Collision prediction system using intermittent ultrasonic wave

In this paper we propose a method to determine using ultrasonic wave whether a moving object collides with observer and to predict time to collide in case of colliding with it. In previous study, in the case where a target is relatively close to an observer and is moving at low speed, collision detection was impossible. In order to resolve this problem, we constructed new algorithm that collision detection is performed using a trajectory of the moving object. We conduct experiments to confirm an usefulness of the algorithm actually. Experimental results show that it can work as a collision predictor.
Field-induced quantum critical point in the pressure-induced superconductor CeRhIn<sub>5</sub>

<P>When subjected to pressure, the prototypical heavy-fermion antiferromagnet CeRhIn<SUB>5</SUB> becomes superconducting, forming a broad dome of superconductivity (SC) centred around 2.35 GPa (=P2) with maximal T<SUB>c</SUB> of 2.3 K. Above the superconducting dome, the normal state shows strange metallic behaviours, including a divergence in the specific heat and a sub-T-linear electrical resistivity. The discovery of a field-induced magnetic phase that coexists with SC for a range of pressures P ≤ P2 has been interpreted as evidence for a quantum phase transition, which could explain the non-Fermi-liquid behaviour observed in the normal state. Here we report electrical resistivity measurements of CeRhIn<SUB>5</SUB> under magnetic field at P2, where the resistivity is sub-T-linear for temperatures above T<SUB>c</SUB> (or T<SUB>FL</SUB>) and a T<SUP>2</SUP>-coefficient A found below T<SUB>FL</SUB> diverges as H<SUB>c2</SUB> is approached. These results are similar to the field-induced quantum critical compound CeCoIn<SUB>5</SUB> and confirm the presence of a quantum critical point in the pressure-induced superconductor CeRhIn<SUB>5</SUB>. This paper is mainly concerned with the voltage fed voltage clamped type half bridge high frequency inverter which efficiently operates at zero current soft swltching(ZCS) mode in order to minimize switching losses and electrical stresses of the switching device. This proposed high frequency inverter using SI power device is more suitable for modern induction heating power supply. A new conceptional ZCS high frequency inverter is basically presented including control strategy and remarkable features are discussed.

AHS (Advanced Cruise-assist Highway Systems) by road-vehicle cooperation will provide various information about accident blackspots, obstacles ahead, end of vehicle queues, etc. in real time to travelling vehicles to minimize the risk when driving. These services provided by ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) on-board units will increase. In the phase of entering the ITS on-board units into market, there are mixed-up situations that vehicles are set it up or not. A driving simulator used to keep the traffic environment constant. The number of a rear-end collision, driver behavior such as speed, brake operation of the following vehicle. After experiment, workload (perception / judgment / operation) was evaluated relating to the obstacles ahead. There were effective results that the number of collision accident was reduced through giving driver previous attention to the blackspot in the case of setting up the ITS on-broad unit. However, there was not much effective possibility of accident collided by the other cars when the following vehicle did not set it up.

To perform the lipase-catalyzed synthesis of Lascorbic acid derivatives from plant-based compounds such as cinnamic and ferulic acid under mild reaction conditions, the activities of immobilized Candida ntarctica lipase with different cinnamic acid esters and substituted cinnamic acids were compared. As a result, immobilized C. ntarctica lipase was found to prefer vinyl cinnamic acid to other esters such as allyl-, ethyl-, and isobutyl cinnamic acids as well as substituted cinnamic acids such as pcoumaric acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and sinapic acid. Based on these results, large-scale synthesis of 6-Ocinnamyl-L-ascorbic acid ester was performed using immobilized C. ntarctica lipase in dry organic solvent,resulting in 68% yield (493 mg) as confirmed by 13CNMR.

By using the Hao-Clem model, we analyzed the equilibrium magnetization of the grain-aligned HgBa<SUB>2</SUB>Ca<SUB>4</SUB>Cu<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12+y</SUB> (Hg1245) with T<SUB>c</SUB>~108K. We obtained thermodynamic parameters, such as the penetration depth [λ<SUB>ab</SUB>(0)] and the coherence length [ξ<SUB>ab</SUB>(0)] from the thermodynamic critical field [H<SUB>c</SUB>] and the Ginzburg-Landau parameter [κ]. Compared to the four layered superconductor HgBa<SUB>2</SUB>Ca<SUB>3</SUB>Cu<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>10+y</SUB> (Hg1234), the obtained penetration depth was slightly increased indicating that the Cooper pair density of Hg1245 was decreased, which was one of the reasons why the transition temperature (T<SUB>c</SUB>) of the Hg1245 did not increase as compared to the Hg1234. The expected increase of T<SUB>c</SUB> for the material with the more CuO<SUB>2</SUB> planes was not achieved because of the insufficient doping of the Cooper pairs while adding CuO<SUB>2</SUB> planes.
Thermodynamic properties of five-layered HgBa2Ca4Cu5O12+y from equilibrium magnetization
