Damage Mechanism of Drift Ice Impact

Gong, Li,Wang, Zhonghui,Li, Yaxian,Jin, Chunling,Wang, Jing Korea Information Processing Society 2019 Journal of information processing systems Vol.15 No.6

The ice damage occurs frequently in cold and dry region of western China in winter ice period and spring thaw period. In the drift ice condition, it is easy to form different extrusion force or impact force to damage tunnel lining, causing project failure. The failure project could not arrive the original planning and construction goal, giving rise to the water allocation pressure which influences diversion irrigation and farming production in spring. This study conducts the theoretical study on contact-impact algorithm of drift ices crashing diversion tunnel based on the symmetric penalty function in finite element theory. ANSYS/LS-DYNA is adopted as the platform to establish tunnel model and drift ice model. LS-DYNA SOLVER is used as the solver and LS-PREPOST is used to do post-processing, analyzing the damage degrees of drift ices on tunnel. Constructing physical model in the experiment to verify and reveal the impact damage mechanism of drift ices on diversion tunnel. The software simulation results and the experiment results show that tunnel lining surface will form varying degree deformation and failure when drift ices crash tunnel lining on different velocity, different plan size and different thickness of drift ice. The researches also show that there are damages of drift ice impact force on tunnel lining in the thawing period in cold and dry region. By long time water scouring, the tunnel lining surfaces are broken and falling off which breaks the strength and stability of the structure.

Transversal wideband bandpass filter with a wide stopband and multiple transmission zeros

Wang, Li-Tian,Xiong, Yang,Wang, Zhi-Peng,Gong, Li Electronics and Telecommunications Research Instit 2021 ETRI Journal Vol.43 No.1

Herein, we present a compact transversal bandpass filter (BPF) with an extremely wide upper stopband and multiple transmission zeros (TZ). Three signal transmission paths with shorted stubs and open-coupled lines allow signal transmission from input port to output port. Two resonant modes can be excited simultaneously and managed easily for bandpass response. Eleven TZs are achieved via transmission path cancelation; an extremely wide upper stopband with an attenuation level better than -12 dB is achieved up to 11.7 f0, where f0 is the center frequency (CF). In addition, bandwidth and CF can be controlled by adjusting electrical lengths. For proof of concept, a wideband BPF centered at 1.04 GHz with 3 dB fractional bandwidths of 49.2% was designed, fabricated, and evaluated. The overall circuit measures 0.045λg × 0.117λg; good agreement was observed between the measured and simulated results.

Comprehensive analysis of TCR repertoire of COVID-19 patients in different infected stage

        Wang Guangyu,Wang Yongsi,Jiang Shaofeng,Fan Wentao,Mo Chune,Gong Weiwei,Chen Hui,He Dan,Huang Jinqing,Ou Minglin,Hou Xianliang 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.7

Background: The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), transmitted person-to-person by the severe acute respiratory syndrome of coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), poses a threat to global public health. Objective: In this study, we performed the comprehensive analysis of the T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire may contribute to a more in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of COVID-19. Methods: A comprehensive immunological analysis was performed to explore the features of the TCR repertoire and identified TCR sequences correlated with SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens. Results: we analyzed the COVID-19 patients' TCR repertoires in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) which obtained before (baseline), during (acute), and after rehabilitation (convalescent) by ImmunoSEQ-technology, and found that repertoire features of TCRβ-chain (TCRβ) complementary-determining region 3 (CDR3) in COVID-19 patients were remarkable difference, including decreased TCR diversity, abnormal CDR3 length, difference of TRBV/J gene usage and higher TCR sequence overlap. Besides, we identified some COVID-19 disease-associated TCRβ clones, and the abundance of them changed with the progression of the disease. Importantly, these disease-associated TCRβ clones could be used to distinguish COVID-19 patients from healthy controls with high accuracy. Conclusions: We provide a clear understanding of the TCR repertoire of COVID-19 patients, which lays the foundation for better diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Nuciferine modulates the gut microbiota and prevents obesity in high-fat diet-fed rats

        Wang Yueping,Yao Weifan,Li Bo,Qian Shiyun,Wei Binbin,Gong Shiqiang,Wang Jing,Liu Mingyan,Wei Minjie 생화학분자생물학회 2020 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.52 No.-

Gut microbiota dysbiosis has a significant role in the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases, including obesity. Nuciferine (NUC) is a main bioactive component in the lotus leaf that has been used as food in China since ancient times. Here, we examined whether the anti-obesity effects of NUC are related to modulations in the gut microbiota. Using an obese rat model fed a HFD for 8 weeks, we show that NUC supplementation of HFD rats prevents weight gain, reduces fat accumulation, and ameliorates lipid metabolic disorders. Furthermore, 16S rRNA gene sequencing of the fecal microbiota suggested that NUC changed the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota in HFD-fed rats. In particular, NUC decreased the ratio of the phyla Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes, the relative abundance of the LPS-producing genus Desulfovibrio and bacteria involved in lipid metabolism, whereas it increased the relative abundance of SCFA-producing bacteria in HFD-fed rats. Predicted functional analysis of microbial communities showed that NUC modified genes involved in LPS biosynthesis and lipid metabolism. In addition, serum metabolomics analysis revealed that NUC effectively improved HFD-induced disorders of endogenous metabolism, especially lipid metabolism. Notably, NUC promoted SCFA production and enhanced intestinal integrity, leading to lower blood endotoxemia to reduce inflammation in HFD-fed rats. Together, the anti-obesity effects of NUC may be related to modulations in the composition and potential function of gut microbiota, improvement in intestinal barrier integrity and prevention of chronic low-grade inflammation. This research may provide support for the application of NUC in the prevention and treatment of obesity.

