Many of facial feature extracting applications and systems have been developed in the field of face recognition systems and its application, and most of them use the eyes as a key-feature of human face. In this paper we show a simple and fast eye detection algorithm for embedded systems. The eyes are very important facial features because of the attribution they have. For example, we know the darkest regions in a face are the pair of pupils, and the eyes are always a pair and parallel. Using such attributors, our algorithm works well under various light conditions, size of face in image, and various pose such as panning and tilting. The main keys to develop this algorithm are the eyes’ attribution that we can usually contemplate and easily find when we think about what is the attribution that the eyes have. With some constraints of the eyes and knowledge of the anthropometric human face, we detect human eye in an image, and the experimental results demonstrate successful eye detection.

2018년 적용을 앞두고 있는 소프트웨어교육과정은 다양한 연구사례를 통하여 피지컬컴퓨팅을 이용한 교육방법이 효과적임이 증명되었고, 여러 가지 교구가 개발, 도입되고 있으나, 학교급의 차이 및 학생의 발달단계, 학교현장의 다양한 상황 등을 고려한 합리적인 교구 선택기준에 대한 연구가 부족하여 문제점으로 지적되어 오고 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 교육에 경험이 있는 초등 교사들을 대상으로 델파이 조사를 통하여 초등학교 소프트웨어교육을 위한 합리적인 피지컬컴퓨팅 교구 선정 기준을 개발하였다.

컨테이너 항만에서는 저렴한 비용으로 항만서비스의 질과 하역효율을 향상시키려는 노력이 꾸준히 이루어지고 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 물류의 병목현상이 심한 컨테이너 크레인에 대한 자동화 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 크레인의 가ㆍ감속 운전으로 인해 필수적으로 수반되는 화물의 흔들림을 효율적으로 제어하면서 원하는 목표 위치에 화물을 빨리 이동시키는 것이 사이클 시간을 줄이고 하역 효율을 높이는 방법이며 크레인 자동화의 핵심 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 크레인의 트롤리를 가능한 빠른 속도로 목표지점으로 이동시키면서 목표점에서 화물의 흔들림이 빨리 제어되도록 하는 LQ 제어기의 설계 기법을 제안하고, 제안한 제어기에 대해 목표치 변경에 대한 추종성과 파라미터 변화, 외란 등의 제어환경 변화에 대한 강인성을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 검토하였다. Together with the recent increasing amount of container freight, the low efficiency of container crane causes jamming frequently in transportation and cargo handling at port. In this paper, a LQ controller for container crane is proposed to accomplish an optimal design of improved control system for minimizing the swing motion at destination. In this scheme a mathematical model for the system is obtained in state space representation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through computer simulation of a container crane system.

The automatic firewall block and fire alarm system was embodied by using gas circuit and wireless communication equipment, using a smoke sensor (ST-QA1A) and RF Module. OR-CAD was also used for testing circuit system and experiment circuit after assembling circuit. As a result in experiment, the gas sensor detected well an imaginary smoke and worked reliably for driving action of firewall block motor and wireless warning alarm. Through the smoke sensitive perception from the fire, the warning alarm and the preventing fire propagation from the specific closed region were verified reliably. The gas sensor and RF module for firewall and fire alarm system were actually available.

The reconstruction of the stereoscopic visualization model of the inner ear labyrinth from three temporal pyramids of the Korean newborns has been done using stratified transparent sheath films. 1. The transparent sheath film is highly profitable for a stereoscopic visualization material as a histological reconstruction. 2. The plane surrounded by each of the semicircular canals is on a degree of twisted surface. 3. The plane surrounded by the superior semicircular canals rest on a slope instead of a vertical plane toward the cerebral surface of the pyramid. 4. The plan surrounded by the posterior semicircular canal is not parallel with the cerebellar surface of the pyramid. The distance between the anterior portion of the plane is broader than that for the posterior portion of it. 5. The plane surrounded by the lateral semicircular canal projects as nearly a vertical manner to the planes surrounded by the rest of the semicircular canals. The plane face to posteriorly, superiorly, and medially. 6. The plane surrounded by the basal turn of the cochlea bisects the angle formed by the plane of the posterior and lateral semicircular canals. 7. The largest diameter is obserbable on the plane surrounded by the superior semicircular canal, and is followed by the posterior and lateral, successively. 8. The variability of the posteriorly opened angle between both the right and left pyramidal crests, and that of the degree of slopes formed on the cerebral and cerebellar surfaces of the pyramids depends strictly upon the shape of the head.
