        High School English Teachers' Classroom Assessment Practices in China and Korea

        Classroom assessment plays an essential role in language teaching and learning. However, there is no comparative research on English teachers’ classroom assessment practices in the EFL settings. Accordingly, the present study investigated English classroom assessment practices in China and Korea. A total of 766 high school teachers (524 from China vs. 242 from Korea) who participated in the study responded to the questionnaire that consists of four parts—assessment purposes, methods, and procedures, and background information of the participants—followed by open-ended questions. Conclusively, there was a trend of more differentiation than similarity in the classroom assessment practices between the two groups of teachers probably because of their different educational, political, and social environments. Detailed information about the results with discussion is provided.

        Mapping the Influence of Project Management on Project Cost

        This paper develops a framework to map the influence of Project Management (PM) attributes on project cost and then tests these relationships between PM attributes and project cost on industrial construction projects. PM attributes are identified and classified into five areas: Human Resource Management (HRM), function of PM, partnering and supply chain, design efficiency, and quality. The framework model is tested on survey data from member companies of the Construction Industry Institute (CII) using the Structural Equation Modeling method. The results reveal that quality, function of PM, and HRM can have a significant positive impact on project cost. Quality is found to have the most direct and greatest impact on project cost efficiency among PM attributes. The goal of this statistical study is to demonstrate the paths and strengths of the effects of PM attributes on project cost.

        콜라주(Collage) 기법을 이용한 웹디자인 연구

        웹디자인에 있어서 콜라주 기법의 적용은 시각적 질서와 직관성을 유지시켜 준다. 직관적인 웹디자인은 효율성을 창출하며 사용자를 배려하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 실용성과 기능성을 가장 우선해야 하며 심미성이 추가 된다면 효과적인 웹디자인이라 할 수 있다. 즉 기능에 충실하고 목적을 달성시키는데 주효하며 독창적이고 차별적인 요소가 포함되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 보다 효과적인 웹사이트 디자인을 위한 콜라주 기법의 적용에 관한 연구로 다양한 종류의 웹사이트를 제작하는데 황금비례나 루트비례를 적용하는 콜라주기법을 제안한다. 선택된 웹사이트 분석함에 있어서 사용자 입장에서 시각적 측면의 분석을 위조로 다루었지만 개발자 입장에서 좀 더 심도 있는 연구가 필요하리라 본다. 피상적인 웹사이트를 느끼기보다는 디자인 개념의 충실한 이해를 통하여 접근하면 더 심도 있는 분석을 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 외국의 디자인을 따라 하기에 급급한 현실을 극복할 수 있으며 나아가 트렌드를 제시할 수 있는 안목을 가지게 될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 콜라주 기법의 방법론을 분석함으로써 웹사이트 디자인을 연구함에 있어서 콜라주기법의 특성과 의미를 파악하고 이러한 특성을 바탕으로 실제사례들을 연구하고자 한다. Collage technique is a system which objectively and scientifically represents subjective and sensuous elements and modulates them. Application of collage techniques in web design maintains visual organization and intuition. Intuitive web design creates efficiency and is seen as considerative for users. Effective web design may have practicality and functionality at the basis with aesthetic aspects added to them. In other word web design should concentrate on its functions and purposes but also include the creative and differentiating elements. This study is about the application of collage techniques for more effective web-site design proposing a collage technique applied with golden ratio and root ratio by formulating various web sites. The analysis of the selected web sites has been done mainly on visual aspects from users' point of view and analysis from developers' point of view will be needed for a deeper study. If we attempt to web design not just superficially but with broad understanding of design concept deeper analysis is possible and can propose a new trend of web design rather than just following existing web design concepts. Therefore this study focuses on understanding the characteristics and meanings of collage techniques in web design by investigating methodology of collage techniques and based on this actual examples were researched.

      • Driving Factors on the Adoption of Low Carbon Production: Evidence from 265 Enterprises Managers in Jiangsu Province of China

        It’s the inevitably choice for enterprises to low carbon production, which is the important way to cope with the carbon limitation in the future and to gain competitiveness. Based on factor analysis, present paper developde low carbon production behavior questionnaire and investigated 265 enterprises managers in JiangsuProvince. Results of PLS test shows that: government policies, enterprise development, foreign trade have apparent effects on low carbon production behavior; the role of the public pressure to low carbon production behavior is not found. Through the driving factors analysis, present paper proposed some policy suggestions.

