        The Ameliorative Effects of Korean Bean‐Leaves on Inflammation and Liver Injury in Obese Rat Model

        Obesity may cause metabolic syndrome and adult diseases. This study was undertaken to investigate the ameliorative or useful effects of beanleaves on inflammation and liver damage in obese rat models. Rats were divided into three groups: a control group (normal diet, n=6), a fat diet group (45%?fat diet, n=7), and a bean leaf group (45%?fat+Korean bean leaves diet, n=7). Body weights in the bean leaf group were lower than those of the fat group (P<0.05). Serum tumor necrosis factor?α (TNF?α) and prostaglandin E₂ (PGE₂) concentrations were lower in both the control and bean leaf groups than in the fat group (P<0.001). TNF?α concentrations in the bean leaf group were slightly higher than in the control group but statistically significant (P<0.05). The bean leaf group histologically exhibited lower fatty degeneration, spotty necrosis, and leukocyte infiltrations in hepatic tissues than those of the fat group. In the homogenized liver tissues, the cyclooxygenase?2 (COX?2) gene was only expressed in the fat group. The gene expression levels of hepatic TNF?α, inducible nitric?oxide synthase, peroxiome proliferator?activated receptor?α (PPAR?α), poly (ADP?ribose) polymerase (PARP), and transforming growth factor?β1 (TGF?β1) were weaker in the bean leaf group than in the fat group. These results suggest that adding bean?leaves to the diet may ameliorate obesity?induced systemic inflammation and liver damage and that bean leaves may be a useful food for preventing obesity and thereby metabolic syndrome and adult diseases

      • 자동문을 위한 무선 안전 장치 시스템 및 중앙 통제 소프트웨어 개발

        본 논문에서 고급형 실내 자동문의 설계 및 제작한다. 실내에서 사용되는 특성에 따라 소음이 최소화되어야 하며 미세한 물건이나 어린이의 작은 신체 일부가 자동문에 끼이는 안전사고를 방지하기 위한 안전장치가 필수적이다. 따라서 본 시스템은 IrDA의 적외선 방식과 용량성 센서를 이용한 안전 장치 시스템을 설계하고 자동문을 가정용 컴퓨터를 이용하여 직접제어 하거나 외부에서 이더넷(Ethernet)으로 접속하여 제어 및 표시할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발한다. 또한 지능형 빌딩과 같이 다수의 자동창문을 화재, 강제 환기 및 기타 관리를 위한 중앙 통제 관리 시스템으로 확장된 중앙 통제 소프트웨어를 개발을 하였다. In this paper, the automatic door for indoor use is designed and developed. Since the door is used indoor, the noise should be minimized and the accident that can happen by small object and childrens fingers strapped by the door would be prevented. Thus, Safety module by using infrared is designed and the program that controls the door using ethernet is also developed. For the use of the large intelligent building, the program that can control the multiple doors is also developed.

      • SSMA 시퀀스와 케이오틱 시퀀스의 상관 특성 비교 연구

        직접 스펙트럼 확산 통신 시스템에서는 의사 잡음 시퀀스(PN Sequence)가 일반적으로 사용된다. 그러나 의사 잡음 시퀀스 혹은 m 시퀀스의 갯수는 한정되어 있다. 또한 주기가 2ⁿ-1로서 항상 홀수로 주어지므로 시스템 동기에 부적합한 경우가 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 확장 m 시퀀스(Extended m sequence)는 의사 잡음 시퀀스의 길이를 하나 더 증가시켜 2ⁿ으로 만들어진다. 임의의 길이를 가지는 무한히 많은 시퀀스를 생성할 수 있는 캐이오틱(Chaotic) 시퀀스 또한 스펙트럼 확산 통신 시스템에서 사용 가능성을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 사용되는 의사 잡음 시퀀스를 확산 m-시퀀스, 가자미(Kasami) 시퀀스, 골드(Gold) 시퀀스 및 캐이오틱 시퀀스의 상관 특성과 비교 분석하였다.

      • 급성 출혈성 대장염으로 오인된 궤양성 대장염 1예

        Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that affects the large bowel, Its etiology remains controversial. However, an infectious or immunologic origin is considered the primary cause. The onset of UC is typically slow and insidious, but some patients may present acutely with symptoms mimicking infectious colitis. We report a case of ulcerative colitis mimicking acute hemorrhagic colitis at initial presentation. A 60-year-old man was referred to Yeungnam University Hospital for bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain. Sigmoidoscopy revealed mildly edematous mucosa in the rectum and hyperemic mucosa with petechiae in the sigmoid colon. The patient was treated with antibiotics for several days, and his symptoms improved. However, after one month, his bloody diarrhea relapsed. Follow-up sigmoidoscopy revealed mucosal friability in the rectum and sigmoid colon. He was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and his symptoms were improved with mesalazine and a steroid enema.

