Dynamic softening behavior has been of great concern in the aluminum alloys, which served a vital role in affecting themicrostructure, deformation resistance and the final mechanical properties. In this paper, spray deposition was applied tomanufacture AlZnMgCu alloy to refine the casting microstructure and reduce segregation. The microstructure responses andcorresponding mechanism during the thermal compression with various temperatures and various strain rates were multiscalecharacterized and uncovered using high-resolution EBSD. The results revealed that many broken and fine grains wereobserved in the uneven and jagged grain boundaries under the low temperatures and high strain rates, which indicated theoccurrence of partial discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX). In addition, high density dislocations were formedat original grain boundaries, where great amount of low angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) were appeared. With temperatureincreased and strains rate decreased, the LAGBs would evolve to the high angle grain boundaries (HAGBs) owing to theconsiderable dislocations migrated to the grain boundaries then accumulated, which triggered the occurrence of continuousdynamic recrystallization (CDRX). Two different dynamic recrystallization types were observed and factors that influenceddifferent dynamic recrystallization behaviors were clearly elaborated, and the corresponding mechanism was indicateddetailly.

Muscle from mantle, fins and arms of squid (Dosidicus gigas) were compared based on lysyl oxidase activity (LOX), chemical/structural and thermodynamic properties of highly cross-linked collagen. The arms collagen presented the highest temperature (Tp) and enthalpy of transition. The arms collagen thermic properties may be explained by the higher imino amino acid content, proline and lysine hydroxylation degrees. Moreover, among the regions, the collagen from the arms had a more intense b band chain, hydroxymerodesmosine peak in the resonance magnetic nuclear spectra and pyridinoline peak in the Raman spectra. Fins showed the highest LOX activity. The LOX activity was associated with the Tp, proline and lysine hydroxylation degrees. These results implied that the collagen in the arms was more intermolecularly ordered than the mantle and fins, and may provide a theoretical basis for a better understanding of the thermal behaviour of squid tissues during management and processing.
Objective: To investigate the association between functional tumor burden of peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) derived from diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and overall survival in patients with advanced ovarian carcinoma (OC). Materials and Methods: This prospective study was approved by the local research ethics committee, and informed consent was obtained. Fifty patients (mean age ± standard deviation, 57 ± 12 years) with stage III–IV OC scheduled for primary or interval debulking surgery (IDS) were recruited between June 2016 and December 2021. DWI (b values: 0, 400, and 800 s/mm2) was acquired with a 16-channel phased-array torso coil. The functional PC burden on DWI was derived based on K-means clustering to discard fat, air, and normal tissue. A score similar to the surgical peritoneal cancer index was assigned to each abdominopelvic region, with additional scores assigned to the involvement of critical sites, denoted as the functional peritoneal cancer index (fPCI). The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of the largest lesion was calculated. Patients were dichotomized by immediate surgical outcome into high- and low-risk groups (with and without residual disease, respectively) with subsequent survival analysis using the Kaplan-Meier curve and log-rank test. Multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression was used to evaluate the association between DWI-derived results and overall survival. Results: Fifteen (30.0%) patients underwent primary debulking surgery, and 35 (70.0%) patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by IDS. Complete tumor debulking was achieved in 32 patients. Patients with residual disease after debulking surgery had reduced overall survival (p = 0.043). The fPCI/ADC was negatively associated with overall survival when accounted for clinicopathological information with a hazard ratio of 1.254 for high fPCI/ADC (95% confidence interval, 1.007–1.560; p = 0.043). Conclusion: A high DWI-derived functional tumor burden was associated with decreased overall survival in patients with advanced OC.
