The in Vitro chemosensitivity of fibroblast cell strains was determined using a semiautomated tetrazoliurn - based colorimetric assay(MTT assay) to 16 cosmetic materials. This assay is useful method to evaluate toxic effects of the chemicals. From assay results, we determined that the preservatives are more toxic than moisteurizers. The chemicals in the same group have a different toxicity. That is, in preservatives, Germall-115 is more toxic than Danisol - M, - P, and in surfactant, sodium lauryl sulfate than Myrj 52, and in moisteurizers, 1, 3 - butylene glycol is more safe than the others. When the results from this assay for preservatives were compared with patch test results, good correlation was observed. Forthemore, this assay method can be used together with patch test for the evaluation of the chemical toxicity, particularly in cosmetic field.

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) has high strength and light weight. Thus, it has the advantage of improving fuel efficiency. Because of its strength compared to weight, this material is used to manufacture large parts such as aircraft parts. In this paper, we study CFRP drilling and how to improve the machining accuracy of robotic drilling without an additional driving system in the robot’s end-effector. Robotic drilling hole defects cause drilling force and error displacement at the end-effector. To address this problem, the authors apply real-time calibration on the drilling path based on drilling force signals from the dynamometer. As a result, it has been confirmed that real-time path control is effective for improving robotic drilling hole quality in CFRP specimens compared to drilling without real-time path control.

We reported previously that glucagon decreased alpha- and pi-class glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) and microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEN) protein levels in primary cultured rat hepatocytes. The present study examines the effects of Protein kinase A (PKA) inhibitor, KT5720, on the glucagon-mediated decrease in expression of GSTs and mEN. To assess cell viability. lactate dehydrogenase release and MTT activity were examined in hepatocytes treated KT5720. Cell viability was significantly decreased in a concentration dependent manner after incubation with KT5720 at the concentrations of 1 $\mu$M or above for 24 h, which was inhibited by the cytochrome P450 inhibitor SKF-525A. In contrast, another PKA inhibitor H89 (up to 25 $\mu$M) was not toxic to hepatocytes. The glucagon-mediated decrease in expression of alpha- and pi-class GSTs and mEH was completely inhibited by 25 $\mu$M H89 and attenuated by 0.1 $\mu$M KT5720. This study demonstrates that KT5720 may cause cytotoxicity in rat hepatocytes through cytochrome P450-dependent bioactivation. The present study implicates PKA in mediating the inhibitory effect of glucagon on expression of alpha- and pi- class GSTs and mEH.

Background: Although urticaria is a common disorder that affects as many as 20% of all people at some time during their lifetime, the etiology of urticaria is still unknown in most cases. Objective: We attempted to analyze the clinical characteristics of chronic urticaria according to etiological aspects. Methods: The study was carried out on 230 patients with chronic urticaria, who visited our clinic with urticaria between March 2003 and February 2006. The diagnosis was made by detailed questionnaire and limited laboratory and provocation tests. Results: Of the 230 patients with chronic urticaria, 138 (60.0%) presented with idiopathic urticaria, 53 (23.1%) autoimmune urticaria, 33 (14.4%) physical urticaria and 6 (2.5%) another type. Chronic idiopathic urticaria was combined with physical components in 97 cases (42.2%), and cholinergic component was the most common form. Chronic idiopathic urticaria and autoimmune urticaria showed a higher score than physical urticaria in the severity of disease, but there was no significant difference in the duration of urticaria. Conclusion: Our data shows the clinical-etiological aspects and classification of chronic urticaria. Although the symptom severity of chronic idiopathic urticaria and autoimmune urticaria is higher than that of physical urticaria, our data is limited to predict the treatment response rate or the prognostic variables of chronic urticaria owing to the short follow-up period. Further studies will be needed to identify the natural course of chronic urticaria. (Korean J Dermatol 2007;45(6):560∼568)
매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 코깅토크 저감을 위한 Notch 설계 및 전자계 특성 분석

본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, IPMSM)의 코깅토크를 줄이기 위하여 6극 54슬롯인 모델의 회전자 표면에Notch를 적용한다. 해석 데이터의 신뢰성을 위해 2-D FEM을 사용하여 Notch의 위치, 크기, 깊이 등 설계변수에 따른 코깅토크 및 토크리플, 역기전력 THD(Total Harmonic Distortion)를 비교분석하고 전자계 특성이 향상되는 Notch 사양을 선정하여 해석모델의 코깅토크 및 전자계 특성 개선을 확인하였다.

As outdoor air quality is deteriorated by fine dust, mechanical ventilation becomes essential especially for classrooms that have a high occupancy rate. However, mechanical ventilation in classrooms may not operate for a reason that noise during classes disturbs student’s concentration. The purpose of this study is to propose a control method that can keep the noise level and CO₂ concentration within an acceptable range. Experimentation of the proposed control method has achieved at a university classroom of 230 ㎥ volume, and simulation analysis is achieved to compare the control method with a reference case. Results show that the proposed method can keep the CO₂ level under 2000 ppm for classes of a duration of 75 min even when the lowest ventilation rates are adopted during lectures.

한국철도의 객차 유지보수 체계는 기본적으로 주행거리를 충족하거나 주기가 도래함에 따라 중정비를 시행한다.(ex. 1년, 2년) 이 체계는 증기기관차를 운영하던 철도운영 초기부터 KTX, KTX-산천, 간선형전기동차를 운영하고 있는 지금까지 이어져 왔다. 차량이 현대화 됨과 동시에 예방검사에 필요한 주행거리와 주기 또한 늘어났으나 기본적인 차량의 유지보수 체계는 과거와 다르지 않다. 차량의 성능이 향상되었음에도 불구하고 과거와 같은 검수체계가 현재에도 동일하게 적용되는것이 적절한가에 대해 다방면으로 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국철도공사에서 관리, 기록되어 있는 무궁화호와 새마을호의 주기별 예방검수 현황과 운행중 발생된 고장발생 현황을 분석하였다. 분석 자료를 바탕으로 객차의 예방검수와 고장발생과의 상관관계를 확인해보고 중정비검수가 실제 고장예방에 어느정도 효과가 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 또한 일반적인 주기위주의 예방검사보다 차량상태와 장치별 특성을 고려한 효율적인 유지보수 체계에 대한 필요성에 대해 고찰해보고자 한다. Typically Korea Railroad is executing the limited inspection and general inspection about passenger car by mileage and the time elapsed.(ex. one year, two years) These types of inspection system continue from the beginning of the railroad operation of the steam locomotive age to present. According to the rolling stocks modernized and improved, mileage and the time elapsed for periodical inspection has been expanded but the basic maintainability system of rolling stocks is not that different from the past. This fact needs verification that modern inspection method is right from various fields. In this paper, we analyze the data that we get the maintenance record from Korea railroad company about periodical inspection and failure. Next to considering the correlation of periodical inspection with failure based on analyzed data for watching periodical inspection effects. And we desire to need efficient rolling stock maintenance system better than fixed periodical inspection.
