In order to investigate the mechanism of regulation of progesterone production, quail were hypophysectomized at various times during the ovulation cycle, and granulose cells were isolated from follicles 4 hr after the operation. They were incubated in vitro at $40^{\circ}C$ with or without LH or dibutyryl cyclic AMP, and the amounts of progesterone produced during 3 hr of incubation were measured by radioimmunoassay. Hypophysectomy at 8 hr or 20 hr before the predicted time of ovulation caused a reduced responsiveness of F1 granulosa cells to exogenous LH or dibutyrul cyclic AMP. Although hypophysectomy at 24 hr before ovulation caused a slight reduction of responsiveness of F1 granulosa cells, the reduction of the progesterone production during the incubation without any stimuli was prominent by the sham operation. These results suggest that the presence of pituitary gland influences the ability of the granulose cells to produce progesterone in response to LH or dibutyryl cyclic AMP.
A Systematic study on the growth of GaN single crystals using the Na-based fluxmethod
M. Kawahara,Y. Yamada,H. Umeda,M. Morishita,F. Kawamura,M. Yoshimura,Y. Mori,T. Sasaki 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2005 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.6 No.2
To obtain bulk gallium nitride (GaN) single crystals applicable as the substrate for GaN homoepitaxial growth, we have adopted the Na flux method with some modifications. Assuming that a key reaction of this method is nitrogen dissolution into a flux, we considered both the gas composition and the liquid phase composition. The use of ammonia gas had effects in lowering the threshold pressure for the GaN growth compared with the nitrogen gas which had been used in the original Na flux method. The composition change from pure Na to a mixture of Ca and Na for the flux also brought some favorable effects such as lowering the threshold pressure, and an improvement in the crystal transparency. Finally, the liquid phase epitaxy (LPE) technique along with the Na-based flux method led to the growth of bulk GaN single crystals with much lower dislocation densities than the seed crystals.
Accelerated SCC Testing of Stainless Steels According to Corrosion Resistance Classes
( M Borchert ),( G Mori ),( M Bischof ),( A Tomandl ) 한국부식방식학회(구 한국부식학회) 2015 Corrosion Science and Technology Vol.14 No.6
The German Guidelines for stainless steel in buildings (Z. 30. 3-6) issued by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) categorizevarious stainless steel grades into five corrosion resistance classes (CRCs). Only 21 frequently used grades are approved and assigned to these CRCs. To assign new or less commonly used materials, a large program of outdoor exposure tests and laboratory tests is required. The present paper shows theresults of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) tests that can distinguish between different CRCs. Slow strain rate tests (SSRT) were performedin various media and at different temperatures. CRC IV could be distinguished from CRC II and CRC III with a 31. 3 % Cl- as MgCl2 solutionat 140 °C. CRC II and CRC III could be differentiated by testing in a 30% Cl- as MgCl2 solutionat 100 °C.
Using EOG Signal to Control Robot Manipulator
M.I. Rusydi,Y. Mori,T. Okamoto,M. Sasaki,S. Ito 한국재활복지공학회 2012 한국재활복지공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2012 No.11
Electro-oculograph (EOG) is one of the biosignal that can be used to improve life quality in human machine interface area. EOG occurs as the eye activities change the magnitude of potential between cornea and retina. This signal was used to control robot manipulator in four directions (up, down, left and right). To record this phenomenon we used NF Instrument with head box to amplify the signal and processor box to process digital filter. Combination of 3 digital filter, 1.6 High Pass Filter, 60 Hz Low Pass Filter and 60 Hz Ham Filter added by 6 Hz Low Pass Filter gave neat signal until the difference among the eye movement could be distinguished. This is a real time system because we could detect when a signal comes and send it to the robot manipulator system through Arduino microcontroller. The determination of the signal emersion was successfully calculated by the combination of wavelet transform with scale = 1 and translation = 0.031 and garbor filter with O=1. Since the average accuracy of the system is more than 90% so we can use this method for some extend application later.
A Rare Case of Idiopathic Pyometra in a Premenopausal Patient
( Kristina M. Mori ),( Howard D. Epstein ),( Michael C. Roossin ),( Bram H. Goldstein ) 대한폐경학회 2020 대한폐경학회지 Vol.26 No.3
Pyometra is a very uncommon disease principally occurring in postmenopausal women. It is characterized by the accumulation of purulent material within the uterine cavity. This paper presents the clinical history of a 35-year-old premenopausal woman with otherwise normal menstruation who developed heavy menstruation and was diagnosed with a benign pyometra of indeterminate etiology in March 2017. The patient underwent repeated ultrasound-guided drainage, dilation and curettage, and antibiotic therapy. Biopsies of the pelvic sidewall revealed endometriosis in June 2017. The heavy menstruation and suppurative fluid in the uterus of the patient persisted in which intramuscular leuprolide acetate was prescribed to address the endometriosis and heavy menstrual bleeding. Ultimately, the leuprolide acetate effectively resolved the patient’s bleeding and pyometra. The medication was concluded after 12 months of supervision and the patient is currently symptom free. Pyometra is an unusual condition rarely identified in premenopausal women. Drainage and antibiotic therapy are routinely employed; however, one may consider gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist medication to potentially confer a beneficial patient outcome in rare cases where endometriosis and bleeding are intractable.
