박물관 건축공간에서의 비판적 지역주의의 표현특성과 디자인방법에 관한 연구

In recent years, local governments are interested in constructing museums of various scales in relationship to unique factors of each region regarding their positive effects on tourist industry. However, many museums have failed to reflect regional characteristics resulting uniformed, uninteresting museum architectures. This study analyzes museum architectures designed by Ando Dadao, Antoine Predock's, Charles Correa, Carlo Scarpa, and Ricardo Legorrata based on 7 criterias of Kenneth Prampton's critical regionalism theory which are natural environment, materials, light, weather, unique culture, and history. It is hoped that this study may serve as a stepping stone towards designing museums that reflect distinctive regional identities.
간경변증 환자에서 체내 나트륨 대사변화와 그 기전에 대한 연구

N/A This prospective study was performed to evaluate the concentration of the serum sodium and its pathogenesis in 16 patients of liver cirrhosis without ascites and 8 patients with ascites who were admitted to Hanyang University Hospital from November 1992 to January 1993. In order to evaluate the pathogenesis of the hyponatremia, we measured the level of serum sodium, serum albumin, serum creatinine, creatinine clearance, 24 hour urinary sodium excre- tion, plasma renin activity(PRA), aldosterone and sympathetic activity in cirrhotic patients without ascites(Group I, n=16) and with ascites(Group II, n=8). Serum Na level and ex cretion of Na in 24 hour urine were decreased significantly in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis(liver cirrhosis with ascites)(P=0.006). And the frequency of patients with hyponatrernia was high in liver cirrhosis with ascites(Group I:13%, Group II: 50% ). The serum albumin and creatinine clearance were significantly decreased in liver cirrhosis with as- cites(P=0.000, P=0.012). The PRA and serum norepinephrine were also significantly in- creased in liver cirrhosis with ascites(P=0.000, P=0.018). During hospital 10 days, the serum sodium concentration was significantly more decreased(P = 0.04, 136 + 1.9mEq/1132+ 2.6mEq/ 1) with significant weight loss and decreased creatinine clearance in liver cirrhosis with asci- tes. The serum concentration of sodium showed positive correlation with serum albumin(R=O. 6, P=0.004) and negative correlation with PRA(R=0.7, P=0.001) in all patients with liver cirrhosis. These findings indicate that the hyponatremia in liver cirrhosis is associated with de- creased creatinine clearance and disturbance of frea water excretion due to hypoalbuminemia, decreased effective circulatory volume, increased PRA and increased sympathetic activity. 한국인 두경부암 환자에서 CYP1A1 및 GSTM1 유전자 다형성 분석에 의한 유전적 감수성에 대한 연구

Genetic polymorphisms of metabolizing enzymes to chemical carcinogens have been recognized as a major important host factors in human cancers. To determine the frequencies of genotypes of CYP1A1 and GSTM1 metabolizing enzymes in healthy controls and head and neck cancer patients in Korean and to identify the relative high risk genotypes of these metabolizing enzymes to head and neck cancer, we have analyzed 133 head and neck cancer patients and corresponding healthy controls matched in age and sex using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). In analysis of CYP1A1, the Val/Val genotype of exon 7 polymorphism and m2/m2 genotype of Msp 1 polymorphism were associated with higher relative risks to head and neck cancers (Odds ratio : 2.34, 95% CI : 0.79-6.96 and 1.27, 95% CI : 0.59-2.73,<br/> respectively). In combined genotyping of CYP1A1 and GSTM1 enzymes polymorphisms, the patients with Val/Val and GSTM1(-), and m1/m2l and GSTM1(-) combined genotypes had higher relative risks than the patients with each base genotype of combined genotypes (Odds ratio : 4.57, 95% CI : 0.51-41.25 and 1.65, 95% CI : 0.73-3.77, respectively). These results suggest the combined genotype of Val/Val and GSTM1(-) was more susceptible to head and neck cancers in Korean and genotyping of metabolizing enzymes could be useful for predicting individual genetic susceptibility and screening the high risk subpopulation to head and neck cancer in Korean.
사람의 혈관간세포에서 Cyclosporine이 반응성 신소종(Reactive Oxygen Species)과 세포의 기질 축적에 미치는 영향

Objective: Treatment with cyclosporine(CsA) for a long-term period may induce renal glomerulosclersosis and interstitial fibrosis. Reactive oxygen species(ROS) seems to be involved in the process of glomerulosclersosis and interstitial fibrosis. We investigated the effect of CsA on the generation of ROS and extracellular matrix accumulation in cultured human mesangial cells. We also studied the relationship between ROS formation and extracellular matrix and the effect of antioxidant on ROS formation and/or extracellular matrix degradation. Methods: Mesangial cells were treated with varying dose of Cyclosporine(0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 μg/mL) and also with cyclosporine(5μg/mL) plus N-acetylcysteine(lmM). ROS was measured by flow cytometric analysis. mRNA expression of MMP-2, TIMP-2, MT1-MMP and collagen III was assessed by RT-PCR method. MMP-2 activity was measured by gelatin zymography. Results: No significant difference was noted in cell viability with each CsA concentration. CsA inhibited the cell proliferatn in a dose dependent manner and induced the expression of ROS. Antioxidant NAC reversed the effect of cyclosporine. CsA had no effect on the mRNA expression of collagen III, MMP-2, TIMP-2, MT1-MMP. However CsA decreased the MMP-2 activity in a dose dependent manner, which was also reversed by NAC. Conclusion: Cyclosporine-induced ROS may be associated with the extracellular matrix accumulation, that is glomerulosclersosis and interstitial fibrosis by inhibiting the cell proliferation and by decreasing the degradation of extracellular matrix. Antioxidant, at least in vitro, may prevent some of the adverse effects of CsA on renal function.

Preeclampsia is a condition peculiar to pregnancy which produces characteristic morphological glomerular changes. In order to clarify the renal changes in preeclampsia, renal biopsy was reviewed from 8 women who had a history of preeclampsia and who were biopsied. Clinical diagnoses were severer preeclampsia in 4, preeclampsia with nephrotic syndrome in 2, preeclampsia with glomerulonephritis including mixed connective tissue disease(MCTD) and IgA nephropathy in 2, who had electron microscopic (EM) changes of preeclamptic nephropathy superimposed on MCTD and IgA nephropathy. All showed varying degree of endothelial swelling and luminal narrowing. Four showed focal segmental or global sclerosis either in light microscopy (LM) or EM. Deposits of fibrin along the glomerular capillary wall were demonstrated in 5 cases among 7 immunofluorescent (IF) samples. IgM, IgA, C₃, C₁, C₄ were weakly positive in the half of the cases. Clinical symptoms resolved in 60 days after postpartum except for 3 cases, of which two cases were' superimposed with underlying renal desease. The characteristic morphological glomerular changes associated with preeclamsia were identified in all cases. In addition to these findings, hyaline arteriolosclerosis was present in 5 cases, among these moderate degree of arteriolosclerosis associated with focal ischemic collapse of glomeruli was noted in 2 cases, one of which was advanced IgA nephropathy. However, only one case among two cases showing early changes of focal seg- mental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) by LM displayed mild arteriosclerosis and arteriolosclerosis. In two cases with moderate degree of arteriosclerosis, EM study revealed segmental sclerosis and ischemic change of glomeruli suggesting that this segmental sclerosis appeared to be an ischemic nature induced by the ongoing hypertensive process rather than primary FSGS.
