The researches to acquire diagnostic parameters from ultrasonic images are advanced with the progress of the digital image processing technique. Especially, the detection of endocardial boundary is very important in ultrasonic images, because endocardial boundary is used as a clinical parameter to estimate both the cardiac area and the variation of cardiac volume. Various methods to detect cardiac boundary are proposed, but these are insufficient to detect boundary. In this paper, an algorithm that detects the endocardial boundary, expanding the cavity region from the center using statistical information, is proposed The value of mean and sty:nd, wd deviation in cavity region is lower than those in muscle re- gion. Therefore, if we define the multiplication of mean and standard deviation as homogeneous coefficient, it can lead to conclusion that the pixels with small variation of these coefficleno are cavity region, and extraction of endocardial boundary from cavity region is possible. The proposed method detected endocardial boundary more effectively than edge based or threshold based method and is robuster to noise than radial searching method that has high dependency for center position.

In this paper, a face detection method for interactive TV control system using a new feature, edge histogram feature, with a support vector machine(SVM) in the near-infrared(NIR) images is proposed. The edge histogram feature is extracted using 16-directional edge intensity and a histogram. Compared to the previous method using local binary pattern(LBP) feature, the proposed method using edge histogram feature has better performance in both smaller feature size and lower equal error rate(EER) for face detection experiments in NIR databases.

The audio vision system was developed for visually impaired people and usability was verified. In this study ten normal volunteers were included in the subject group and their mean age was 28.8 years old. Male and female ratio was 7:3. The usability of audio vision system was verified by as follows. First, volunteers learned distance of obstacles and up-down discrimination. After learning of audio vision system, indoor and outdoor walking examination was performed. The test was scored by ability of up-down and lateral discrimination, distance recognition and walking without collision. Each parameter was scored by 1 to 5. The results were 93.5 +- SD(ranges, 86 to 100) of 100. In this study, we could convert visual information to auditory information by audio-vision system and verified possibility of applying to daily life for visually impaired people.

Nonevasive multifrequency microwave radiometry using coaxial waveguide antenna has been investigated for a homogeneous and four layer human body model. The coupling between coaxial waveguide antenna and a biological object was analyzed by use of the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method to obtain the absorbed power patterns in the media. The object studied in this paper was a homogeneous and four-layered lossy medium. The specific absorption rates(SAR) distribution which was corresponding to the temperature distribution was calculated in each region by use of the steady-state response in FDTD method. The SAR pattern of 1.2GHz was compared with that of 1.8GHz.

The purpose of this study is to perform integrated body temperature cooling of the arteriovenous anastomosis site. In the arteriovenous anastomosis site, heart cooling was performed using the palm of the hand, Cooling was achieved by using Peltier and copper plates to cool the palm of the hand with the heat transferred. The control range of the conducted heat is adjustable from 25 degrees to 30 degrees. The experimental environment was to place the treadmill in the house, The temperature in the house was set at 40 degrees and the experimenter treadmill at a speed of 5 Km. The subjects were exercised until the body temperature reached about $39^{\circ}C$. As a method to lower the body temperature after the experiment, the data of the body temperature was obtained by the general rest, onehand cooling, two-hand cooling. Experiment result better than normal rest when Two hands cooling and an average decrease of 0.66 degrees. if you develop a cooling glove with Peltier, it will be an epoch-making athletic assistant to achieve thermal fatigue.