        Protein Binding Study of S-Ibuprofen Using High-Performance Frontal Analysis

        High-performance frontal analysis (HPFA) was used for the determination of the binding constant of Sibuprofen to human serum albumin (HSA). This experiment was based on an Inertsil 100 Diol 5 column and sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4 and ionic strength of 0.17) as the mobile phase. The mixture of S-ibuprofen and HSA (70 $\mu$M) solution were directly injected into the HPFA column. An injection volume of 200 $\mu$L and a “estricted injection”method were applied to ensure the drug to be eluted as a zonal peak with a plateau. The unbound drug concentration was calculated from the peak height of the zonal peak. Scatchard analysis was used for evaluation of the binding constant (K) and binding affinity (nK) of S-ibuprofen to HSA, and the results were K = 2.833 ${\times}$ 10$^4$ [L mol$^{-1}$], nK = 4.935 ${\times}$ 10$^4$ [L mol$^{-1}$], respectively.

        Proteolysis Characteristics of Sarcoplasmic, Myofibrillar, and Stromal Proteins Separated from Grass Carp and Antioxidant Properties of Their Hydrolysates

        Proteolysis of grass carp sarcoplasmic, myofibrillar,and stromal proteins by 5 commercial proteases were studied. Sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar protein could be well hydrolyzed by Alcalase 2.4 L to reach high protein recoveries (PR) (71.86±2.46 and 80.77±3.05%, respectively),while the maximum PR for stromal protein was only 42.83±2.84%. However, stromal hydrolysates, containing mostly 6-10 kDa fraction, exhibited higher ·OH scavenging activities due to its high content of antioxidant-assisting amino acids. Alcalase 2.4 L and pancreatin 6.0, which produced hydrolysates with relative high degree of hydrolysis (DH), were used for further hydrolysis of whole grass carp protein with the assistance of response surface methodology (RSM). The results showed that serine proteases (Alcalase 2.4 L and pancreatin 6.0) could produce sarcoplasmic, myofibrillar, or stromal hydrolysates with relatively high PR, DH, and strong ·OH scavenging activity, which may be used to prepare antioxidant hydrolysates from grass carp.

        Compact Mobile Quad-Band Slot Antenna Design for GPS L1, WiMAX, and WLAN Applications

        In this paper, an asymmetric compact multiband slot antenna is proposed for global positioning system (GPS), worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), and wireless area network (WLAN) applications. The top plane, a ground is composed of a rectangular slot with a trapezoidal-like stub, an inverted U-shaped slot at the right side of the rectangular slot, an inverted L-shaped slot at the left side of the rectangular slot, and three stubs. The proposed antenna is fed by an asymmetric cross-parasitic strip on the bottom plane. By properly designing the slots and stubs, four resonant frequency bands are achieved with -10 dB reflection coefficient bandwidths of 50 MHz, 400 MHz, 390 MHz, and 830 MHz in the 1.57 GHz GPS band, 2.4 GHz WLAN band, 3.5 GHz WiMAX band, and 5.5 GHz WLAN bands, respectively. The antenna has a total compact size of 13 mm × 32 mm × 0.8 mm. Simulated and measured results indicate that the proposed antenna has sufficient bandwidth and good radiation performance in each band.

        Prokaryotic expression and protein function of Brassica napus PGIP2 and its genetic transformation

        Sclerotinia rot is a fungal disease caused bySclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary, which has severelyreduced rapeseed production worldwide. Polygalacturonase-inhibiting proteins (PIGPs) inhibit theactivity of polygalacturonases, which are secreted duringfungal infection in plants. This study investigated thefunction of the polygalacturonase-inhibitor gene 2 (PGIP2)in sclerotinia rot resistance. The PGIP2 was successfullyexpressed in a prokaryotic system, and recombinant PGIP2protein, purified after enterokinase treatment to remove tagpeptide, inhibited S. sclerotiorum PG activity in vitro. PGIP2 was overexpressed in the susceptible Brassica napuscultivar 98c40 via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. After inoculation with S. sclerotiorum mycelia, thetransgenic rapeseed demonstrated greatly reduced leafdamage, as compared with their non-transgenic plants. Therefore, the PGIP2 encodes a functional protein andwould be a candidate gene for enhancing Sclerotinia rotresistance.

        An Integrated Evaluation Method for the Grouting Effect in Karst Areas

        Our proposed integrated evaluation method for the grouting effect in karst areas is based on the cloud model (CM), the analytic hierarchical process (AHP), and a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation system. Our method fully considers the fuzziness and randomness of the evaluation indices, and bridges the gap between qualitative information and a quantitative evaluation value. The evaluation index system for the grouting effect is established by integrating metrics related to the construction technology, apparent parameters, and observational data from inspection holes and geophysical exploration techniques. First, the weight of each index is calculated using the AHP, which has been modified by the CM. Then, we calculate the cloud model membership degree for each index. Finally, we determine the comprehensive evaluation level by examining the similarity measures between the various cloud models. In this case study, we use our integrated method to evaluate the initial results of the grouting treatment project in the China Resources Cement (Pingnan) Limestone Mine. Our results are validated by subsequent monitoring results for this project. This study provides valuable insight into the treatment of water inflow in karst areas.

