Parameter Analysis of Progressive Collapse Simulation of Long-Span Spatial Grid Structures

        Jian-peng Wei,Li-Min Tian,Ji-Ping Hao 한국강구조학회 2019 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.19 No.6

To accurately simulate the collapse process of long-span spatial grid structures, certain key parameters should be treated carefully. In the present study, the eff ects of the strain rate and the damage and fracture parameters were analyzed. A numerical simulation shows the following information: (1) First, the Cowper-Symonds model is utilized to simulate the rate-dependent material properties, illustrating that the strain rate eff ect can be overlooked for a progressive collapse simulation. (2) Then, the constant failure strain method is used for a damage and fracture simulation. The fi rst fracture of the members is postponed, and the fi nal failure patterns are therefore quite diff erent with an increase in the initial damage-equivalent plastic strain. (3) And, the progressive collapse pattern is unaff ected while the fracture is delayed or prevented with a greater equivalent plastic strain of the fi nal failure. These results can provide a reference for determining the damage and fracture parameters. (4) Finally, the equivalent plastic strain of the initial damage is relevant to the stress triaxiality. After considering the stress triaxiality, there is a signifi cant diff erence compared with the constant failure strain model. The stress triaxiality must therefore be considered.

      • Aberrant Expression of HOXA5 and HOXA9 in AML

        Zhao, Peng,Tan, Li,Ruan, Jian,Wei, Xiao-Ping,Zheng, Yi,Zheng, Li-Xia,Jiang, Wei-Qin,Fang, Wei-Jia Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.9

Background: Aberrant expression of HOX gene expression has been observed in cancer. The purpose of this study was to investigate the alteration of HOXA5 and HOXA9 expression and their clinical significance in acute meloid leukemia (AML). Materials and Methods: The expression of HOXA5 and HOXA9 genes of bone marrow samples from 75 newly diagnosed AML patients and 22 healthy controls for comparison were examined by Real-time quantitative PCR (RQ-PCR) assay. Statistical analysis was conducted to evaluate HOXA5 and HOXA9 expression as possible biomarkers for AML. Results: The results showed that the complete remission rate (52.6%) of the patients who highly expressed HOXA5 and HOXA9 was significantly lower than that (88.9%) in patients who lowly express the genes (P=0.015). Spearmann correlation coefficients indicated that the expression levels for HOXA5 and HOXA9 genes were highly interrelated (r=0.657, P<0.001). Meanwhile, we detected significant correlations between HOXA9 expression and age in this limited set of patients (P=0.009). Conclusions: The results suggest a prognostic impact of increased expression of HOXA5 and HOXA9 in AML patients.

Attention and Working Memory Task-Load Dependent Activation Increase with Deactivation Decrease after Caffeine Ingestion

        Peng, Wei,Zhang, Jian,Chang, Da,Shen, Zhuo-Wen,Shang, Yuanqi,Song, Donghui,Ge, Qiu,Weng, Xuchu,Wang, Ze Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 2017 Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Vol.21 No.4

Purpose: Caffeine is the most widely consumed psychostimulant. It is often adopted as a tool to modulate brain activations in fMRI studies. However, its pharmaceutical effect on task-induced deactivation has not been fully examined in fMRI. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the effect of caffeine on both activation and deactivation under sustained attention. Materials and Methods: Task fMRI was acquired from 26 caffeine naive healthy volunteers before and after taking caffeine pill (200 mg). Results: Statistical analysis showed an increase in cognition-load dependent task activation but a decrease in load dependent de-activation after caffeine ingestion. Increase of attention and memory task activation and its load-dependence suggest a beneficial effect of caffeine on the brain even though it has no overt behavior improvement. The reduction of deactivation by caffeine and its load-dependence indicate reduced facilitation from task-negative networks. Conclusion: Caffeine affects brain activity in a load-dependent manner accompanied by a disassociation between task-positive network and task-negative network.

Experimental and numerical simulation study on the hydrodynamic characteristics of spherical and irregular-shaped particles in a 3D liquid-fluidized bed

        Jian Peng,Wei Sun,Haisheng Han,Le Xie,Yao Xiao 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.11

Recently, the fluidized bed has been shown to assist in improving the recovery of coarse minerals during flotation. In this study, the fluidization characteristics of spherical and irregular particles in a three-dimensional liquidsolid fluidized bed were studied by combining experimental and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. Fluidization experiments were performed to investigate the effect of superficial velocity, particle shape, and particle size on solid holdup and bed expansion height. CFD model coupled different drag models for spherical and irregular particles were developed and validated by the experimental data of bed expansion ratio and pressure drop. Based on 3D CFD simulations, the axial and radial direction distributions of solid holdup, axial velocity, as well as granular temperature were obtained. Their distribution characteristics were analyzed and discussed in detail. The reported experimental data and simulation results can improve the understanding of irregular granular liquid-solid fluidized bed and provide a basis for further research on fluidized bed flotation.

