        실내 스모그 챔버의 설계 및 성능평가

        A multi-functional indoor smog chamber was designed and evaluated lo investigate photochenical or water vapor reaction mechanisms of air pollutants. Various smog chamber experiments could be conducted using ambient air or purified air in this smog chamber. The smog chamber consisted of a housing, a Teflon bag, blacklights, injection ports, sampling ports, and utility facilities. The characteristics of light source, the wall losses of air pollutants, and the quality of purified air were experimentally investigated. The maximum NO₂ photolysis rate was 1.10min^(-1). In a 2.5-m³ Teflon bag, the wall losses of ambient O₃, NO, and NO₂were 1.2~2.4×10^(-3)min^(-1), 0.7~2.0×10^(-3)min^(-1), and 0.4-2.0×10^(-3)min^(-1), respectively. The wall loss of ambient particles ranging 0.05 to 0.2㎛ was 1.8~5.4×10^(-3)min^(-1), which was slightly higher than those of ambient gaseous species. The purified air supply system provided high quality of air with NO₂, < 1 ppb, and total hydrocarbons <5 ppb.

        입원치료를 요하는 소아의 급성복증

        The acute abdomen defined as an acute abdominal condition which needs immediate decision for treatment is one of the most common cause for emergency care. One thound six hundreds nine patients were visited to pediatric emergency center due to acute abdomen. To aid in early diagnosis and proper treatment, a clinical review was made on 278 cases of acute abdomen under 15 yrs old which admitted to Pediatrics and General surgery via emergency center from June of 1994 to May of 1995. The results as follows: It was 17.3% of total visiting to pediatric emergency center due to gastrointestinal sysmptoms. The sex ratio(Male: Female) was 2.35:1. Acute gastroenteristis was the most common acute abdominal condition(54%) and followed by acute appendicitis(17.9%), and intussusception(13.9%). The most common chief commplaint was vomiting(58%) and followed by abdominal pain(39.4%), diarrhea(35.8%), and fever(42.1%). One hundred fifty-five patients were visited to pediatric emergency center via local clinic and thirty patients via OPDs. The operations were done in 75 patients. Among them, immediate operation were done in 60 patients and delayed operations were done in 15 patients, but there is no difference in complication.

      • 운동수행에 매실음료의 스포츠음료 대처효과

        The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in the effect of ion drink and plum drink, the Korea traditional drink, on the human body during treadmill training. For the purpose, this study sample 6male basketball players of university: The subjects were made to drink 500㎖, of the plum drink and the ion drink in each 20minutes before they began Treadmill training. The findings are as follows; 1. The ion drink and the plum drink had the biggest effets on the pressure, myocardial oxygen demand, and lactate right after the training was ended the effets gradually diminish. In the particular, there was a significant difference in the effects of the ion drink and the plum drink on the blood pressure, myocadial oxygen demand and lactate(P<.05), when they were measured at the above-mentioned measureing times. However, there was no significent difference in the effects of the two drinks on the blood pressure at the measuring times. 2. The effects of the ion drink and the plum drink on experied gas volume was the hightes 1minute before the all-out training was ended, and then gradually dismised. there was a significent differance in the effects of the two drinks at the measuring times(P<05), bur there was no difference in the two drinks. 3. The effects of the ion drink and the plum drink on the heart rate were the heighest after the training was finished and then gradually diminished. There was a significant(P<.05) in the effects at the measuring times, but there was no difference in the two drinks. The results showed that the effects of the plum drink and the ion drink on the body during the treadmill training were same and that the natural plum drink was considered to be more helpful comparing to the artifical ion drink from the viewpoint of nutrition.

