        Clinical Significance of Tyrosine Hydroxylase mRNA Transcripts in Peripheral Blood at Diagnosis in Patients with Neuroblastoma

        Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical significance of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) expression in peripheral blood (PB) at diagnosis in patients with neuroblastoma. Materials and Methods TH mRNA expression in PB was measured by reverse transcription quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in 210 patients who were newly diagnosed with neuroblastoma from July 2005 to June 2015 and the clinical significance of THexpression in PB at diagnosis was evaluated. Results TH expression was positive in 60 patients (28.6%). Fifty of 60 TH-positive patients had metastatic tumors and the remaining 10 had localized tumors. TH expression was associated with high-risk features (i.e., advanced stage, older age, unfavorable pathology, and MYCN amplification) at diagnosis. Among TH-positive patients, higher TH expression level was observed in high-risk patients than in low- or intermediate-risk patients (p=0.035). The probability of 5-year progression-free survival (PFS) was lower in TH-positive patients than in TH-negative patients (63.8±6.9% vs. 94.7±2.1%, p < 0.001). In analysis confined to high-risk patients, the 5-year probability of PFS remained lower in TH-positive patients (55.7±8.2% vs. 89.6±5.8%, p < 0.001). Among TH-positive patients, a higher expression level of TH was associated with a worse outcome. In multivariate analyses, positive TH expression in PB at diagnosis was an independent poor prognostic factor for PFS. Conclusion The treatment intensity should be tailored according to TH expression in PB at diagnosis.

      • 애니메이션을 활용한 초등무용수업 지도안 연구

        애니메이션의 기본적인 의사소통 도구인 움직임은 일반적인 움직임보다 더욱 과장된 형태이며 확장된 신체의 모습이라고 볼 수 있다. 캐릭터 내면의 감정 표출은 확대된 몸짓으로 나타나며 캐릭터의 생각과 상황, 감정들이 여실히 드러나게 된다. 특히, 시각에 민감한 초등학생들에게 애니메이션의 캐릭터 움직임 관찰은 수업 집중에 효과적인 역할을 할 것으로 무용 수업에 흥미 유발과 창의성 향상에 매우 긍정적일 것으로 생각된다. 이에 더불어 캐릭터의 움직임에 라반의 Effort 이론을 적용하여 움직임 요소를 이끌어 내고 확장한 다음 춤을 만들어 내는 활동을 수업지도안으로 구성하여 보고자하며 본 연구자는 초등학생들이 무용수업에 더욱 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 무용수업 지도안을 연구하는데 목적이 있다.

        음양陰陽·강유剛柔 속성으로 본 태평무에 내재된 미학적 고찰 -형신론形神論을 中心으로-

        This paper conducted a theoretical and aesthetic analysis on the artistic shape and spirit found in the traditional Korean dance based on oriental theory of arts by focusing on Han Youngsuk’s Taepyeongmu (Dance of Peace). Taepyeongmu by Han Youngsuk is a dance of the queen wishing for a great peace for the country, and this traditional Korean dance involves both shape and spirit by revealing the aesthetics underlying in the practitioner. The aesthetic characteristics of the taepyeongmu related to the hyungshin-ism are as follows. First, the Taepyeongmu practitioner controls and adjusts the moves with the practitioner’s emotional lines, and the spirit controls the shape to show the beauty of moderation for reaching the state of exquisiteness with shifting thoughts. Secondly, the Taepyeongmu shows the beauty of dynamics as the power and tempo of the dance are controlled by the practitioner’s will expressed by the shape as well as the power that expresses the shape for feeling and appreciating the rhythmic vitality. Third, the Taepyeongmu shows the beauty of harmony as the dance moves that compose each rhythm, shape, and spirit discord but accommodate each other at the same time for achieving central harmony. This study examined the rhythm, moves, and spatial structure of the Taepyeongmu based on yin and yang to categorize the types of the Taepyeongmu moves into property of yang, property of yin, and property of mixed yin and yang. According to the examination on the aesthetic characteristics underlying in Taepyeongmu based on theory of yin-yang and five elements, Taepyeongmu have an aesthetic relationship with the hyungshin-ism.

