Most users learn new, complex systems through trial-and-error experience rather than referring to the manuals in a cognitive process that is called 'exploratory learning'. While exploring a system, people find prototypical rules for using the system based especially on frequent tasks. The rules are formed from consistent task procedures and well-expected interface elements on the designed system. These rules play the role of the basis of users' knowledge for performing tasks. The decision making to select and apply those rules interacting with an interface can be aided by properly provided hints on the interface. With appropriate hints, users can learn new systems easily and use them with reduced usability problems. This paper first reports an observation of user behavior performing tasks with prototypical interaction rules and finds a sound set of criteria to extract prototypical interaction rules systematically. Two types of hints are defined. Extending hints prompt users to apply prototypical interaction rules beyond well-known tasks. Preventive hints guide users out of possible capture errors by drawing attention to the variation of rules. A systematic and practical method is proposed to identify the opportunities for both types in designing interfaces. It is then verified through a usability test that the proposed method is effective in identifying the locations and types of appropriate hints to reduce or mitigate usability problems.

In this paper, the system is implemented in four ways , For those who want to learn Chinese characters using the internet, and To make the learning more interesting and entertaining. Four different learning methods have been provided , using the transition process of Chinese characters, games, animations, and an illustration of the relationships between Chinese Characters and korean letters. The subjects of the evaluation were freshmen polled about the Chinese character learning system. The evaluation methods are : the validity of the research content is evaluated using the Cronbach's coefficient alpha and the performance of the system is evaluated by F-type of Analysis of variance.

This study was conducted to reveal central phenomena regarding the experiences of play therapists in the post-COVID-19 era. For this purpose, one semi-structured interview approximately 100 to 120 minutes in length was conducted with five experienced play therapists from Aug to Oct 2023. Based on the transcripts, the participants' experiences were analyzed according to the research method suggested by Giorgi (2004). The essence of the experience finally derived were divided into 5 structures and 23 subcategories. The five themes are ‘Experiencing a crisis’, ‘Struggling’, ‘Having the opportunity for transition’, ‘Recognizing the impact’, and ‘Adapting to the environment’. This study is significant in that it reveals the essential meaning of the experience of play therapists in the post-COVID-19 era and presents discussion points to prepare for pandemic situations in the play therapy field.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in the levels of adolescents` psychological maladjustment (depression and anxiety) across various family related variables. Family related variables were consisted of (a) parents` characteristics and (b) characteristics of family relationships (i.e., parents` child rearing attitude, parents` marital relationship, communication level between parents and adolescent children). The data were collected from 579 students from middle and high schools in Chonju by using self-administered questionnaire method. Results showed that there were significant differences in adolescents` psychological maladjustment across parents` age, mother`s occupational status, and family`s economic status perceived by adolescents. It was also found that the levels of family relationship characteristics were significantly negatively correlated with adolescents` anxiety and depression. Finally, results of multiple regression analyses showed that mother`s attitude of child rearing and adolescent children`s communication with their father were the most powerful variables affecting adolescents` psychological maladjustment.

This paper will examine the nature of mourning and melancholia in John Keats’s Endymion. It is deeply related to the process of subjectivity in psychoanalysis. According to Freud and Lacan, there is a difference between mourning and melancholia. Both are reactions to the loss of an object whom the subject loved. Mourning is a stage where the subject shifts the object of his love to another, whereas melancholia is a state in which the subject is unable to erase or change the object of his love. This leads the subject into a state of depression and disturbing self-regard. If the subject does not experience the process of mourning after the loss of an object, it is not possible to function on a normal level. These works reveal that mourning is an essential part in the process of subjectivity. In Endymion, the main character suffers severe depression because he can no longer meet his lover, the goddess of the moon. She is a figure idealized by Endymion. Endymion"s love for the goddess represents a young child refusing to abandon his love for his mother. If Endymion does not give up his love for Cynthia, he will continuously wander in a state of melancholia. However, if he gives up his love for the heavenly woman and embraces the earthly, Indian lady, it would allow him to recover from the state of melancholia and reach a normal state.

This study aims to examine the meanings of border embodied in two Border movies, <Lone Star> and <el Jardin del Eden>, both of which have been academically acclaimed. The movies explore the political, historical and social influences of racial, ethnic, sexual and cultural differences in the border region of US-Mexico. John Sayles and Maria Novaro, the directors deploy the border or border crossing as a visual argument to reveal the arbitrariness, controversy and bloodiness deeply embedded in many official demarcations, which have exerted oppressive power to multifarious aspects of life in the border area. They implicitly contest a triumphalistic view of the border as a liberatory space in Border theories and Chicano writing that some recent scholars have begun to call into question. Aligned with this challenging view, the study attempts to analyze the narratives and visual representation of border so as to show how each film carves out the political and philosophical implications of border crossing in the very specific geopolitical site of the border cities such as La Frontera(imaginary )and Tijuana(real).

Until now, Vietnamese children"s war literature was spoken and represented by American writers, not Vietnamese, from the perspective of ‘Americans.’ Inside Out and Back Again, written by Vietnamese-American writer Thanhha Lai, is significant in that it is a confession of a witness who personally experienced war and immigration. Lai focuses on the war and migration experience of a young girl, the narrator. And she realistically and delicately depicts the lives of immigrants who are stigmatized by war and racial discrimination. Most Children"s books on Vietnamese refugees lack a clear ideological stance. There is no explanation as to why the Vietnam War happened, why America is involved and entangled in it. In Inside Out and Back Again, Lai wanted to tell the real story of Vietnam refugees, not the general narrative of ‘escape - immigration - success.’ She tells about the life and experience of Vietnamese refugees who have lost their tradition, culture, language, and identity to the war. By talking about Vietnamese refugees as cultural and racial others, she helps children understand others who are different from me and young readers will learn how to treat others with love and hospitality.