        치과응용을 위한 알루미나-유리 복합체 제조

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of alumina-glass dental composites. Four different borosilicate glasses containing 1, 2, 3, 4 mol% Li₂O were prepared. Porous alumina compacts of 12.0 mm in diameter and 1.0 mm in thickness were prepared with alumina powders of 1.8 and 4.6㎛ by slip casting and sintered at 1,120℃ for 2 hours. Dense composites were made by infiltration of molten glass into partially sintered alumina at 1200℃ for 6 hours. All samples were polished sequentially from #600 to #2,000 diamond disk, and the final surface finishing on the tensile side was received an additional polishing sequence through 0.3㎛ diamond paste. Apparent porosity of alumina-glass composites was measured by means of the KS L3114 method. Biaxial flexure test was conducted by using ball-on-three-ball method at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. To examine the microstructural aspect of crack propagation, Vickers-produced indentation crack and fracture surfaces were examined by SEM. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Apparent porosity rate decreased according to the increasing with the particle size of alumina. 2. The maximum biaxial flexure strength of 365.26 MPa was obtained with an addition of 4 mol% Li₂O in glass composition. 3. The maximum fracture toughness of3.95 MPa·m½ was obtained with an addition of 3 mol% Li₂O. 4. The crack deflection and crack bridging were the principal strengthening mechanisms in the alumina-glass composites.

        Prenatal ultarsound represents an accurate and reliable method for the detection of intrauterine anomalies, especially urinary tract anomalies. Hydronephrosis is the most common congenital condition detected by prenatal ultrasound. Prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis allows a good condition and therapeutic assessment of the patients prior to serious impairment of renal function so that in most cases the urological surgeon can opt for a parenchymal conserving procedure. The authors have experienced a case of congenital ureteropelvic obstruction with hydronephrosis diagnosed at 32 weeks of pregnancy and report our experience with a brief review of literature.

      • 6082 A1합금의 시효거동

        6082 Al합금의 미세조직 및 기계적 성질에 미치는 시효처리의 영향을 시차주사열분석기, 투과전자현미경 및 미소경도 시험을 통하여 조사하엿다. 170℃, 9시간의 시효열처리에 의해서 118Hv의 최대경도값이 얻어졌으며, 이는 GP zone과 β'상의 석출에 의한 것이었다. 최대경도 이후의 경도 감소는 완만한 감소를 나타내었는데 이러한 결과는 β'에서 β로의 변태속도가 매우 늦다는 것을 의미한다. 이 합금의 석출과정은 GP zone →불안정 hcp Mg₂Si(β') →평형 fcc Mg₂Si(β)이었다. The effect of aging treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of 6082 aluminum alloy was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, transmission electron microscopy and microhardness measurement. The maximum hardness(118Hv) was obtained from the specimen aged at 170℃ for 9hrs due to the formation of GP zones and metastable β' phase. In over-aged condition, decrement of hardness showed not so much. This results was attributed to the very slow transformation rate from β' to β phase. It was found that the precipitation sequency was GP zone→metastable hexagonal Mg₂Si(β') →equilibrium fcc Mg₂Si(β).

      • Durable Press 加工에 있어서 遊離포름알데히드의 捕捉效果

        This study was investigated on the effects of scavenger treatment for low formaldehyde release from durable press finished cotton fabrics using saturation pad method. And possibility of foam application in durable press cotton fabrics was investigated. Cotton cellulosic fabric was crosslinked with DMDHEU in the presence of magnesium chloride as a catalyst and polyhdroxy alcohols as a formaldehyde scavenger. Optimum concentration of formaldehyde scavengers on the durable press finished cotton fabrics were about 4%. Most favourable pH of the pad solution and wash water were about 5. The glycols and glycerol were the most effective formaldehyde scavenger. The glycol class of polyhydroxy alcohol is water soluble and is compatible and effective with crosslinking agent.