        Iron Deficiency Anemia

        Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is a common medical problem that affects an estimated 30-50% of the world’s population. The causes of IDA are malnutrition, rapid growth with improper dietary iron, blood loss through gastrointestinal tract or menstruation. The genetic factors of iron-refractory iron deficiency anemia have also been identified. Previous studies on the theory of hepcidin-based homeostatic regulation have helped increase our understanding of iron metabolism. Symptoms of anemia may include non-specific symptoms, such as pale appearance, fatigue, weakness, and decreased appetite, as well as impaired neurocognitive functions, including delay mental development and restless leg syndrome. IDA can be diagnosed by laboratory findings. The conventional tests that are typically performed to diagnose IDA include hemoglobin level, serum iron, transferrin saturation, and ferritin level, as well as soluble transferrin receptor, hepcidin level, zinc protoporphyrin, reticulocyte hemoglobin content. Treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis, and both oral and parenteral iron can be used. Symptoms improve quickly after treatment; however, the diagnosis and treatment of IDA is rather overlooked. Therefore, it is necessary to better understand the disease process of IDA, make an accurate diagnosis, and prescribe essential iron supplements to patients with symptoms.

        Clinical, radiologic, and genetic features of Korean patients with Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA

        Purpose Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA (MPS IVA; Morquio A syndrome) is rare lysosomal storage disorder caused by N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase (GALNS) deficiency. Only a few MPS IVA cases have been reported in the Korean literature; there is a paucity of research about clinical or radiologic findings for this disorder. Therefore, we studied clinical findings, radiological features, and genetic data of Korean MPS IVA patients for determining factors that may allow early diagnosis and that may thus improve the patients' quality of life. Method MPS IVA was confirmed via assay for enzymatic activity of leukocytes in 10 patients. The GALNS gene was analyzed. Patients' charts were retrospectively reviewed for obtaining clinical features and evaluated for radiological skeletal surveys, echocardiography, pulmonary function test, and ophthalmologic test results. Result Nine patients had severe clinical phenotype, and 1 had an intermediate phenotype, on the basis of clinical phenotype criteria. Radiologic findings indicated skeletal abnormalities in all patients, especially in the hips and extremities. Eight patients had an odontoid hypoplasia, and 1 showed mild atlantoaxial subluxation and cord myelopathy. Genetic analysis indicated 10 different GALNS mutations. Two mutations, c.451C>A and c.1000C>T, account for 37.5% (6/16) and 25% (4/16) of all mutations in this samples, respectively. Conclusion An understanding of the clinical and radiological features involved in MPS IVA may allow early diagnosis of MPS IVA. Adequate evaluations and therapy in the early stages may improve the quality of life of patients suffering from skeletal abnormalities and may reduce life-threatening effects of atlantoaxial subluxation.

        대학생의 완벽주의적 자기제시, 자기몰입 및 자기은폐가 사회불안에 미치는 영향: 완벽주의적 자기제시의 하위요인을 중심으로

        This study examined the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety in college students, and the mediating effects of self-absorption and self-concealment in this relationship. Participants were 462 college students. The results indicated that perfectionistic self-presentation, self-absorption, self-concealment, and social anxiety were all significantly correlated with one another. Self-absorption had a full mediating effect on the relationship between perfectionistic self-promotion (PSP; a sub-factor of perfectionistic self-presentation) and social anxiety; however, there was no significant mediating effect of the two other PSP sub-factors, nondisplay of imperfection (NDP), and nondisclosure of imperfection (NDC). Additionally, self-concealment had a full mediating effect on the relationship between NDC and social anxiety, but not on the relationship between PSP and NDP. This study has implications for providing support to college students with social anxiety and perfectionistic self-presentation tendencies. 본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 완벽주의적 자기제시의 하위요인 각각이 사회불안으로 이행되는 과정에서 자기몰입과 자기은폐가 매개요인으로 작용하는지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 대학생을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 실시하여 총 462명의 자료를 분석하였다. 변인들 간의 관련성을 상관분석을 통해 확인하였고, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하여 연구모형의 적합성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 자기몰입, 자기은폐, 사회불안은 서로 모두 유의한 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 완벽주의적 자기제시의 하위요인 중 ‘완벽주의적 자기노력’ 요인과 사회불안의 관계에서 자기몰입이 완전매개하였다. 반면, ‘불완전함 은폐노력-행동적’ 요인과 ‘불완전함 은폐노력-언어적’ 하위요인에서는 자기몰입의 매개효과가 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, ‘불완전함 은폐노력-언어적’ 요인과 사회불안의 관계에서 자기은폐가 완전매개하였다. 반면, ‘완벽주의적 자기노력’ 요인과 ‘불완전함 은폐노력-행동적’ 하위요인에서는 자기은폐의 매개효과가 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 사회불안의 발생 기제에 대한 정보를 확장함으로써 완벽주의적 자기제시 성향을 지닌 대학생들의 사회불안 치료의 초점을 명확히 했다는 데 의의가 있다.

