.4%) showed significant depressive Symptoms. 2. The GDS score was the highest for the group over 85 years of age (p < 0.05). Those living alone or widowed showed lower GDS score than those living with someone or married (p < 0.05). 3. The GDS score was the highest in the absolutely dependent group, followed by the partially dependent group, and the independent group (p < 0.01). The elderly who perceived their health Status as excellent showed the lowest GDS score. In contrast, those who had more than five chronic diseases showed the highest GDS score. 4. The elderly receiving financial and emotional support from their family or friends showed lower GDS score compared to those without any support. 5. The economically dependent group showed higher GDS score than that of independent group. 6. The elderly who involved in leisure activities showed lower GDS score than those without any involvement. 7. In terms of risk factors for depression, we found that perceived health Status, subjective economic Status, leisure activities, living arrangement and financial support were inversely associated with GDS score, whereas labor support was positively associated with GDS score. Based upon the above findings, this study suggests that these risk factors for depression in the elderly should be taken into consideration for a comprehensive mental health program for the elderly living in the rural area.

        The Reactivity of Thiopyrylium Compound. Reduction of Thiopyrylium Cation by Alkali Metals-Evidence of Thiabenzene Radical

        For the first time we have synthesized thiabenzene radical by the reaction of thiopyrylium cation with alkali metals. As might be expected for a free radical, ESR-spectrum of 2,4,6-triphenylthiabenzene radical shows the single signal with g-value of 2.0045. The proton signal of 2,4,6-triphenylthiabenzene radical in nmr spectrum shifts to the higher field than that of 2,4,6-triphenylthiopyrylium cation by ca. 0.5 ppm. From the UV-spectrum of thiabenzene radical the presence of 6${\pi}$ non-benzenoid aromatic system was observed as in the case of thiopyrylium cation. The reactivity of alkali metals with thiopyrylium cation increases in the order of decreasing ionization energy, Li<Na<K.