Influence of residual stress on the adhesive behavior of detonation gun sprayed WC-Co coatings

        Wang, T.G.,Liu, Y.,Wang, Q.,Gong, J.,Sun, C.,Kim, K.H. Elsevier 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.suppl2

The residual stresses generated during D-Gun spraying process act as pre-existing stresses and seriously affect the various types of coating performance. To produce a reliable coating, it is necessary to know the influence of residual stress on the adhesive behavior of coating/substrate system. Based on the residual stress formula for thick coatings and accurate curvature measurements, the residual stresses of D-Gun sprayed WC-Co coatings were obtained. And a strong link was built between the residual stress and the adhesive strength of the coating, namely, the compressive stress in the coating could significantly improve the adhesion, whereas the tensile stress weakened the adhesion. The larger compressive residual stress is in the coating, the stronger adhesion between the coating and substrate.

LncRNA DANCR and miR-320a suppressed osteogenic differentiation in osteoporosis by directly inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway

Wang Cheng-Gong,Hu Yi-He,Su Shi-Long,Zhong Da 생화학분자생물학회 2020 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.52 No.-

Our study aimed to determine how lncRNA DANCR, miR-320a, and CTNNB1 interact with each other and regulate osteogenic differentiation in osteoporosis. qRT-PCR and western blotting were performed to determine the expression of DANCR, miR-320a, CTNNB1, and the osteoporosis- or Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related markers T-cell factor 1 (TCF-1), runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), osteocalcin (OCN), and osteopontin (OPN). Interactions between CTNNB1, DANCR, and miR-320a were predicted by bioinformatics approaches and validated using a luciferase assay. Osteoblastic phenotypes were evaluated by ALP staining, ALP activity assay and Alizarin Red staining. The bilateral ovariectomy method was used to establish an in vivo osteoporosis model. Bone morphological changes were examined using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Alcian Blue staining. The expression levels of DANCR and miR-320a in BMSCs derived from osteoporosis patients were upregulated, whereas CTNNB1 expression was downregulated compared with that in healthy controls. Importantly, we demonstrated that miR-320a and DANCR acted independently from each other and both inhibited CTNNB1 expression, whereas the inhibitory effect was additive when miR-320a and DANCR were cooverexpressed. Moreover, we found that DANCR overexpression largely abrogated the effect of the miR-320a inhibitor on CTNNB1 expression and the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in BMSCs during osteogenic differentiation. We further confirmed the results above in BMSCs derived from an osteoporosis animal model. Taken together, our findings revealed that DANCR and miR-320a regulated the Wnt/ β-catenin signaling pathway during osteogenic differentiation in osteoporosis through CTNNB1 inhibition. Our results highlight the potential value of DANCR and miR-320a as promising therapeutic targets for osteoporosis treatment.

Synthesis of metal organic framework (MOF-5) with high selectivity for CO2/N2 separation in flue gas by maximum water concentration approach

        Gong-Ying Wang,Zhiyong Deng,Ning Jiang,Shaoying Liu,Cong-Ming Tang 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.9

Water plays a crucial role in the synthesis mechanism of metal organic framework-5 (MOF-5). Synthesized MOF-5 with good phase structure and large specific surface area is largely determined by an important synthesis factor: the total water concentration of the initial synthesis solution (Ctw). An understanding of the effects of different and high Ctw on the synthesis of MOF-5 and the investigation of the maximum Ctw suitable for the synthesis of MOF-5 are important to guide the synthesis of MOF-5. Through the research of the maximum Ctw, a favorable synthetic approach was established which could realize the synthesis of MOF-5 with fine performance on CO2 adsorption and separation. The research results show that the maximum Ctw could be as high as 1,440mmol/L, and synthesized MOF- 5 still has a good phase structure and a large specific surface area of 2,136m2/g (BET). Synthesized MOF-5 by the maximum Ctw exhibits a high CO2 adsorption capacity of 2.5mmol/g and a low N2 adsorption capacity of 0.2mmol/g at 298 K and 100 kPa. More importantly, synthesized MOF-5 by the maximum Ctw exhibits a high selectivity for CO2/N2 of 18-22 at 298 K and 20-130 kPa in simulated flue gas.

Fast-convergence trilinear decomposition algorithm for angle and range estimation in FDA-MIMO radar

        Wang, Cheng,Zheng, Wang,Li, Jianfeng,Gong, Pan,Li, Zheng Electronics and Telecommunications Research Instit 2021 ETRI Journal Vol.43 No.1

A frequency diverse array (FDA) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar employs a small frequency increment across transmit elements to produce an angle-range-dependent beampattern for target angle and range detection. The joint angle and range estimation problem is a trilinear model. The traditional trilinear alternating least square (TALS) algorithm involves high computational load due to excessive iterations. We propose a fast-convergence trilinear decomposition (FC-TD) algorithm to jointly estimate FDA-MIMO radar target angle and range. We first use a propagator method to obtain coarse angle and range estimates in the data domain. Next, the coarse estimates are used as initialized parameters instead of the traditional TALS algorithm random initialization to reduce iterations and accelerate convergence. Finally, fine angle and range estimates are derived and automatically paired. Compared to the traditional TALS algorithm, the proposed FC-TD algorithm has lower computational complexity with no estimation performance degradation. Moreover, Cramer-Rao bounds are presented and simulation results are provided to validate the proposed FC-TD algorithm effectiveness.