Chung, He-ja. 1999. Focalization Analysis of Locative Inversion in English and Korean. Linguists s, 7-1, 71-84. Inversion of major constituents can occur quite freely in English as well as in Korean within movement or base-generation framework. Contrary to Stowell (1981), Kim (1977), it is proposed here inversion is to be derived from focus movement for English and Korean. Following Miyagawa (1977), local IP-adjunction creates a site which can license the focus feature, guaranteeing movement of any major constituents. This is the case of locative inversion which is a result of IP-adjunction. (Iksan College)
Although the adoption of digital technology has gained considerable attention in higher education, currently research mainly focuses on implementation in formal learning contexts. Investigating what factors influence students’ digital informal learning is still unclear and limited. To understand better university students’ digital informal learning (DIL), this study proposed a model based on decomposed theory of planned behavior to investigate students’ behavioral intention to DIL. Different aspects of DIL behavior were further explored, through examining behaviors of cognitive learning, metacognitive learning, and social and motivation learning. This study also integrated digital competence as a new construct into the model, along with other variables to test the proposed model. A sample of 335 students selected from three universities in China took part in this study. The partial least square structural equation modeling was applied to analyze the data. The results provide support and better understanding for the importance of motivation factors such as digital competence and compatibility to explain students’ DIL.
This paper examines a scholar during the days when Neo-Confucianism from the Yuan Dynasty was first adopted late in the Goryeo Dynasty. People say that Neo-Confucianism was generally relevant to newly rising officials from the countryside, small and medium-sized landowners or "Kwago"(科擧), the highest level state examination to recruit ranking officials. When we pay attention to the different groups of people who studied Neo-Confucianism, however, we can see that classes from different backgrounds also studied Neo-Confucianism The people who accepted Neo-Confucianism in the last Goryeo Dynasty were from not only the rising class but also from existing powerful families or scholars who did not apply for "Kwago". In this paper I will focus on Choi Moon-doh (1292-1345) to consider one aspect of Neo-Confucianism. He served as "Soogwi"(宿衛), an official rank in the Yuan dynasty. Choi Moon-doh's family was a powerful family who had served as high officials, carrying on the family line. His father, Choi Sung-ji, who passed "Kwago", raised up to Chansungsa(贊成事) supporting the King C uingsun(忠宣王)and also played a great role in introducing the calendar of Yuan Dynasty. Choi Moon-doh was sent to Yuan to serve as Soogwi, but had been interested in Neo-Confucianism through studying the works of Ju Don-i(주돈신), Jung Ho(程顥), Jung Ei(정신) and Joo Hee(朱熹). After coming back to Goryeo, he was recognized as a scholar of Neo-Confucianism through interchange with Lee Jae-hyun(李齊腎), Choi Hae(崔瀣) and Lee Kok(李穀) who were prominent at that time. Also Uwi Moon-doh, who played an important part in the acceptance of Neo-Confucianism, stood at the head of popularizing the exercises of Neo-Confucianism by setting up the family shrine(家廟), and promoting the spread of Too-ho(投壺). The family shrine and Too-ho were continuously kept, even in the Chosun Dynasty, as a fundamental formality and amusement of the literati. In this paper, we may glance at the diversity of people who accepted Neo-Confucianism late in the Goryeo Dynasty through the activity of Choi Moon-doh and other scholar's consciousness on his view of Neo-Confucianism. In addition, it was revealed that Neo-Confucianism was not an exclusive possession of the new literati class but it was spread to a wide-range of classes in the process of cultural exchanges between Goryeo and Yuan. It is unfortunate however that it was not easy to reveal the level of his understanding of Neo-Confucianism owing to the lack of concrete historical material.
Irradiation-induced damage of binderless nanoporous-isotropic graphite (NPIG) prepared by isostatic pressing of mesophase carbon microspheres for molten salt reactor was investigated by 3.0 MeV He<sup>+</sup> irradiation at room temperature and high temperature of 600 ℃, and IG-110 was used as the comparation. SEM, TEM, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectrum are used to characterize the irradiation effect and the influence of temperature on graphite radiation damage. After irradiation at room temperature, the surface morphology is rougher, the increase of defect clusters makes atom flour bend, the layer spacing increases, and the catalytic graphitization phenomenon of NPIG is observed. However, the density of defects in high temperature environment decreases and other changes are not obvious. Mechanical properties also change due to changes in defects. In addition, SEM and Raman spectra of the cross section show that cracks appear in the depth range of the maximum irradiation dose, and the defect density increases with the increase of irradiation dose.