      • 신경교세포 및 RAW 264.7 세포에서 Protein kinase의 활성에 의한 유도성 Nitric oxide synthase의 발현

        NO(nitric oxide) plays an important role as neurotransmitter or cytokine, and pathologic factor for some diseases by the large amount production with iNOS(inducible NO synthase) expression in macrophages or glial cells. The expression of iNOS is regulated by various cytokines, protein kinases and transcription factors. In this experiment, to investigate the roles of progein kinase and NF-kB for iNOS expression, the effects of PMA(phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate), cAMP, and various protein kinase inhibitors on LPS(lipopolysaccharide)-induced iNOS mRNAN expression and nuclear NF-kB binding complex were examined in C6 glial cells and RAW 264.7 cells. In C6 glial cells, iNOS mRNA expression by LPS was induced from 1 hour and peak at 3 hour after treatment. In RAW 264.7 cells, the mRNA was observed from 3 hour and peak at 6 hour. PMA enhanced markedly LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression and NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells, but did not much influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression in RAW 264.7 cells, in spite of increased LPS-induced NF-kB binding complex at 30 min. cAMP(dibutyryl cAMP) did not much influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression, by increased LPS-induced NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells. However, in RAW 264.7 cells, cAMP increased slightly LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression without change of NF-kB binding complex. Staurosporine did not influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression and NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells, but in RAW 264.7 cells, decreased LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression and NF-kB binding complex. Ro-31-8220 did not much influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression and NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells, but in RAW 264.7 cells, decreased significantly LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression in spite of increased LPS-induced NF-kB binding complex for 3hours. G 6976 did not much influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression with decreased NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells, but in RAW 264.7 cells, decreased iNOS mRNA expression without influence on LPS-induced NF-kB binding complex. Genistein did not influence on LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression and NF-kB binding complex in C6 glial cells, but in RAW 264.7 cells, decreased LPS-induced iNOS mRNA expression inspite of increased NF-kB binding complex. These results suggest that LPS-induced regulation of iNOS expression or NF-kB activity in C6 glial cells, might be different from RAW 264.7 cells through various protein kinases or other factors.

        이트리아 첨가 붕규산염 유리로 제조한 알루미나-유리 복합체의 강도 평가

        This study was performed to investigate the strength of dental alumina-glass composites. Four different brosilicacte glasses containing 1, 3, 6, 9 mol% Y₂O³ were prepared. Alumina compacts were prepared by pressing 150㎏/㎠ and sintering at 1100℃ for 2 hours. Dense composites were made by infiltrating partially sintered alumina with at 1200℃ for 6 hours. The obtained results were summarized as follows: 1. With increasing the amount of Y₂O₃ the peak of exothermic heat and softening point were shifted to the higher temperature. 2. Borosilicate glasses showed the coefficient of thermal expansion in the range of 6.36 to 6.56×10-6/℃. 3. The maximum biaxial strength of 385.7±34.4MPa was obtained with an addition of 6mol% Y₂O₃. 4. The observation of fracture surfaces showed the crack deflection and crack bridging and that appeared to be the principal strengthening mechanism in the alumina-glass composites.

        초기 톨루엔 농도가 톨루엔-NOx-공기 혼합물의 광산화 반응에 미치는 영향 : I. 가스상 물질의 변화 I. Change of Gaseous Species

        An experimental investigation of the gas-phase photooxidation of toluene-NO_(x)-air mixtures at sub-ppm concentrations has been carried out in a 6.9 ㎥, indoor smog chamber irradiated by blacklights. Measured parameters in the toluene-NOx experiments included O₃, NO, NO₂, NO_(x), CO, SO₂, toluene, and air temperature. The initial toluene concentration ranged from 225 ppb to 991 ppb and the initial concentration ratio of toluene/NOx in ppbC/ppb was in the range of 5~20. It was found that the variation of gaseous species with irradiation time caused by the photooxidation of toluene-NOx-air mixtures depended on the initial toluene concentration for similar concentration ratio of toluene/NOx. The dependency of initial toluene concentration on the photooxidation of toluene-NO_(x)-air mixtures for toluene/NOx =5~6 seemed to be opposite to that for toluene/NOx=10~11. The arriving time at maximum ozone concentration depended on both initial toluene concentration and initial concentration ratio of toluene/NOx. However, the maximum concentration of ozone formed by photooxidation depended only on the initial toluene concentration.
