Heat-induced coarsening of layer-by-layer assembled mixed Au and Pd nanoparticles

This article shows the coarsening behavior of nanoparticle multilayers during heat treatments which produce larger metallic nanostructures with varying shapes and sizes on glass slides. Nanoparticle multilayer films are initially constructed via the layer-by-layer self-assembly of small and monodispersed gold and/or palladium nanoparticles with different compositions (gold only, palladium only, or both gold and palladium) and assembly orders (compounding layers of gold layers over palladium layers or vice versa). Upon heating the slides at $600^{\circ}C$, the surface nanoparticles undergo coalescence becoming larger nanostructured metallic films. UV-Vis results show a clear reliance of the layering sequence on the optical properties of these metal films, which demonstrates an importance of the outmost (top) layers in each nanoparticle multilayer films. Topographic surface features show that the heat treatments of nanoparticle multilayer films result in the nucleation of nanoparticles and the formation of metallic cluster structures. The results confirm that different composition and layering sequence of nanoparticle multilayer films clearly affect the coalescence behavior of nanoparticles during heat treatments.
고등학생의 자기표현 능력 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램 개발 및 효과 검증

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생을 대상으로 자기표현능력 향상 집단상담 프로그램을 구안하고, 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 프로그램 개발과정은 박인우(1995)의 체계적인 상담 프로그램 개발 모형에 따라 조사, 분석, 설계, 구안, 적용의 5단계로 이루어졌 다. 조사단계에서는 다양한 선행연구 고찰과 105명의 학생들을 대상으로 요구조사 를 실시하였다. 분석단계에서는 조사단계의 결과를 바탕으로 프로그램 목적, 회기별 목표, 회기수를 결정하였다. 설계 및 구안단계는 목적, 목표, 회기별 목표에 따른 활 동안을 작성하였고 이론전문가 및 현장전문가의 자문과정과 예비검사 과정을 거쳐 수정·보완하여 최종 프로그램을 구안하였다. 적용단계에서는 경기도내 인문계 고등 학교 학생 24명을 실험집단 12명과 통제집단 12명을 배치하여 프로그램을 처치하고 프로그램 전후 자기표현능력 검사(Self-Expression Scale: SES)를 실시하고 독립표 본 t-검정과 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 실험집단의 자기표현능력의 변화가 통제집단과 유의한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 개발된 고등학생 의 자기표현능력 향상을 위한 집단상담 프로그램은 고등학생의 자기표현 능력을 향 상시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to design group counseling program to enhance self-expression skills for high school students, and to verify the effectiveness of designed program. The process of program development was done in five steps-investigation, analysis, design, development, application- of systematic counseling program development model(Park, 1995). In the research step, various previous studies were investigated and research of demand was conducted with 105 students. In the analysis step, objectives of programs, session-specific goals, and the number of sessions were determined based on the results of the investigation phase. In the design and development step, activities were made based on the objectives and goals, and they were modified and supplemented through the consultation process by experts and practitioners, and finally final program was developed. In the application phase, Gyeonggi 24 students were placed and treated in the experimental group 12 students and in the control group 12 students. They were conducted self-expression scales test before and after the program(Shon & Ju, 2014), and it was analyzed by independent t-test and paired t-test. Results of the analysis, changes in self-expression ability of the experimental group was significantly different from the control group. Therefore, group counseling program for enhancing self-expression skills of high school students in this study showed that group counseling program has a positive impact on improving the ability of self-expression in high school.
Evaluation of Design Issues and the Social Perceptions of the Asian Culture Complex, South Korea

This study aims to understand and analyze the social recognition and debate shown during the progress of the Asian Culture Complex (ACC) public project as well as the environmental evaluation performed by provincial community members. A 30-question survey based on a Likert scale was conducted with 150 experts. The study showed, first, that despite controversies over landmarks and historical locations, the quality of the architect’s first draft was considered fairly high. However, vibrant landmarks were greatly desired. Furthermore, respondents reported conflicting recognitions of the same concept, which were defined differently depending on the terms and concepts used by the architect. Second, historical locations were considered important. The architects’ final design was modified based on quality and in response to social pressure, resulting in the partial retention of the provincial government annex building. Although the first draft was considered to be of high quality, the modified plan was considered even better than the original design, revealing the 2-fold characteristics of the identical phenomenon in the environmental evaluation. Third, many groups held opinions that were balanced between the architects’ originality and the value of community-based recognition; hence, the social inclination and evaluation of the project differed across the public.

<P>A dense nanostructured TiC with a relative density of up to 98% was produced with simultaneous application of 80 MPa pressure and pulsed current of 2800 A using the nanopowder of TiC. The effect of the ball milling times on the sintering behavior, grain size and mechanical properties of binderless TiC was investigated.</P>
