The results of applying enhanced-surface-area packed-bed (ESAP) electrodes in electrogenerative SO₂/O₂ cells are reported to illustrate their utility and potential applications. Mathematical analysis with parameters pertinent to the experimental conditions shows that all electrocatalyst sites in these electrodes are expected to be uniformly utilized for electrochemical SO₂ oxidation. Experimental results showed that ESAP electrodes (1 ㎎ Pt/㎠) could provide at least 5 times higher SO₂ conversion at given cell voltages than graphite sheet electrodes (1.5 ㎎ Pt/㎠).
60 GHz switched-line-type phase shifter using body-floating switches in 0.13 μm CMOS technology
Jong-Wook Lee,Seong-Yeon Kim IET 2012 Electronics letters Vol.48 No.7
<P>A two-bit switched-line type phase shifter has been designed and fabricated for 60 GHz phase array applications. A body-floating technique is used to reduce the insertion loss of the on-state switch while the off-state isolation is increased by the use of a resonating inductor connected across the switch. The size of the delay path in the phase shifter is reduced by adopting a lumped equivalent circuit realisation. Measurements demonstrate a minimum insertion loss of 8.2 dB with an average value of 8.9 dB at 60 GHz, with a return loss smaller than 12 dB over the frequency range 57-64 GHz.</P>

An acaenitine genus, Spilopteron Townes, 1960, is reported for the first time in Korea with S. mucronatus Lee new species. A key to the Korean genera of the tribe Acaenitini Foerster, 1869, description of the a species and photographs of diagnostic characters are provided.
Numerical Studies on the Approximation of Horizontal Diffusion using Sigma Coordinate System
Jong Wook Lee,Michael D. Teubner,John B. Nixon,Yong-Sik Cho 대한토목학회 2006 KSCE journal of civil engineering Vol.10 No.2
In this paper, horizontal diffusion using sigma coordinates was examined numerically. To transform the horizontal diffusion equation, the chain rule was applied twice resulting in extra terms that are cumbersome to treat computationally. Two published direct modifications to the transformed equation were chosen, and numerical solutions using these modified equations are compared to those using the fully transformed equation. Our numerical studies have shown that only the fully transformed equation produces realistic solutions.
A Long-Range UHF-Band Passive RFID Tag IC Based on High-<tex> $Q$</tex> Design Approach
Jong-Wook Lee,Bomson Lee IEEE 2009 IEEE transactions on industrial electronics Vol.56 No.7
<P>We present a fully integrated long-range UHF-band passive radio-frequency-identification tag chip fabricated in 0.35-mum CMOS using titanium (Ti/Al/Ta/Al)-silicon Schottky diodes. The diodes showed low turn-on voltages of 95 and 140 mV for diode currents of 1 and 5 muA, respectively. In addition, the Schottky diodes exhibited low-resistive loss, and a high-<I>Q</I> -factor design approach was exploited to achieve a long read range for the tag integrated circuit (IC). An optimized voltage multiplier resulted in an excellent sensitivity of -14.8 dBm and corresponding power-conversion efficiency of 36.2% for generating an output voltage of 1.5 V at 900 MHz. The range analysis of the measured multiplier performance indicated an operating range of more than 9 m at 4-W Effective Isotropically Radiated Power reader power. The subthreshold-mode operation of an ASK demodulator allowed ultralow power operation. Under power consumption as low as 27 nW, the demodulator supported a data rate of 150 kb/s and a modulation depth of 40%. A new architecture for generating a stable system clock (2.2 MHz) for the tag IC was employed to deal with supply voltage and temperature variations. Measurements showed that the clock generator had an error of 0.91% from the center frequency owing to an 8-b digital calibration scheme.</P>