      • 초등학생의 캐릭터재구성 무용교육 프로그램 개발

        본 연구는 자아탄력성과 창의성에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 초등학생 대상 캐릭터재구성 무용교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 디즈니 애니매이션으로 제작된 `미녀와 야수`와 `뮬란`을 활용하여 등장인물의 역할과 움직임을 탐색한 후 이를 춤으로 표현할 수 있도록 프로그램을 구성하였다. 그리고 이와 같은 전 과정에 대해 이야기함으로써 수업에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 하였다. The purpose of this study was to develop a dance education program by reconstruction of animation characters that can have positive effects on resilience and creativity of elementary school students. By using the Disney animations `Beauty and the Beast` and Mulan, the study examined the roles and movements of the characters and developed a program to express them as a dance. And then, the learners were asked to talk about the entire process and, thereby, participate actively in the class.

        신생아기 유전자 검사를 통해 진단된 May-Hegglin anomaly 1례

        May-Hegglin anomaly is an autosomal dominant platelet disorder characterized by giant platelets, thrombocytopenia, and Dohle-like cytoplasmic inclusion bodies in granulocyte. Usually, diagnosis was delayed because they do not have life-threatening bleeding. We experienced a case of May-Hegglin anomaly, which was diag nosed with genetic study at neonate. A 3 days old female has bilateral cephalhematoma at birth after a Caesarean section delivery. Thrombocytopenia with inclusion bodies in granulocyte was observed at peripheral blood cell morphology. Her mother had thrombocytopenia at pregnancy and was diagnosed May-Hegglin anomaly through MYH9 mutation gene study. Accordingly, infant had genetic study and found same gene mutation with mother. Based on the family history, we can diagnose May-Hegglin anomaly in a newborn infant who has cephalhematoma and thrombocytopenia by genetic study.

        초등학생의 창의성 신장을 위한 광고활용교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용

        이 연구는 초등학생의 창의력 신장을 위한 광고활용교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이 프로그램이 창의성 신장에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위해 수행하였다. 선행연구 고찰을 통해 광고가 아동의 창의성을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육적 소재가 될 수 있음을 확인하고 여기에서 도출한 시사점을 바탕으로 14회기(총 20차시)로 구성된 광고활용교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 프로그램이 초등학생의 창의성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 최인수, 이종구(2004)의 초등학생의 창의성 계발을 위한 창의성 검사도구를 사용하였으며 i-STATistics 통계처리 프로그램을 사용하여 결과를 분석·처리하였다. 이 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광고활용교육에 대한 선행연구와 개발된 자료들을 고찰.분석하여 초등학교 학생들의 이해수준에 맞춘 총 20차시 분량의 광고활용교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 둘째, 광고활용교육 프로그램은 초등학교 4학년 학생의 창의성 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 창의성 하위요인들 중 선천적 영향이 비교적 큰 성격 영역에서는 유의미한 변화가 없었으나 창의적 사고와 창의적 동기 영역에서는 모두 유의미하게 향상된 결과를 보였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 프로그램은 초등학교 창의적 체험활동 등과 같은 시간을 통해 활용될 수 있으며, 좀 더 체계적인 광고활용교육 교수.학습 활동 관한 후속 연구가 이루어진다면 광고활용교육 프로그램의 활용 가치가 높아질 것으로 사료된다. This research intended to develop Advertising In Education(AIE) program for the growth of elementary school students` creativity and verify its effects by implementing the program. Through the consideration of precedent researches, it confirmed that advertisement can be educational material which can improve children`s creativity, an educational program using advertisement based on the drawn implications was debeloped and applied to elementary school children and total 20 times of classes in creative experience activity and art class for 14 weeks by the pretest-posttest control design, for 2 classes for the fourth grade of elementary school. To analyze the effects the program developed in this research the creativity test (2004) of Choi and Lee, organized by three sectors including creative characteristic, creative thought and creative motive for the development of elementary school students` creativity was used. For the collected materials were analyzed by I-STATistics statistical treatment program. The conclusions of this research are as follows. First, an AIE program for the understanding standard of elementary school students was developed by considering and analyzing precedent researches and developed materials. The program was organized by various experience activities such as advertisement analysis, discussion of thought and feeling after watching, advertisement making, etc. after selecting the advertisement which can induce students` interests. Teaching;learning guidance and activity paper and Teaching;learning material teachers can refer were manufactured so that the program can be utilized easily to actual field. Second, the application of AIE program makes a positive effect on the improvement of elementary school students` creativity. Creative characteristic organized by factors with lots of innate effects didn`t show significant change, but creative factors of creative thought and creative motive showed significant improvement(p<0.001). For the implication of this research, AIE program was verified to make a positive effect on the improvement of elementary school students` creativity. If following studies on systematic teaching;learning activities of AIE are conducted based on the implication, AIE program will show a high value of program utilization.
