국내 소비재 기업의 지속 가능한 플라스틱 경영 전략 평가를 위한 지표 개발

Growing stringent global regulations in Korea poses a threat to corporate sustainability. Companies must respond strategically to navigate these regulations and avoid greenwashing. Objective of this research was to analyze how Korean companies are responding to the global trend of reducing plastic use and propose improved management strategies. Seven indicators were developed to assess companies' post-plastic strategies and applied to analyze the sustainability reports of Amore Pacific and LG Household & HealthCare. These indicators included, 1) disclosure of plastic raw materials used by weight or volume, 2) disclosure of recycled plastic raw materials used by weight or volume, 3) disclosure of waste recycling, reuse amounts, and disposal using waste treatment method 4) strategies to reduce environmental impact of plastics, 5) plastic packaging, reduce, recycle, reuse, and composting (in the real environment), 6) plastic management roadmap for the circular economy, and 7) education for sustainable plastic management. Based on the review of considered companies, we propose in-listed sustainable plastics management strategies: disclosing the ratio of plastic raw materials and recycled raw materials for all products, considering recycling rate throughout the product value chain, and not only for the production phase, reviewing carbon dioxide emissions based on life cycle assessment rather than reducing plastic consumption, studying the biodegradability of biodegradable plastics in natural environment such as soil, considering the consumer's perspective.
공연시설의 사용자 동선에 따른 공간의 기능별 연계에 관한 기초적 연구

In general, performing facilities consist of various functional groupings. The functional groupings should be arranged, in relation to each other, depending on the circulation of users in a space. The performing culture in Korea has been rapidly progressed in recent years. However, compared to the superior examples of foreign performing facilities, it still needs improvements and systematic research. In this study, the functional groupings of general performing facilities as well as the circulation patterns of users will be analyzed and planning the arrangement of the space that considers a user's circulation. From the results of this study, a circulation system for each spatial composition will be suggested for the performing facilities to be constructed in the future.

Recently, ex-situ remediation technologies has been emerging to clean up contaminated soils mainly because the in-situ techniques have limited applicability and technical difficulties in relatively small contaminated sites. Accordingly, implementation of off-site treatment and disposal have been continuously increased in soil remediation and restoration projects in Korea. However, in many cases, reclaimed soil is still not properly recycled or reused. Therefore, there is an urgent need to document the current status of soil management practices in soil remediation projects in the nation. This study presents a survey of soil contamination status and remedial approaches in Korea based on soil cleanup projects completed in 2015 - 2019, and proposes the possible options of the recycling or reusing the reclaimed soils under compliance with related regulations. The results of the soil survey showed soil contamination was most severe in gas stations, industrial facilities, and military areas. The major types of pollution were related to the petroleum-contaminated site (TPH and BTEX) with 77.0% occurrence in all the contaminated sites. The reclaimed soils were mostly reused as a ground filling-up soils in industrial facilities (60.0%) and warehouses (37.0%).

This study examined the possibility of reutilization of soil reclaimed from contaminated sites after completing remediation. The current status of soil remediation methods in Korea was reviewed and physicochemical properties of soil before and after remediation processes were examined to access the recycling possibility of reclaimed soils based on Recycling Aggregate Quality Standard. The most commonly practiced soil remediation techniques are soil washing, land farming, and thermal desorption. These techniques tend to deteriorate various soil properties including electrical conductivity(EC), organic matter content(OM), available P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>, and cation exchange capacity(CEC). Evaluation of the properties of soil retrieved after each remediation process indicated soil washing may yield the most suitable soil for use as a filling, covering, back-filling, road pavement, and blocking materials, In addition, the soils reclaimed from land farming and thermal desorption have potential utility as a filling, covering and road pavement materials.
IoT 활용 광물찌꺼기 적치장 모니터링 시스템 적용성 평가

In this study, a real-time monitoring system using IoT technology was established in a tailings dam of the Okdong mine, and the structural variation of the retaining wall structure and the leachate flow rate from the dam were examined to evaluate the field applicability of the measuring equipment. The slope of the structure’s inclinometer showed change of both the X-axis and Y-axis inclination with the change of seasons and temperature. This might have been due to slight change caused by shrinkage and expansion of the structure length, resulting in variation of those angles. Variations in the flow rate of leachate from the dam resulted from increased precipitation amounts in the rainy season and decreased amounts in the dry season, although leachate was flowing out continuously. In the future, both the establishment of forecast and alarm grade systems and the installation of additional measuring devices along with the data accumulated from them will enable optimal safety management in tailings dam sites. 이 연구에서는 옥동광산 광물찌꺼기 적치장을 대상으로 IoT 기술을 활용한 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 구축하고 옹벽 구조물 변화 및 침출수 유출량 등을 확인하여 계측기기의 현장 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. 구조물 경사계의각도 변화는 계절 및 온도 변화에 따라 X축, Y축 경사가 모두 변화를 보였다. 이는 수축·팽창에 의해 구조물 길이가미세하게 변화되는 것으로 그에 따라 각도가 변화하고 있다. 침출수의 유량변화는 강우에 따라 증감하고 있으며, 건기에도 침출수가 지속적으로 유출되고 있어 관리가 필요한 실정이다. 향후 추가 계측기기 설치 및 계측기기별 축적된데이터를 활용하여 예보·경보등급 설정 등을 마련하면 최적의 적치장 안전관리를 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
폐금속광산 주변 오염 농경지에서 비소의 안정화 효율 평가

This study has evaluated the stabilization of As contaminated paddy and cultivated soils by pot experiments for rice andlettuce. Various ratios of limestone (L) and steel slag (S) were mixed with the soils in each pot. The soils were taken frombefore and after pot experiments, and analyzed for As extracted by sequentially (Wenzel method) and totally (aqua regiamethod).. Paddy soils amended with L (0.5%) and L (1.0%) + S (1.0%) showed increasing fraction 2 (specifically boundAs) compared with control soil. Arsenic concentrations in rice grain grown on the amended soils decreased 14% and 12%compared with those on the control soil, respectively. According to sequential extraction of As in cultivated soils, thefractions 1~3 were decreased due to stabilization of As by the soil amendment, especially for S (1.0%), S (3.0%) and L(1.0%) + S (1.0%). In addition, relatively low As concentrations were found in lettuce grown on amended soils with L(0.5%) and L (1.0%) + S (1.0%). Therefore, it can be suggested that soil amendments with L (0.5%) or L (1.0%) + S (1.0%)were suitable for enhancing stabilization of As in the study area.