Nutrient-Based Appetite Regulation
Jose M. Moris,Corrinn Heinold,Alexandra Blades,고윤석 대한비만학회 2022 Journal of obesity & metabolic syndrome Vol.31 No.2
Regulation of appetite is dependent on crosstalk between the gut and the brain, which is a pathway described as the gut-brain axis (GBA). Three primary appetite-regulating hormones that are secreted in the gut as a response to eating a meal are glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), cholecystokinin (CCK), and peptide YY (PYY). When these hormones are secreted, the GBA responds to reduce appetite. However, secretion of these hormones and the response of the GBA can vary depending on the types of nutrients consumed. This narrative review describes how the gut secretes GLP-1, CCK, and PYY in response to proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. In addition, the GBA response based on the quality of the meal is described in the context of which meal types produce greater appetite suppression. Last, the beneficiary role of exercise as a mediator of appetite regulation is highlighted.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The FINUDA experiment performed a systematic study of the charged mesonic weak decay channel of <I>p</I>-shell <I>Λ</I>-hypernuclei. Negatively charged pion spectra from mesonic decay were measured with magnetic analysis for the first time for 7<I>Λ</I>Li, 9<I>Λ</I>Be, 11<I>Λ</I>B and 15<I>Λ</I>N. High-energy protons are generated with a 3-μm-thick tantalum target irradiated with a highintensity laser under the preformed plasma condition. We observe the electron density distributions of preformed plasmas with two-color probe beams as interferometers. The preformed plasma at the front side of the target is generated by pre-pulses of a high-intensity Ti:sapphire laser. In this preformed plasma condition, the maximum proton enegy is 900 keV. The half angle of the generated proton beam (>500 keV) is about 10.
NEAR-INFRARED PAH FEATURES IN GALACTIC PLANETARY NEBULAE
R. Ohsawa,O.ONAKA,I.SAKON,T.I. MORI,H.KANEDA,M.MATSUURA 한국천문학회 2017 天文學論叢 Vol.32 No.1
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are considered to be carriers of the unidentified infrared bands, which are ubiquitously observed in the Universe. PAHs are mainly formed around evolved carbon-rich stars and injected into interstellar space. Planetary nebulae (PNe), a late stage of low- and intermediate stellar mass evolution, are suitable objects to investigate the formation and evolution of PAHs. The shortest PAH feature is located in 3.3$\,\mu$m, which is important to examine the excitation and size distribution of PAHs. While the number of samples had been limited before, the high sensitivity of \textit{AKARI}/IRC has drastically increased the number of samples. We obtained the 2--5$\,\mu$m spectra of Galactic PNe with \textit{AKARI}/IRC and compiled a near-infrared spectral catalog, containing 73 PNe. We investigate the detection rate and the evolution of the PAH features. The characteristics of the catalog are illustrated and the origin of the evolution of the PAH features is discussed.
THE CENTRAL REGION OF THE BARRED SPIRAL GALAXY NGC 1097 PROBED BY AKARI NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY
Kondo, T.,Kaneda, H.,Oyabu, S.,Ishihara, D.,Mori, T.,Yamagishi, M.,Onaka, T.,Sakon, I.,Suzuki, T. The Korean Astronomical Society 2012 天文學論叢 Vol.27 No.4
With AKARI, we carried out near-infrared spectroscopy of the nearby barred spiral galaxy, NGC 1097, categorized as Seyfert 1 with a circumnuclear starburst ring. Our observations mapped the galactic center region. As a result, we obtain the spatial distributions of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon $3.3{\mu}m$ and the aliphatic hydrocarbon $3.4-3.6{\mu}m$ emission. The former is detected from all the observed regions and the latter is enhanced near the bar connecting the ring with the nucleus. In addition, we detect absorption features due to $H_2O$ ice and CO/SiO at the ring and the galactic center, while we detect the hydrogen recombination line $Br{\alpha}$ only from the ring. Hence the observed spectra change dramatically within the central 1 kpc region.
