Keratosis follicularis squamosa (Dohi) is a keratinizing disorder which is a separate clinical entity from keratosis follicularis (Darier`s disease). It occurs predominantly in Japanese and appears clinically as scaly patches of 3∼10 mm in diameter with brownish follicular plugs in the center, which are symmetrically scattered on the trunks and thighs. Scales on the margin, slightly detached from the underlying epidermis, look like ``lotus leaves on the water``. The efficacy of minocycline has already been confirmed in many cases. In this report, we describe a case of using 1% of pimecrolimus cream for keratosis follicularis squamosa (Dohi) instead of minocycline. (Korean J Dermatol 2013;51(7):556∼559)
병진이동으로 인한 주동파괴 시 지오그리드 보강토 모델벽체의 거동

최근 사면 및 흙막이 벽체의 붕괴에 따른 안전사고가 빈번하게 발생함에 따라 보강토 옹벽 공법의 안정성이 사회적인 문제로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 모형벽체 시험기를 제작하여 지오그리드 길이와 보강 층수에 따른 주동파괴 시 흙막이 벽체와 지반의 거동특성을 분석하였다. 벽체 시험에 사용된 지오그리드는 각각 30cm × 60cm, 30cm × 70cm, 30cm × 80cm (폭 × 길이)의 크기를 가지며, 일정한 깊이로 설치되었다. 모형벽체 시험은 2장의 동일한 길이의 지오그리드, 2장의 서로 다른 길이의 지오그리드, 4장의 동일한 길이의 지오그리드, 4장의 서로 다른 길이의 지오그리드 총 4가지 case로 나누어 모형시험을 진행하였다. 또한 유한요소 수치해석을 통해 보강방법에 따른 지반의 거동을 예측하였다. Recently, there has been a string of negligent accidents for the retaining wall and slope. In order to measure the ground deformation for the MSE wall, the authors carried out the model test to assess behavioral characteristics of geogrid MSE walls in active failure state with different conditions of geogrid reinforcement. The models are built in the soil container box having dimension, 100 cm long, 90 cm height, and 10 cm wide. The reinforcement used in the model test is geogrid (polyvinyl chloride, PVC). Three geogrids are sized by 30 cm × 60 cm, 30 cm × 70 cm, 30 cm × 80 cm (width × length) respectively. In this study, the laboratory model tests represented for several conditions of the MSE wall, and then its results were compared to 2D FE analysis.

Certification by Civil Aviation Law is necessary for aircraft parts and appliances as well as aircraft, engines, and propellers to ensure safety and reliability in operation. Advanced countries in aerospace industry as like U.S.A require Parts Manufacturer Approval for aircraft parts and Technical Standard Order Authorization for designated appliances. However. there are no legal requirements for cerification of aircraft parts and appliances in Korea until now. This study presents the draft to revise Civil Aviation Law, which is applicable to set up domestic certification system and maintain it equivalent to U.S. Federal Aviation Regulation.

The photocatalytic performance of $TiO_2$ thin films coated on porous alumina balls using various aqueous $TiOCl_2$ solutions as starting precursors, to which 1.0 $mol\%$ transition metal ($Ni^{2+},\;Cr^{3+},\;Fe^{3+},\;Nb^{3+},\;and\;V^{5+}$) chlorides had been already added, has been investigated, together with characterizations for $TiO_2$ sols synthesized simultaneously in the same autoclave through hydrothermal method. The synthesized $TiO_2$ sols were all formed with an anatase phase, and their particle size was between several nm and 30 nm showing ${\zeta}-potential$ of $-25{\sim}-35$ mV, being maintained stable for over 6 months. However, the $TiO_2$ sol added with Cr had a much lower value of -potential and larger particle sizes. The coated $TiO_2$ thin films had almost the same shape and size as those of the sol. The pure $TiO_2$ sol showed the highest optical absorption in the ultraviolet light region, and other $TiO_2$ sols containing $Cr^{3+},\;Fe^{3+}\;and\;Ni^{2+}$ showed higher optical absorption than pure sol in the visible light region. According to the experiments for removal of a gas-phase benzene, the pure $TiO_2$ film showed the highest photo dissociation rate in the ultraviolet light region, but in artificial sunlight the photo dissociation rate of $TiO_2$ coated films containing $Cr^{3+},\;Fe^{3+}\;and\;Ni^{2+}$ was measured higher together with the increase of optical absorption by doping.
