        조사료와 농후사료의 급여 순서가 In vitro 반추위 발효성상, 총 가스 발생량과 메탄 발생량에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 국내 고유종인 한우에서 1) 농후사료 급여 후 조사료 급여, 2) 조사료 급여 후 농후사료 급여, 3) TMR 급여의 총 세 가지 형태의 사료급여가 반추위 발효성상, 총 가스 및 메탄 발생량에 미치는 영향을 in vitro로 평가하기 위해 수행되었다. 사료 급여 형태에 따라 반추위 환경이 변화할 것으로 가설을 세우고, 옥수수 (M)와 티모시 (T)를 기질로 하여 반추위액의 24시간 in vitro 배양을 실시하였다. 따라서 시험 처리구는 총 6개로 구성되었다: M1, M2, M3, T1, T2, T3. 반추위 pH는 사료 급여방식 2에서 다른 처리구보다 높았고 (P < 0.001), 티모시 기질에서 옥수수 기질보다 높았다 (P < 0.001). 휘발성 지방산 (VFA; volatile fatty acid) 조사항목들 (Total VFA, acetate, propionate, butyrate, valerate)은 사료 급여방식 1에서 가장 높았고 급여방식 2에서 가장 낮았으며 (P < 0.001), 옥수수 기질에서 더 많이 생산되었다 (P < 0.001). 반추위액 내 acetate:propionate 비율은 사료 급여방식에 따른 효과는 없었으나 (P = 0.116), 티모시 기질이 옥수수 기질보다 더 높은 값을 나타냈다 (P < 0.001). 암모니아태 질소 (NH<sub>3</sub>-N)는 사료 급여방식 1에서 다른 처리구보다 높았으며(P < 0.001), 티모시 기질에서 높은 수치를 보였다 (P < 0.001). 총 가스 및 메탄가스 발생량은 사료 급여방식 1에서 가장 높았고(P < 0.001), 옥수수 기질에서 더 많이 생산되었다 (P < 0.001). 메탄은 이산화탄소의 20배 이상의 지구온난화효과를 갖는 것으로 알려져 있고, 반추가축이 섭취한 에너지의 손실로 작용하고 있어 장내발효 메탄 발생량을 저감하는 것은 매우 중요한 과제라 할 수 있다. 반추가축에서 사료급여 방식에 따른 메탄 발생량 차이에 대한 결론을 얻기 위해서는 보다 다각적인 형태의 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. The objective of this study was to evaluate effects of feeding methods on in vitro ruminal fermentation, total gas and methane production in Hanwoo steers. Six Hanwoo steers fitted with rumen cannula (430 ± 21 kg of body weight) were randomly assigned to one of three feeding systems: 1) feeding forage 1 hour after concentrate, 2) feeding concentrate 1 hour after forage, 3) feeding mixed ration. Rumen fluid sampled from each animals was incubated 24 hours with maize or timothy substrates in in vitro. Ruminal pH was increased in feeding method 2 or maize substrate than that of other methods or timothy substrate (P < 0.001). The production of total volatile fatty acid, acetate, propionate, butyrate, and valerate were increased when steers fed diets using feeding method 1 or rumen fluid was incubated with maize substrate (P < 0.001). Increased production of total gas and methane was observed in feeding method 1 and maize substrate compared to those of other methods or timothy substrate (P < 0.001). Due to the inconsistent results between ruminal fermentation and gas production in this study, further research is required to estimate effects of feeding method on enteric fermentation and gas production in in vivo.

        반점각막이상증, TGFBI각막이상증, 푹스각막이상증 환자의 전층각막이식술 후 장기 예후

        Purpose: To compare long-term outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty in treating macular corneal dystrophy, transforming growth factor beta induced (TGFBI) dystrophy, and Fuchs’ dystrophy. Methods: The present retrospective study describes the postoperative results of 123 eyes in 70 patients; 53 eyes with macular corneal dystrophy, 20 eyes with TGFBI dystrophy, and 50 eyes with Fuchs’ dystrophy. All patients received penetrating keratoplasty. The outcome measures included recurrence rate, graft rejection, graft survival rate and corneal endothelial density and other complications. Results: As compared with the other groups, TGFBI dystrophy had the highest recurrence rate (p-value < 0.0001). Fuchs’ dystrophy had the lowest graft survival rate (p-value = 0.03). Corneal endothelial cell density was lowest in Fuchs’ dystrophy 10 years postoperatively (p-value = 0.0006), but there was no significant difference in corneal endothelial cell density between the 3 groups 1 and 5 years postoperatively. There was no significant difference between the 3 groups in other complications such as graft rejection, secondary glaucoma and persistent epithelial defect (p-value = 0.809, p-value = 0.584, p-value = 0.972, respectively). Conclusions: Penetrating keratoplasty showed different long-term outcomes in treating 3 types of corneal dystrophies. The difficulty may depend on the pathogenesis of corneal dystrophies.         주자독서환의 뇌기능 활성 및 신경세포 보호효과

        Objectives This study is designed to investigate the effects of Jujadokseo-hwan on the brain ability and inducing oxidative stresses. Methods We measured the changes of regional cerebral blood flow and mean arterial blood pressure. Then we analyzed histological examination, immunohistochemistric response and anti-oxidant activity of Jujadokseo-hwan. Results 1. Treatment of Jujadokseo-hwan significantly increased regional cerebral blood flow but decreased mean arterial blood pressure. 2. Treatment of Jujadokseo-hwan-induced increase of regional cerebral blood flow was significantly inhibited by pretreatment with indomethacin (1 mg/kg, i.p.), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase. 3. In histological examination through TTC stain, group I was no change, but group II showed that discolored in the most cortical part. Group III showed that decreased discolor in the cortical part. 4. In immunohistochemistric response of BDNF, group II showed that lower response effect. Group III showed that increase response effect. 5. Treatment of Jujadokseo-hwan increased proliferation rates of Glial cell effectively 6. Treatment of Jujadokseo-hwan accelerated proliferation rates of C6 cells in vitro. In addition, protective effects on cell death induced by paraquat, rotenone and hydrogen peroxide. In addition, activity of SOD were increased by treatment with Jujadokseo-hwan. Conclusions In conclusion, Jujadokseo-hwan can improve of the brain ability, learning ability, memory ability and induce ischemic brain injuries.

