A successful operation of a biological wastewater plant depends on several factors : flow, influent Biochemical Oxygen Demend(BOD) or Chemical Oxygen Demend(COD), influent Suspended Solids(SS), wastewater temperature, Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids(MLSS), and Food to Microorganism ratio(F/M), etc. A Biodegrability test of industrial wastewater was performed and results of the research are as follows : 1. Test data are summarized in table 1. 2. Metabolism Factor(KM) was calculated to be 0.786∼1.34(/hr) at aeration tank. 3. Treatment of industrial wastewater to aeration tank with detention time of 6 to 12 hours. F/M ratio 0.1∼0.4㎏ BOD/㎏ MLSS-day gave TCODcr removal efficiency of 86.5∼89.6%, TBOD removal efficiency of 81.4∼91.9%, and TSS removal efficiency of 66.4∼79.8%. The maximum organic removal occured at a detention 12 hours.

Somatic mutagenicity of alkylating agents in Drosophila melanogaster was investigated by comparing the sensitivity of the repair-proficient strain and the repair-deficient strain to somatic gene mutations after larval treatment with MMS and EMS. For the repair-deficient strain, the excisionless mus(2) 201 mutant was used. In the present study, it was found that not only the repair-proficient but also the repair-deficient uz system showed positive response to the mutagenicity of EMS or MMS. The repair-deficient strain was more or less sensitive to mutagenicity of MMS than the repair-proficient strain and showed the same sensitivity as the repair-proficient strain to EMS. The yield of mutation induced by MMS and EMS reached a maximum of 31 fold and 73 fold more than that of the spontaneous, respectively. These facts suggested that EMS seem to be more mutagenic than MMS. In comparison of sensitivity of the excision repair-deficient uz and w^i systems to MMS or EMS, the repair-deficient uz system was more sensitive than the repair-deficient w^i system to MMS and EMS. These results also suggested that uz system might be more sensitive assaying system than w^i system.

목이은 세계적으로 널리 분포되어 있는 버섯으로 한국, 중국, 일본 등지에서 많이 발생되고 있는 버섯이다. 섬유소 함량이 높고 교질상 물질이 많아 식용으로 사용하면 식도 및 위장을 씻어내는 특수한 작용을 한다. 본 연구는 목이버섯의 안정생산을 위한 균사의 배양적 특성 및 톱밥배지를 이용한 자실체 형성 조건을 규명 하였다. 목이의 균주는 산림조합중앙회 산림버섯연구센터에서 수집‧보관중인 10개를 이용하였으며 접종원은 PDA배지에 10일간 계대배양하면서 사용하였다. 목이 균사생육에 접합한 배지는 MYA배지로 조사되었으며 적합한 온도는 30°C로 나타났다. 영양원 선발로 탄소원은 Fructose와 Malt extract에서 질소원은 Soybean flour 와 Yeast extract에서 균사의 생장 및 밀도가 높게 나타났다. 자실체 생산을 위하여 10개의 균주를 1.3㎏ 톱밥 배지에 접종하여 60일간 배양 후 발생을 진행하였다. 균주별로 생산성 및 특성이 차이가 있었으며 재배사 형 태에서는 1중하우스에서 회수율 및 품질이 우수하게 나타났다.

A laboratory experiment was conducted in order to determine the settling characteristics of industrial wastewater by using settling column. The results of the experiment are summarized as follows; 1. Sampled wastewater were tested with the concentration of 10 items for Industrial wastewater. The tested results were summerized in Table 2,3. 2. Industrial wastes achieves removal of 50 to 60 % of the suspended solids at a retention of 80min, and, corresponding to this, a removal of the BOD of 25 to 30%. 3. Plotting the SS removal versus overflow rate and time is shown in Figs. 6 and 7.
