뇌경색증에 있어서 CT와 Dynamic CT의 임상적 가치에 대하여

With the advent of faster scan time and new computer program, a scanning technique called "dynamic computed tomography" has become possible. Dynamic computed tomography consists of performing multiple rapid sequence scans after injection of contrast material. The authors have evaluated the clinical uesfulness of computed tomography and dynamic computed tomography of 93 patients with brain infarction and/or ischemia during the period of 17 months from April 1983 to August 1983 to August 1984 in Department of Radiology, Chonbuk National University Hospital. The Results were as follows 1. The age distribution ranged from 18 years to 78 years. Among them the most common age group was between 50 years and 59 years(40.9%). 2. The sites of brain infarctiion were cerebral lobes(63cases, 68), basal ganglia(15cases, 16.1%) and multiple sites(6 cases, 6.4%). The common affected site was middle cerebral artery territories. 3. The contrast enhancement of acute infarction was noted in 14 ca es(17.5%) which occured commonly between 3 days and 2 weeks from ictus. 4. The patterns of time-density curve in brain infarction and/or ischemia were as follow: a. Depression of slow wash-in phase was 20 cases(59%), b. Lower peak concentration was 17 cases(50%), c. Lower and delayed peak concentration was 7 cases(21%), d. No defifite peak concentration was 6 cases(18%). First three patterns of time-density curve were thought as relatively characteristic curve of brain infarction and/or ischemia. 5. Two cases that showed negative findings on precontrast CT scan appeared to be positive findings as hypodensity on postcontrast CT scan and were confirmed as brain infarction by dynamic CT. 6. The diagnostic entity of dynamic CT scan were as follows: a. large artery thrombotic infarction were 23cases(58%), b. lacunar infarction were 6 cases(15%), c. ischemia were 5 cases(13%), d. normal were 5 cases(13%). In six cases of lacunar infarction which was doubtful hypodensity on per-and postcont ast CT scan had a marked difference in CT #(HU) on absolute scale graph of dynamic CT, so diagnosis of lacunar infarction could be made easily. 7. The clinical values of dynamic CT consist in not only diagnosis of lacunar infarction but also evalution of effectiveness of medical or surgical treatment.treatment.

Many gravitational wave detectors are now being built or under operation throughout the world. In particular, LIGO has taken scientific data several times, although current sensitivity is not sufficient to detect the weak signals routinely. However, the sensitivities have been improving steadily over past years so that the real detection will take place in the near future. Data analysis is another important area in detecting the gravitational wave signal. We have carried out the basic research in order to implement data analysis software in Korea@home environment. We first studied the LIGO Science Collaboration Algorithm Library(LAL) software package, and extracted the module that can generate the virtual data of gravitational wave detector. Since burst sources such as merging binaries of neutron stars and black holes are likely to be detected first, we have concentrated on the simulation of such signals. This module can generate pure gravitational wave forms, noise suitable for LIGO, and combination of the signal and noise. In order to detect the gravitational signal embedded in the noisy data, we have written a simple program that employs 'matched filtering' method which is very effective in detecting the signal with known waveform. We found that this method works extremely well.
Gaussian 곡률 오차 추정을 이용한 Mesh 간략화

본 논문은 mesh 간략화를 위한 새로운 Gaussian 곡률 오차 추정 방법을 제안한다. Gaussian 곡률은 임의의 형상을 갖는 삼각화 된 다면체 표면에 대하여 위상과 기하학적 정보를 angle과 face의 관계를 정형화하여, vertex에 관한 곡률로 근사하여 표현한다. 간략화 방법은 지역적 형상으로부터 전체적인 형상을 추정한 후, 적절한 curvature criteria로 간략화가 될 vertex를 선택하고 제거한다. 제거된 vertex에 의해 생성된 hole은 곡률에 기반하여 삼각화 하고 곡률이 변화되는 vertex들이 Gaussian 곡률 오차를 계산한다. 각 간략화 level마다 최대 Gaussian 곡률 오차를 계산하므로, 사용자는 Gaussian 곡률 오차 추정으로 원하는 간략화 level을 지정할 수 있다. 또한 주어진 오차 안에서 vertex 뿐만 아니라 edge나 face의 제거로, 간략화 되는 영역을 확산시켜 필요한 위상과 기하학적 정보를 유지하는 간략화를 할 수 있다.