        RF 플라즈마 처리법에 기반한 기계적 밀링된 Zr 분말의 구형화에 따른 특성 변화

        Powder quality, including high flowability and spherical shape, determines the properties of additively manufactured products. Therefore, the cheap production of high-quality powders is critical in additive manufacturing. Radio frequency plasma treatment is an effective method to fabricate spherical powders by melting the surface of irregularly shaped powders; in the present work, mechanically milled Zr powders are spheroidized by radio frequency plasma treatment and their properties are compared with those of commercial Zircaloy-2 alloy powder. Spherical Zr particles are successfully fabricated by plasma treatment, although their flowability and impurity contents are poorer than those of the commercial Zircaloy-2 alloy powder. This result shows that radio-frequency plasma treatment with mechanically milled powders requires further research and development for manufacturing low-cost powders for additive manufacturing.

        Variation in Fucoidan Contents and Monosaccharide Compositions of Korean Undaria pinnatifida (Harvey) Suringar (Phaeophyta)

        Three different forms of Undaria pinnatifida, the southern form (U. pinnatifida f. typica), the northern form (U. pinnatifida f. distans), and Samcheok form (recently cultivated strain), were examined for the contents and compositions of fucoidans. Fucoidans were extracted from the dried edible portions of three forms of U. pinnatifida in low pH condition, mainly by ethanol precipitation and CaCl2 treatment. It was shown that Samcheok form contains 1.8 and 3.5 times more fucoidans than the northern and the southern forms, respectively. The monosaccharide compositions of individual fucoidans were also varied. The fucoidans from the southern and the northern forms were shown to be composed of mainly fucose and galactose with the molar percentage ratios of 83.5%:16.5% and 87.4%:12.6%, respectively, indicating that these are F-type fucoidans. The fucoidan from Samcheok form, however, consisted of fucose (62.7%), galactose (32.9%), and small amount of glucose (4.4%). The results of this study showed that both amount and monosaccharide compositions of fucoidans are variable depending on U. pinnatifida forms.

        선호도 학습을 통한 이미지 개선 알고리즘 구현

        Image enhancement is a necessary end essential step after taking a picture with a digital camera. Many different photo software packages attempt to automate this process with various auto enhancement techniques. This paper provides and implements a system that can learn a user's preferences and apply the preferences into the process of image enhancement. Five major components are applied to the implemented system, which are computing a distance metric, finding a training set, finding an optimal parameter set, training and finally enhancing the input image. To estimate the validity of the method, we carried out user studies, and the fact that the implemented system was preferred over the method without learning user preferences.

        Advanced TCA 표준플랫폼은 PICMG 컨소시엄이 주관, 100여 개 회사가 참여하여 앞으로의 새로운 시장확보를 위하여 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 이러한 표준플랫폼은 실질적인 통신사업자 요구사항을 수용하고 가격을 낮추고 새로운 서비스의 도입에 위험부담을 최소화 할 수 있는 전략을 기반으로 하고 있다. 특히, 우리나라와 같은 상황에서는 개방형 표준 플랫폼을 기반으로 각각의 모듈 별 기술을 선택, 집중화하고 핵심기술을 확보하여 경쟁력을 키우는 전략으로 매우 유효할 것으로 판단된다. 본 고에서는 Advanced TCA의 전망 및 기술적 특성에 대하여 알아본다.

        랫트 뇌에서의 galectin-3의 검출

        Galectin family, endogenous ${\beta}$-galactoside-binding animal lectins, is known for the role in cell differentiation, morphogenesis, apoptosis and tumorigenesis. Galectin-3, one of family member, has been studied for its role in cell differentiation and tumor metastasis, and for its expression on epithelial cells of colon and mast cells but not in brain. Several reports, however, suggest its expression in brain including as a prion binding protein. In this report we explored possibility of galectin-3 expression in brain tissue. With Western blot and RT-PCR with rat brain tissues, we could detect galectin-3 that was not shown by conventional immunohistochemistry. Our results indicated galectin-3 was expressed in brain, and substantiate the previous report on galecin-3 as a prion-related protein in brain.

        연근(蓮根)이 Steptozotocin으로 유발된 당뇨병(糖尿病) 백서(白鼠)의 혈당(血糖) 및 혈중(血中) 지질(脂質)에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the effects of Nelumbinis Rhizomatis Nodus(NRN) on production levels of Blood Glucose and Serum Lipid Levels. Methods : This study is about changes of blood glucose levels, body weights, levels of food and water uptake, levels of total cholesterol in the body, triglyceride, Creatinine, and BUN production by NRN extract. Results : Treatment with NRN regulated blood glucose levels effectively, but treatment with NRN did not affect body weights, food and water uptake. In addition, treating with NRN also lowered levels of total cholesterol, which is important for diabetes, and also lowered levels of triglyceride, too. Serum Creatinine levels were not affected, but serum BUN levels were lowered by treating with NRN, which were elevated in diabetes. Conclusions : These results demonstrate that NRN is effective to treat DM level and also has anti-hyperlipidemic effect.