        1950년대 후반 중국사회의 상황과 조선족 문학의 변화 -김학철을 중심으로

        1957년에 일어났던 반우파 투쟁은 중화인민공화국 역사에서 극히 관건적인 사건이다. 소련의 수정주의 정책과 헝가리에 대한 소련의 침공으로 인한 사회 불안을 잠재우기 위해 내세운 ‘쌍백방침(雙百方針)’이라는 구호는 1957년에 이르러 적극적으로 관철, 집행되었다. 당중앙의 이런 정신은 연변문단에도 받아들여져 실천되었으나 ‘쌍백방침’에 대한 이해에 오류를 범해 문단의 중견이 대거 숙청되는 결과를 낳았다. 반우파 투쟁시기 중국작가협회 연변분회는 설립 당시 회원 39명 중 19명이 우파로 몰린 바, 이처럼 높은 비율은 중국 전체에서 유일하였다. 연변문단에서 광범하게 진행되었던 반우파 투쟁은 합리적인 논쟁과 합법적인 절차에 따른 조치가 아니라 권력의 강력한 물리력을 배경으로 하였다. 이 시기 김학철을 비롯한 우파로 몰린 문인들과 이들을 우파로 몰아간 문인 및 기타 인사들이 남긴 문자 기록에서 연변에서의 반우파 투쟁 전개 과정 중에 보여준 여러 문인의 역사적 사실이 드러난다. 연변문단의 제1호 우파였던 최정연을 비롯해 김학철, 김순기, 김동구 등 우파 문인들의 비판받았던 작품들이나 발언 기록에서 반당, 반사회주의 적인 것은 거의 존재하지 않는다. 이들의 의견을 살펴보면 공산당의 정권을 전복하려는 주장이 아니라 당의 영도 방향을 개선하기 위한 귀중한 의견이었다. 그러나 그들은 우파라는 모자를 썼고, 비판과 투쟁으로 인하여 작가 생명의 황금기를 박탈당했다. 김학철, 최정연, 주선우, 서헌 등은 1950년대 연변문단의 우수한 문인들이며 최고의 지식분자들이었다. 1957년 그들이 숙청되자 연변문단에서는 공정성과 비판성을 지닌 지식인 공동체가 형성될 수 없어 그들 세대를 이어갈 후배를 발굴하고 역량을 키우는 데 실패했다. 그 결과, 연변문단은 오랜 기간 현실 대응력을 갖추고 진실을 추구하는 문학 전통이 사라지는 비극을 맞이하게 되었다. The anti-right struggle that took place in 1957 is a critical event in the history of the People’s Republic of China. In 1957, the slogan “Ssangbaek Policy” was actively implemented and implemented to alleviate social unrest caused by the Soviet revisionist policy and the Soviet invasion of Hungary. This spirit of the party’s center was also accepted and practiced in Yanbian, and at the peak of the anti-right struggle, the Yanbian munition faced a desolation of the literary center. The Yanbian paragraph made an error in understanding the ‘Ssangbaek Policy’, and when the Yanbian Branch of the Chinese Writers Association was established, 19 out of 39 members flocked to the right, and this high rate was unique in China as well. The widespread anti-right struggle in Yanbian was based on the physical power of power of the leadership, not rational debates and legal procedures. The literary records by those who were driven to the right at this time with Hakchul Kim as the center, those who drove them to the right, and other figures reveal the various forms and historical facts of the literary figures during the development of the anti-right struggle in Yanbian. There are hardly any anti-dang or anti-socialist works in the records or commentaries that have been criticized by many writers, including Jeongyeon Choi, the first right-wing member of the Yanbian section, and Hakchul Kim, Soonki Kim and Donggu Kim. All of them were unjustly accused of right-wing tendencies, and were deprived of the golden age of the writer’s life due to criticism and struggle. However, looking at their opinions, they were not claims to overthrow the communist party’s regime, but rather valuable opinions to improve the party’s leadership direction. Hakchul Kim, Jeongyeon Choi, Seonwoo Joo, and Heon Seo, who were driven to the right, were excellent literary men and the most well-regarded intellectuals of the Yanbian literature in the 1950s. However, after they were purged in 1957, since there could no longer be a community of intellectuals with fairness and criticism in Yanbian, they were unable to find successive juniors and develop their capabilities. As a result, for a long period of time, the literary tradition of responding to reality and pursuing the truth disappeared in Yanbian, leading to a tragedy in which the literary paragraph declined.