This paper is intended as an attempt to describe and explain the process by which a child becomes a member of his/her society and develops the expected pattern of behavior associated with a particular sex. Current important theoretical and empirical researches in the field of early sex-role socialization are cited and discussed. The authors refute the assumption that the root of sex-role differentiation goes down to the physical and physiological heritage of human organism, while they present sociological, psychological, and anthropological data to support the thesis that what is naturally masculine or feminine is not only inextricably linked to cultural convention but also largely determined by the socio-cultural demands inherent in a particular social structure. The first section reviews some rather diverse studies. Taking a close look at the sex differences in ability and achievement motivation, it points out that differences between the sexes in ability and in amount of motivation are not evident at birth and early age but emerge slowly as the child grows out of the relationship he/she makes with the various environments. Females' disabilities and underachievement in many areas do not have any innate, biological basis but are due to both social and cultural forces. The second section presents in outline form the most salient factors shaping females' roles within the social normative framework of Korean society. It is intended as an illustration of how sex-role differentiation is institutionalized. The traditional value patterns of Korean society are seen as preventing women from actively developing their potentials by confining feminine role within family life. Despite a seeming achievement of modern transformation the fundamental patterns of traditional family system so far remain a formidable obstacle to all attempts to innovate the structure of sex-role differentiation. The final section discusses the current situation of females in society and argues that the existing structure of sex-role differentiation net merely interrupts development and underutilizes the potential of half of population but dehumanizes females. Role-innovations going beyond the sex-role structure is urged as a humane gesture.
Abstract A Survey of Structural Analyses on English Intonation Lee, Sang-Do·Kim, He-Kyung Intonation is narrowly defined as the melody of speech in the papeer. One of the approaches on English intonation is structural analysis, which can be applied to teaching English as a foreign language. The structural approach aims at postulating intonation unit and intonation inventory to describe the form and meaning of intonation. The teaching of English intonation is often considered as a difficult task. Thompson(1995) argues that the average teacher is uncomfortable with intonation, treating it as a difficult subject and difficult to fomulate rules. As such it tends to receive little explicit focus in the classroom. In order to be helpful to teaching, intonation model, which is teachable, learnable, and simple, should be devised unlike the existing ones proposed by various specialists. To devise the model, structural analyses should be examined since they focus on the linguistic functions and meaning of intonation in English to choose the most appropriate analysis that capture general behaviors of intontion. This paper, thus, examines structural analyses on English Intonation. Structural analyses are divided into level and configuration approach. Level approach by Pike(1945). Trager/Smith(1957) and Prator/Robinett(1985) fails to capture general linguistic behaviors of intonation compared to other linguistic elements by proposing that the pitch contour are sequences of pitch phonemes. Configuration approach includes tune analysis, tone analysis, and tone-tune analysis. Tune approach by Armstrong/Ward(1931) prescribes two basic tones showing that pitch movement only plays a contrastive role. The approach unlike the level one shows the important role of pitch movement but also fails to show that the pitch pattern of pre-tonic which adds or modifies the whole meaning of the contour. Tone approach by Kingdon(1958) recognizes the role of pitch height and postulates kinetic and static tones. But it also prescribes pitch pattern of English intonation rather than describing. Tone-tune approach by O'Connor/Arnold(1972) and Hallway(1985) shows that the pitch contour has the internal structure. O'Connor/Arnold argues that the pitch contour consists of three optional elements and one obligatory element. Halliday(1985) argues that the pitch contour consists of one optional elements and one obligatory elements. By showing that the pitch pattern or so called INTONATION UNIT has the internal structure, the tone-tune approach captures generality of English intonation . Thus it can be concluded that the tone-tune approach can be employed to the field of Teaching English as a Foreign Langauge.
