최근 폭증하는 모바일 데이터 트래픽을 수용하기 위하여 밀리미터파 (mmWave)가 큰 관심을 받고 있으며, 4 세대 LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) 표준을 기반으로 MMB (Millimeter Mobile Broadband) 시스템의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 현재 mmWave 통신 채널에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있으며, MMB 채널 환경에 대한 성능 분석 또한 관심의 대상이다. 본 논문에서는 5세대 이동통신을 위한 MMB 시스템을 설계하고 mmWave의 전파 특성 분석을 통한 채널 모델을 제안한다. 또한 MMB 시스템의 28 GHz 대역에서 MMB 채널 환경에 대한 성능을 비교 분석한다. Millimeter wave (mmWave) has attracted great interest recently and the necessity of Millimeter Mobile Broadband (MMB) system has appeared based on the 4 Generation Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) Specification. Currently, there are many studies about the mmWave communication channel. And it is subject of interest to analyze the performance in MMB channel environments. In this paper, we design the MMB system for 5th Generation mobile communication and propose channel models through the analysis of the mmWave propagation characteristics. Also, we have analyzed the performance of the MMB system of 28 GHz band in MMB channel environments.
A new definition of violation based on accident/failure analyses in nuclear power plants

The objective of this study is to define a violation, a type of human errors, based on a case study in nuclear power plants. Accidents in nuclear power plants are rare-accident of large, complex and high-reliability systems. Since the damage of an accident could be extremely enormous, many efforts have been underway to prevent the human errors. Especially, the violation is a newly emerging type of human errors but its concept is not clearly defined in the nuclear industry. A total of 28 reports related to the human error accidents/failures in the last 10 years were collected from NEED (Nuclear Event Evaluation Database) in KINS-OPIS (Operational Performance Information System). The relationship between causal factors and violations were analyzed by the fault tree analysis (FTA) and the human related event root cause analysis method (HuRAM). As a result, the characteristics of violations were identified and four types of violations (routine, situational, avoidance and optimizing violations) were newly defined. The results of this study can be used to develop proactive countermeasures and implement a supervisory system for preventing violations.
Ideation Framework for Sensor based Context-Aware Wearable Device Design

Objective: In this study, we proposed ideation framework for new wearable device products and service by combinations of several important factors related to wearable device. Background: The market of wearable devices has gradually increased and customer needs for new products and service from wearable device have also increased. Method: We developed a systematic framework to generate a competitive idea. First of all, three factors were extracted: user context, possible functions of the wearable device, and the recognition sensor technology. Final ideas can be extracted by two combination steps: step 1. Scenario development and evaluation, step 2. Idea development and evaluation. Discussion: The iterative process of development and evaluation can help to extract the competitive idea from the broad scope of wearable device and its applications.