본 연구는 철강 회사의 기존 크레인의 위치 제어 시스템을 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)과 GPS(Global Positioning System) 시스템으로 대체하기 위한 시뮬레이션을 수행한 것이다. 크레인의 위치 제어 시스템을 지상국과 차상국의 통제 시스템으로 구분하였으며, 하드웨어 시스템은 GPS위성으로부터 크레인의 위치 제어 데이터를 수신하 는 GPS 수신기 모듈, 지상국과 차상국 간 통신을 하기 위한 블루투스 통신 모듈, 크레인의 위치를 정밀하게 제어하는 초음파 센서 모듈, 크레인의 롤러를 대체한 모터, GPS 수신기 모듈과 블루투스 통신 모듈, 초음파 센서 모듈을 제 어하는 임베디드 MCU (ATmega1/28L) 등으로 구성하였으며, 소프트웨어 시스템은 GPS 위성으로부터 GPS 수신기 모 듈에 수신된 데이터 중 GGA 출력 문장을 필터링하기 위한 프로그램, 초음파 센서 구동프로그램, 크레인의 위치를 실 시간으로 모니터링 할 수 있는 디지털 지도 프로그램 등으로 구성하였다. 제안한 시스템은 위치제어를 1㎝ 간격으로 정확하게 조절이 가능함을 실험을 통해 확인하였다. In this paper, we study and simulate the suggested position control system using GPS and USN to replace the existing control system of a crane. For the correct approach, the position control system of a crane is divided into the control system of the ground station and the mobile station The hardware is comprised of GPS receiving module to receive the position control data of a crane from GPS satellites, bluetooth communication module for the data communication between the ground station and the mobile station, supersonic sensor module for a precise position control of a crane, motor to replace a crane roller, embedded MCU(ATmega128L) and so on. In here, an embedded MCU controls GPS receiving module, bluetooth communication module and supersonic sensor module. The Software is comprised of three programs. Three programs are the program to filter GGA output part in a receiving data of GPS receiving module, the driving program for supersonic sensor module, the digital map program to monitor a crane location. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed system has the capability of crane position control with 1cm precision.

Burning acupuncture is one of the methods of curing and preventing many kinds of diseases by inserting and taking out of the needle into particular points of the body so called acupuncture points, using a heated Dae-Chim which is one of the nine kinds of needles used in ancient times or by inserting a thick needle after its been heated to certain temperature. Nowadays in China, Burning Acupuncture is used thoroughly from musculoskeletal diseases to, internal medicine, gynecology and many other clinical departments. But in Korea, this method of cure is practiced by only a few clinicians, therefore by studying historical documents, our object is to recognize the importance of the Burning acupuncture and to offer the basis for the scientific researches and clinical application.
기억력 장애 환자에 대한 Pyrisuccideanol dimaleate(MOREX^�)의 임상적 효과

Cholinergic neurons are involved in memory porcesses. The activation of muscarinic receptor in central nervous system is important in memory and cognitive function. Pyrisuccideanol is the succinic acid ester of pyridoxine and of deanol, and its mode of action is presumed to be a acetylcholine precursor. In order to determine the therapeutic efficacy of pyrisuccideanol dimaleate(PSDM), a randomized doubleblind study was undertaken in patients with memory impairment. The trial duration period was 12 weeks with assessments being made initially, and at 4, 8, and 12 weeks. A consistently higher p개portion of patients treated with PSDM demonstrated an improvement in their symptoms as compared to those treated with placebo and some of the differences proved to be statistically significant. PSDM was also observed to be well tolerated. PSDM is estimated as an effective agent for the therapy of memory impairment.

Computed tomographic scan of 51 cases of obstructive jaundice were analyzed to determine the value of CT of the level and cause of obstruction. The results were as follows : 1. The sex distribution was 27 males and 24 females, and 5th and 6th decade were the prevalent age. 2. Cause of obstructive jaundice were pancreatic head cancer(19), primary biliary cancer(8), gallbladder cancer(3), stomach cancer with metastatic node(4), common bile duct calculi(9), biliary ascaris(2), ampullary cancer(2), cholangitis(2), acute pancreatitis with gallstone(1), and chronic pancreatitis(1). 3. The level of obstruction were hepatic portion(2), suprahepatic portion(7), pancreatic portion(31) and ampullary portion(11). 4. All cases of 10 severly dilated intrahepatic biliary radicles were malignant tumors, and all of malignant tumors had a definite abrupt end of shape of distal ring. 5. Computed tomography fulfill all goals considered important in obstructive jaundice and eliminate the need of invasive procedure such as percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography.
