The wastewater from textile industry typically containing high alkalify, salts, organic matter, and high color. Textile wastewater is usually treated by anaerobic-aerobic activated-sludge process. The activated-sludge process is effective the reduction of organic matter, but generally does not remove color. Ozone process is one of the most effective process in removal of color for the textile wastewater. Ozone has a strong oxidized dissolution of organism, deceleration, deodorization, fumigation, etc., regarding to water. This study focused on the color removal of textile wastewater. In this study, textile wastewater was treated strongly with ozone at 650mg/hr and the flow rate through ozone contact tank was adjusted to 5L/min. In an application Ozone treatment, Color was generally decreased with time, however, COD removal effect was not that good. In this study, the removal efficiencies of CODcr and Color were 23.5%, 80.4% respectively.
평양 남정리 53호분 출토 토제칠기의 보존 및 제작기법 연구 : 토제칠이배, 토제칠반, 토제칠안

본고는 일제 강점기 조사 미등록 유물 정리사업의 일환으로 수행한 평양 남정리 53호분 출토 토제칠이배, 토제칠반, 토제칠안에 관한 연구이다. 남정리 출토 유물은 소지가 목심이 아닌 토제라는 것과 칠이배와 칠반을 얹은 칠안이 함께 출토되었다는 점에서 주목할 만하다. 토제칠이배 및 칠반 그리고 칠안의 보존처리를 통해 이들의 형태와 문양 등에 대해 알 수 있었다. 또한 칠기에 사용된 붉은색 안료의 성분을 분석하여 안료의 주성분이 진사(HgS)였음을 확인하였다. 이번 연구에서 기존에 잘 알려지지 않았던 한반도 내 위치한 낙랑의 토제칠기에 관해 살펴볼 수 있었으며 이러한 제작방법이 한나라 고유의 문화인지 아니면 재지세력이 한나라의 영향을 받아 현지화한 문화의 산물인지에 대해 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회라 생각된다. This research paper examines the lacquered pottery cup, plate and table unearthed from Tomb No. 53 at Namjeong-ri in Pyongyang, which were under conservation treatment as a part of the Project of Unregistered Artefacts Uncovered in the Japanese Colonial Era. It is very rare to have a lacquered pottery cup and plate, lying on a lacquered pottery table, as a set of grave goods. In particular, they are not wooden but pottery items. Through conservation treatment for lacquered pottery cup, plate and table, it was possible to find out their shapes and decoration patterns. The resulting analysis of the red pigment used indicates that cinnabar (HgS) is the main element. This research is significant because it examines lacquered pottery wares produced in Lelang, which has rarely been conducted. Further research will need to prove whether their production techniques were in the unique Chinese Han style or were produced by indigenous craftsmen who adopted the Chinese Han technique.
Resistance exercise improves cardiac function and mitochondrial efficiency in diabetic rat hearts

<P>Metabolic disturbance and mitochondrial dysfunction are a hallmark of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DC). Resistance exercise (RE) not only enhances the condition of healthy individuals but could also improve the status of those with disease. However, the beneficial effects of RE in the prevention of DC and mitochondrial dysfunction are uncertain. Therefore, this study investigated whether RE attenuates DC by improving mitochondrial function using an in vivo rat model of diabetes. Fourteen Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty rats were assigned to sedentary control (SC, n = 7) and RE (n = 7) groups at 28 weeks of age. Long-Evans Tokushima Otsuka rats were used as the non-diabetic control. The RE rats were trained by 20 repetitions of climbing a ladder 5 days per week. RE rats exhibited higher glucose uptake and lower lipid profiles, indicating changes in energy metabolism. RE rats significantly increased the ejection fraction and fractional shortening compared with the SC rats. Isolated mitochondria in RE rats showed increase in mitochondrial numbers, which were accompanied by higher expression of mitochondrial biogenesis proteins such as proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1 alpha and TFAM. Moreover, RE rats reduced proton leakage and reactive oxygen species production, with higher membrane potential. These results were accompanied by higher superoxide dismutase 2 and lower uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) and UCP3 levels in RE rats. These data suggest that RE is effective at ameliorating DC by improving mitochondrial function, which may contribute to the maintenance of diabetic cardiac contractility.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Pinus koraiensis</I> pinecones are considered an undesired waste by-product of the processing of seeds. However, recent studies of the potential anti-tumor effects of the pinecones have led to increasing interest in their chemical constituents. The present study examined the potential antiangiogenic effects of the constituents of pinecones and further characterized their underlying mechanisms of action. Chemical investigation of a water extract of <I>P. koraiensis</I> pinecones led to the isolation and identification of the eight main components including five diterpenoids (<B>1</B>–<B>5</B>), two monoterpenes (<B>6</B>,<B>7</B>) and a phenolic acid (<B>8</B>). The structure of the compounds was determined by spectroscopic analysis of NMR spectra and LC/MS analysis. Of the isolated compounds, 7α,15-dihydroxydehydroabietic acid (<B>5</B>) significantly inhibited the promotion of angiogenesis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Compound <B>5</B> inhibited angiogenesis through downregulation of the VEGF, p-Akt and p-ERK signaling pathways. These results provide experimental evidence of a novel biological activity of 7α,15-dihydroxydehydroabietic acid (<B>5</B>) as a potential antiangiogenic substance. This study also suggests that compound <B>5</B> could potentially be a useful adjuvant therapeutic substance for cancer prevention and treatment.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Recently although the PID advertising services are often provided in the heavily populated areas such as department stores, public office, airports, and terminals, there is a disadvantage that the services can be provided only by using the expensive PID advertising system in which TV and advertisement transmitting devices are tightly coupled but not by the existing TV sets. In this paper, to lower the cost of the tightly coupled PID advertising system, a cost-effective advertisement transmitting device has been designed and implemented, which can transmit advertisements video signal through the existing TV set by simple connection to the existing TV set. In addition, the device includes the functions which can remotely monitor the state of TV’s power supply to let the advertiser know whether PID advertisements are being transmitted to the customers and turn on TV set if necessary. The implemented low-cost device would considerably contribute to widespread deployment of PID advertising services.

현재의 가로등 제어 시스템은 일출일몰 데이터에 의존하여 가로등을 제어하는 방식으로 도로의 밝기의 상관없이 시간에 의해서만 가로등이 점·소등 되고 있다. 따라서 도로면과 그 부근에 존재하는 물체에 충분한 빛을 주어 보행자나 차량 운전자의 시야를 확보 해주어야 하는 가로등이 제 기능을 제대로 하지 못하는 시간대가 생길 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 별도의 광센서를 사용하지 않고, 태양전지 모듈을 사용하는 발전 가로등에서 태양전지 모듈만을 이용하여 조도를 측정하는 센서로 활용하여 도로 조도에 따라 가로등의 밝기를 제어하는 발전 가로등 등주제어기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 또한 낮 시간대에 갑자기 날씨가 흐려져 도로의 조도가 낮아지는 긴급 상황에서도 대응하여 가로등을 작동 시킬 수 있는 기능을 포함하고 있다. Current controling system of streetlight depends on data of sunrise and sunset, it has nothing to do with brightness but only relies on time for turning streetlight on and off. Therefore, it is possible to do not work its function which is secure driver"s sight around roads. Thus, this paper designed and materialized a character of streetlight generator controller. It could control brightness of streetlight depending on illuminance of roads. In order to make it, we did not use a light sensor but use a sensor in the use of streetlight generator. This sensor is run by using PV module. Furthermore, it contains additional function respond to emergency such as cloudy weather. If the cloudy weather comes suddenly, illuminance of roads would be low.
