        This study reports the importance of success factors for high-tech ventures based on the survey of DIT Business Incubator's ventures. We classified the success factors of high-tech ventures into four major groups and inquired about K and D ventures of DIT Business Incubator. The AHP method was applied to analyze the data. The result of analysis shows that the adequate opportunities(market opportunity, technical opportunity) and the resources security(technical resources, man power resources) are very important factors for high-tech ventures' success.

        This paper is concerned with the importance of effective factor in Quality Control Circle Activity. The Quality Control Circle Activity is very important factor for a successful Total Quality Management(TQM). We inquired into D company in Pusan, and analyzed it's data through the AHP method. The result of analysis shows that the concern of top manager is very important factor for Quality Circle Activity. And also, circle members' voluntary participation and cooperation are very important factors.

        In this study, we establish bootstrap control limits for EWMA chart by applying the bootstrap method, called resampling, which could not demand assumptions about pre-distribution when the process is skewed and/or the normality assumption is doubt. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows : bootstrap EWMA control chart is developed for applying bootstrap method to EWMA chart, which is more sensitive to small shifts of process. With the purpose of eliminating a skewness of the resampling distribution, the bootstrap control limits are established by using a modified residual, and its performance is analyzed by ARL. It is shown that the bootstrap EWMA control chart developed in this study includes the properties of standard EWMA control chart that is sensitive to a small shift, and detects process in out of control more quickly than standard EWMA chart.

      • 硏究開發 프로젝트 選定評價模型에 관한 硏究 : 水産公共硏究機關의 硏究開發事業을 중심으로

        This paper aims to examine and analyze the merits and demerits of the existing evaluation models and to contribute to the practical applications of the evaluation models appropriate to both business and public organization. This study classifies the existing models into four categories based on the criteria as follows ; 1) the characteristics of the model ; 2) the stepwise decision making ; 3) the ovjective ; 4) the development process. Furthermore, these models are divided into the following groups on the basis of the evaluation purpose ; 1) the screening model ; 2) the prioritizing model ; 3) the resource allocation model ; 4) the compound application model. This study is to study and aggregation model which enables the project manager to make a rational decision in project selection. The aggregation model is divided into sub-models according to the evaluation objects ; DAHS, DAHP, and DAHR model. DAHS model is for the screening of the proposed projects by using scoring methods based on Delphi and AHP methods. This sub-model is appropriate for eliminating the most undesirable from further consideration. DAHP model is for prioritizing the screened candidates. For the measure of goodness, the priority vectors are calculated (or generated) using AHP and Delphi method. DAHR model is studied by this paper for the R/D resource allocation using LP and 0-1 programming. This sub-model uses a utility value calculated by the priority vectors. The aggregation model is applied to the evaluation of a public research institute projects with a series of real data. Several conclusions are drawn from the analysis and evaluation of the projects. The DAHS model solves the problems posed by the subjectivity in determination of evaluating factors and their weights, which prevails in existing evaluation models. The priority of R & D project is decided by the of DAHP model, which makes mutual comparisions of the concerned elements. Therefore DAHP model is considered to be more rational than the existing ones. DAHR model helps to distribute the R & D resources effectively by means of LP and 0-1 programings using priority vector. The application of the priority vector for LP and 0-1 programmings according to partial or total implementation eases much of difficulties in computing the extent of contribution. Especially proposed model is known the be appropriate to eliminate the factors of subjective evaluation. In conclusion, proposed model is considered to be useful in practically serving the purpose of evaluation R & D projects for both business and public organizations.

        The purpose of this paper is to overview the development process of Korean Foreign Direct Investment and identify some problems arising from those entries into foreign countries, especially Southeast Asian Region including Vietnam and explore Korean companies' strategies to enter into those markets by means of FDI. Korean firms must consider linkages via FDI to be a strategic choice that enhances their competitiveness in a globalized market, rather than a profit-seeking motive aimed at extracting economic rent from a foreign market. Korean firms should build up firm-specific advantage based on core competence that have application in a variety of areas to provide a broad base for expansion, be widely leveraged and lower country risk. To gain competitive advantage in foreign markets, Korean companies take a prudent consideration of their strategy and structure, factor conditions, market conditions and related and supporting industries.

        Over the last few years Total Quality Management(TQM) programs have been widely adapted by the Korean construction companies to improve their productivity, competitive edge, and product quality level. Many companies have been proceeding or have completed the development of quality system since 1992. However medium and small size construction companies have many difficulties due to lack of understanding, cooperation of top or related management, money and man power. In this paper the problems of the minor construction companies are picked out through the case study of D construction company in Pusan and then countermeasures which can be efficiently applied to the development and operation of quality management system are suggested to help the medium and small construction companies that want to adopt the quality management system.

        Monitoring Plant Health Using a Plant Microbial Fuel Cell

        A plant health monitoring method based on a plant microbial fuel cell (PMFC) technique was investigated. The reducing action of plant exudates on electrochemically active bacteria (EAB) in the rhizosphere was used as the basis of the method. Ardisia pusilla was used as an experimental plant. The results indicated that the open circuit potential (OCP) development from the PMFC is closely related to plant health and affected by the cultivation environment. Distinctive OCP developments were observed using the PMFC with live, dead (heat shocked), or no plant. Cultivation conditions such as watering, fertilizing, temperature variation, and lighting affected OCP development from the PMFC. Plant root viability analysis indicated that OCP development from the PMFC is closely related to plant health. These results suggest that this method based on the PMFC technique is a facile, cost-effective, and rapid tool for monitoring plant health.

        수확시기별 단풍나무 추출물의 항산화 활성과 항균 활성

        목적: 본 연구는 수확시기별 단풍나무 추출물의 항산화 활성과 항균 활성을 비교하여, 생리활성이 높은 적정 수확시기 및 이용시기를 도출하고자 하였다. 방법: 단풍나무 잎을 수확 시기별로 추출한 후, 총 폴리페놀 함량, 총 플라보노이드 함량, DPPH radical 소거활성, 세포독성, 그리고 Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis 그리고 Pseudomonas aeruginosa에 대해 항균 활성을 측정하였다. 결과: 단풍나무 추출물의 항산화 함량과 항산화 활성은 7월과 11월에 가장 높게 나타났다. RAW 264.7 세포에 대해서 7월과 11월의 시료 5-100 µg/mL 농도에서 높은 세포생존율을 나타냈다. 3종의 균주에 대한 항균 실험 결과, 시기별로 항균 활성에 차이를 나타냈다. 결론: 단풍나무 추출물은 항산화 함량, 항산화 활성 및 항균 활성에서 시기별 차이를 보였으며, 항산화능이 높은 7월과 11 월의 100 µg/mL 농도에서 높은 세포생존율을 보였다. 따라서 단풍나무 추출물을 천연 항산화제로서 활용할 경우 수확시기는 중요한 요소로 작용하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며 7월과 11월이 최적의 수확 시기임을 확인하였다. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the optimal collection time of Acer palmatum extract (APE) through anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial activities. Methods: We confirmed the anti-oxidant activity of APE by estimating the total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging effect, and cell viability. In addition, we determined anti-bacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa during growth. Results: Anti-oxidant activities of APE peaked in July and November. RAW 264.7 displayed high cell viability in APE concentrations of 5–100 µg/mL in July and November. As a result of conducting anti-bacterial activities, seasonal variation of APE against three bacteria was exhibited. Conclusion: The anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial activities of APE showed seasonal variation, and high cell viability in July and November; therefore, consideration of the optimal seasonal collection time for Acer palmatum could be an important factor attributing to its natural antioxidant properties and the optimal collection time was confirmed especially to be in July and November.
