        시간 분해 반사율에 의한 생체조직의 흡수계수와 산란계수 측정

        본 연구에서는 생체조직의 흡수계수와 산란계수를 비침습적으로 측정하는 방법에 관하여 연구하였다. 피코초 영역의 펄스폭을 갖는 레이저광으로 조직을 조사하고 산란반사된 빛을 시간상관 단일 광자 계수법을 이용하여 피코초 시간영역에서 측정하였다. 측정된 시간분해 반사율의 최대치에 이르는 시간 및 나중소멸부분의 점근선의 기울기로부터 계산되는 값과 디컨블루션방법에 의한 곡선맞춤으로 얻은 값을 비교하여 서로 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 매질의 산란이 커질수록 흡수가 작을수록 근사식은 더 잘 맞으므로 가시광선부터 근적외선의 파장영역에서 흡수에 비해 산란이 매우 큰 생체조직의 광특성을 비침습적으로 측정하는 중요한 방법이 될 수 있다. A non-invasive technique to measure absorption and scattering coefficients was investigated The reflected backscattered light from the surface of phantom and biological tissue was obtained by using a time-correlated single photon counting system in pico-second time domain. The absorption and scattering coefficients were acquired by the time of peak and asymptotic behavior of the time-resolved reflectance curve and agreed well the ones that is obtained with deconvolution method It was found that the approximation method was good for biological medium to calculate optical properties due to its convenience and accuracy.

        단결정 반금속 비스무스 단일 나노선의 Shubnikov-de Haas 진동

        The magneto-transport properties of an individual single crystalline Bi nanowire grown by a spontaneous growth method are reported. A four-terminal device based on an individual 400-nm-diameter nanowire was successfully fabricated using a plasma etching technique that removed an oxide layer that had formed on the surface of the nanowire. Large transverse ordinary magnetoresistance (1401%) and negative longitudinal ordinary magnetoresistance (-38%) were measured at 2 K. It was observed that the period of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in transverse geometry was $0.074^{T-1}$, $0.16^{T-1}$ and $0.77^{T-1}$, which is in good agreement with those of bulk Bi. However, it was found that the period of SdH oscillation in longitudinal geometry is $0.24^{T-1}$, which is larger than the value of $0.16^{T-1}$ reported for bulk Bi. The deviation is attributable to the spatial confinement arising from scattering at the nanowire surface boundary.

        PVP / C₂H5OH와 PEG / H₂O 혼합 용액에 위치한 Rhodamine 6G 분자의 회전 재배열 운동

        시간 상관 단일 광자 계수법을 사용하여 PVP/C₂H_5OH와 PEG/H₂O 혼합 용매에 위치한 rhodamine 6G 분자의 회전 재배열 시간을 측정하였다. 주어진 온도에서 혼합비를 변화시키면서 측정한 결과, PEG/H₂O와 PVP/C₂H_5OH에서 각각 회전 이완 시간이 혼합액의 점성도에 선형적으로 비례하지 않는 것으로 관측되었다. 고분자 주위에 cluster가 형성된다는 관점에서 혼합비에 따른 회전 이완 시간의 변화를 설명하였다. Rotational diffusion time of rhodamine 6G molecule has been measured in PVP/C₂H_5OH and PEG/H₂O mixtures using a time-correlated single photon counting method. The rotational, relaxation times in both PVP/C₂H_5OH and PEG/H₂O do not scale linearly with solvent viscosity when the solvent composition is changed at a constant temperature. The change in the relaxation time with composition ratio is interpreted in terms of a cluster formation in the polymer solution system.

        자발 성장법으로 성장된 단결정 Bi 단일 나노선의 정상 자기 저항 특성

        단결정 Bi단일 나노선의 정상 자기 저항(ordinary magnetoresistance) 특성을 $2{\sim}300K$에서 4 단자법으로 측정하였다. I-V 측정을 통해 전기적 오믹 형성을 확인하였고, 2 K과 300 K에서 비저항이 각각 $1.0{\times}10^{-4}$와 $8.2{\times}10^{-5}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$으로 측정되었다. 수직(transverse) 및 수평(longitudinal) 자기저항비(MR ratio)가 110 K와 2 K에서 각각 현재까지 보고된 MR 중 가장 큰 2496%와 -38%으로 관찰되었으며, 이 결과는 자발 성장법으로 성장된 Bi 나노선의 결정성이 매우 우수한 단결정임을 증명한다. simple two band(STB) 모델을 통해 Bi 나노선의 수직 및 수평 정상 자기 저항(OMR) 거동이 온도에 따른 페르미 준위(Fermi level)와 밴드 겹침(band overlap)등의 전자 구조 변화 및 운반자 농도 변화로 잘 설명된다. We report the magneto-transport properties of an individual single crystalline Bi nanowire grown by a spontaneous growth method. We have successfully fabricated a four-terminal device based on an individual 400-nm-diameter nanowire using plasma etching technique to remove an oxide layer forming on the outer surface of the nanowire. The transverse MR (2496% at 110 K) and longitudinal MR ratios (38% at 2 K) for the Bi nanowire were found to be the largest known values in Bi nanowires. This result demonstrates that the Bi nanowires grown by the spontaneous growth method are the highest-quality single crystalline in the literatures ever reported. We find that temperature dependence of Fermi energy ($E_F$) and band overlap (${\triangle}_0$) leads to the imbalance between electron concentration ($n_e$) and hole concentration ($n_h$) in the Bi nanowire, which is good agreement with the calculated $n_e\;and\;n_h$ from the respective density of states, N(E), for electrons and holes. We also find that the imbalance of $n_e\;and\;n_h$ plays a crucial role in determining magnetoresistance (MR) at T<75 K for $R_T$ and at T<205 K for $R_L$, while mean-free path is responsible for MR at T>75 K for $R_T$ and T>205 K for $R_L$.

        Pd 박막의 전기저항-수소농도 이력현상

        We report on hysteresis behavior in the electrical resistance-hydrogen concentration of Pd thin films. The variation of the electrical resistance has been investigated during the process of absorption and desorption of hydrogen gas (H2) as a function of thickness of Pd thin films. The hysteresis behavior in the electrical resistance with H2 concentration was found for Pd thin films and consists of α phase, α+β phase, and β phase regions. The sensitivity of Pd thin films with H2 concentration was found to follow Sieverts` law in the α phase region. However, the sensitivity was observed to increase abruptly with H2 concentration in the α+β phase co-exist region. This is because Pd-H interaction is stronger in the β phase than in the α phase and needs a higher concentration gradient as a driving force to desorb. The formation of the β phase also was observed to cause the structural change because of the lattice expansion during absorption. The hysteresis height and the trace of structural change were affected by the thickness of the Pd film. As the film becomes thinner, the hysteresis height becomes lower and the amount of delamination on the surface becomes smaller. For films thinner than 20 nm in thickness, the delamination was not found but electrical resistance hysteresis was still observed. (Received December 22, 2008)

        Absorption spectra of blood components have been measured for the purpose of predicting the total hemoglobin concentration. We obtained absorption spectra of major blood components from the visible to near-infrared of 400∼2500nm region. In the near-infrared, water is the main absorbing constituent. The amount of water in the sample cell varies depending on the volume of solute concentration(water displacement). We acquired water-compensated spectra by considering the variation of water volume depending on the variation of analyte concentration. Those spectra show inherent absorption peaks of analytes and linearity with respect to concentration. We selected wavelengths for non-invasive measurement of hemoglobin concentration considering the scattering effect of tissue and the interference of other blood components.