      • Research Paper : Pattern afPatterns of defoliation and their effect on the plant growth and photosynthetic characteristics of Ipomoea cairicaz

( Wei Hua Li ),( Jian Ning Luo ),( Xing Shan Tian ),( Chan Glian Peng ),( Xianye Zhou ) 한국잡초학회 2012 Weed Biology and Management Vol.12 No.1

In order to determine the susceptibility of Ipomoea cairica to herbivory, the compensatory growth and photosynthetic characteristics of I. cairica plants were measured after simulated herbivory by leaf trimming in three patterns: leaf-apex removal, leaf-edge removal, and perforation. The leaf-edge removal resulted in a significantly reduced total biomass and root biomass of the plants, but the leaf-apex removal and perforation had no significant influence on the plant growth. The defoliation patterns had significant effects on the photosynthesis of I. cairica. The net photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance of the plants whose leaf edges had been removed were the highest among the three defoliation patterns and the fraction of absorbed light that is used in Photosystem II photochemistry increased greatly, while the fraction of light energy that is dissipated thermally decreased. The increased photosynthetic rate as a result of the leaf-edge removal treatment could be attributed to a decrease in stomatal limitation and an increase in the Rubisco content, as well as higher photosynthetic efficiency and less light energy being dissipated as heat. Increased photosynthesis in the plants whose leaf edges had been removed changed the carbon allocation and resulted in less root development. As the expansion of I. cairica primarily depends on clonal growth, smaller roots could limit its uptake of nutrients from the soil. These direct and indirect effects indicate that leaf-edgefeeding herbivores could have potential in the biological control of I. cairica.

Applicability research of round tube CHF mechanistic model in rod bundle channel

        Liu, Wei,Peng, Shinian,Shan, Jianqiang,Jiang, Guangming,Liu, Yu,Deng, Jian,Hu, Ying Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.2

In view of the complex geometric structure of the rod bundle channel and the limitation of the current CHF visualization experiment technology, it is very difficult to obtain the rod bundle CHF mechanism directly through the phenomenon of the rod bundle CHF visualization experiment. In order to obtain the applicable CHF mechanism assumption for rod bundle channel, firstly, five most representative DNB type round tube CHF mechanistic models are obtained with evaluation and screening. Then these original round tube CHF mechanistic models based on inlet conditions are converted to local conditions and coupled with subchannel analysis code ATHAS. Based on 5 × 5 full-length rod bundle CHF experimental data independently developed by Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC), the applicability research of each model for CHF prediction performance in rod bundle channel is carried out, and the commonness and difference of each model are comparatively studied. The CHF mechanism assumption of superheated liquid layer depletion that is most likely to be applicable for the rod bundle channel is selected and two directions that need to be improved are given. This study provides a reference for the development of CHF mechanistic model in rod bundle channel.

Reduce on the cost of photovoltaic power generation for polycrystalline silicon solar cells by double printing of Ag/Cu front contact layer

        Zhuoyin Peng,Zhou Liu,Jianlin Chen,Lida Liao,Jian Chen,Cong Li,Wei Li 대한금속·재료학회 2018 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.14 No.6

With the development of photovoltaic industry, the cost of photovoltaic power generation has become the signifi cant issue. And the metallization process has decided the cost of original materials and photovoltaic effi ciency of the solar cells. Nowadays, double printing process has been introduced instead of one-step printing process for front contact of polycrystallinesilicon solar cells, which can eff ectively improve the photovoltaic conversion effi ciency of silicon solar cells. Here, therelative cheap Cu paste has replaced the expensive Ag paste to form Ag/Cu composite front contact of silicon solar cells. The photovoltaic performance and the cost of photovoltaic power generation have been investigated. With the optimizationon structure and height of Cu fi nger layer for Ag/Cu composite double-printed front contact, the silicon solar cells haveexhibited a photovoltaic conversion effi ciency of 18.41%, which has reduced 3.42 cent per Watt for the cost of photovoltaicpower generation.

Circular RNA cFAM210A, degradable by HBx, inhibits HCC tumorigenesis by suppressing YBX1 transactivation

        Yu Jian,Li Wen,Hou Guo-jun,Sun Da-peng,Yang Yuan,Yuan Sheng-xian,Dai Zhi-hui,Yin Hao-zan,Sun Shu-han,Huang Gang,Zhou Wei-ping,Yang Fu 생화학분자생물학회 2023 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.55 No.-

Hepatitis B protein x (HBx) has been reported to promote tumorigenesis in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the mechanism awaits further investigation. In this study, we found that cFAM210A (a circular RNA derived from the third exon of transcript NM_001098801 of the FAM210A gene; CircBase ID: hsa_circ_0003979) can be silenced by HBx. cFAM210A expression was downregulated and negatively correlated with tumorigenesis in patients with HBV-related HCC. Furthermore, cFAM210A reduced the proliferation, stemness, and tumorigenicity of HCC cells. Mechanistically, HBx increased the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) level of cFAM210A by promoting the expression of RBM15 (an m6A methyltransferase), thus inducing the degradation of cFAM210A via the YTHDF2-HRSP12-RNase P/MRP pathway. cFAM210A bound to YBX1 and inhibited its phosphorylation, suppressing its transactivation function toward MET. These findings suggest the important role of circular RNAs in HBx-induced hepatocarcinogenesis and identify cFAM210A a potential target in the prevention and treatment of HBV-related HCC.