      • 잡음환경에서의 음성인식

        In this thesis, problems connected with present speech recognition systems are pointed out and methods for performance improvement are proposed. Especially, a recognition system for use in a car noise environment is proposed and estimated. A speech recognition system comprises feature extraction, distance measure and pattern classification methods. Recently, weighted cepstral distance measures using LPC-cepstral coefficients as feature vectors have given high recognition rates, with HMM and DTW are widely used for pattern classification. But speech recognition rates drop rapidly in a noisy environment. To improve recognition accuracy in noise, an endpoint detection method which takes noise into account, a modified DTW, an autocorrelation subtraction method and a distance measure robust to noise are used to give improved speaker dependent isolated word recognition performance.

      • CDMA 셀룰러 시스템의 하드핸드오프 성능 개선에 관한 연구

        In this paper, the improvement of hard handoff for cellular CDMA system is studied. In order to improve the performance of the hard handoff, a new algorithm for hard handoff to increase time diversity is proposed and field tested. It is shown that the proposed algorithm achieves 90% of successful handoff rate while the conventional method of hard handoff with 40% successful handoff rate.

      • 적응 알고리즘을 이용한 DS/CDMA 간섭제거

        A DS/CDMA receiver with adaptive filter has more benefit than conventional DS receiver, such as near-far problem, multiuser interference rejection and artificial jamming. Usually in the CDMA receiver, filter length is same as spreading sequence length. So the more PN sequence length, the more number of calculation is needed for convergence. Recently, partial update algorithm like SNLMS or SBNLMS is proposed to resolve this problem. But these algorithms have defect that convergence is slow because of partial updating. We propose the effective adaptive algorithm for DS/CDMA multiuser interference rejection and show the correlation between the number of block and convergence in selective coefficient update algorithm.

      • 카아네이션 잎마름병 (Alternaria dianthi Stevens & Hall)의 발생에 관하여

        The study has been carried to examine a new disease of carnation caused by Alternaria isolate, which was found in Gim Hae, Gyoungnam province and the suburbs of Busan City, recently. 1. The pathogen was identified as Alternaria dianthi Stevens & Hall which has not been described in Korea. The common name of the disease was given as IB Ma Reum Byung(carnation blight). 2. Morphological studies of the fungus have shown a wide variation in shape, size and septation of conidia. The size of conidia formed on carnation leaf lesions in field is 22.8-101.2μ(av. 60.4μ)×10.1-27.8μ(av. 18.6μ), which was larger than those on potato dextrose agar in vitro. 3. Of 13 carnation varieties tested, Boston, Linda and Red Alaska were highly susceptible, and Angel, Flamingo Sim, William Sim and Yo Soo were moderately susceptible whereas Brauns Yollw Sim, Colquate, Imp Sisney Little Field, Cardinal Sim, La Reve Salmon Sim and Safari were slightly susceptible to the fungus under the condition of artificial infection.

        The system designed in this paper, can mark the interior state of greenhouse using sensors of temperature, humidity and illumination on greenhouse interior by greenhouse system for farm village area's agriculture automation. And, the real time monitor is possible real time monitoring by camera. Also, system that can supply water using spring cooler system and humidifier. The proposed system can sustain a designed environment of the greenhouse through rentilation fan, fluorescent light and roof door control. TCP/IP is used for the remote control of state the sensors in the client program. 본 논문에서 설계된 시스템은 농촌 지역의 농업 자동화를 위한 온실 시스템으로 온실 내부에 온도, 습도, 조도 센서를 이용한 온실 내부의 상태를 표시할 수 있으며 카메라를 이용하여 실시간 관측이 가능하다. 또한 본 시스템은 지붕 개폐, 스프링 쿨러와 가습기를 이용한 수분 공급, 환풍기, 형광등 등을 통하여 온실 내부의 환경을 유지시킬 수 있다. 모든 센서를 이용한 상태와 온실 제어를 TCP/IP를 이용한 클라이언트 프로그램에서 원격으로 관리할 수 있다.
