This paper considers the problem of time difference-of-arrival(TDOA) source localization when the TDOA and angle of arrival(AOA) measurements from an airborne emitter source are subject to ground-platform sensor position. The optimization of sensors' position is a challenging problem and a solution with good localization accuracy has yet to be found. This paper proposes an estimator that can achieve these purposes and provides optimized sensor position for good localization accuracy using the proposed estimator. The developed algorithm and sensor position are then examined under the special case of a single airborne source. The theoretical developments are supported by simulations.
인공발목관절의 임상시험 가이드라인 개발을 위한 문헌적 고찰

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop guidelines for clinical trial of the total ankle replacement system for premarket approval. Materials and Methods: We selected and analyzed nine peer-reviewed articles whose quality had been proven in a previous phase. Two investigators extracted parameters for guideline criteria, including number of cases, patient age, follow-up period, failure rate, radiographic osteolysis rate, residual pain rate, and percentage of satisfaction. In addition, the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analyzed and developed. Results: Eight level IV studies and one level II study were included. The average number of cases was 159 cases and the mean patient age was 63.5 years. The mean follow-up period was 4.2 years, ranging from two to nine. The average failure rate of total ankle replacement in mid- to long-term follow-up was approximately 13% (2%~32.3%). The rate of osteolysis was approximately 18%. Residual pain was common (21.4%~46%), but overall patient satisfaction was approximately 85.6% (67.5%~97%). Conclusion: The results could be used as criteria for designing the clinical studies, such as number of cases, patient age (over 60 years), and follow-up period (minimum two years). The clinical scoring system and 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) was the most commonly used method for clinical evaluation for total ankle arthroplasty. In addition, the overall results, including failure rate, osteolysis rate, and patient satisfaction, could be used as a parameter of guidelines for premarket approval.
A New Method for Transduction of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Using Mechanical Agitation

Applications of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in gene therapy have been hampered by the low effi-ciency of gene transfer to these cells. In current transduc-tion protocols, retrovirus particles with foreign genes make only limited contact with their target cells by passive diffusion and have short life spans, thereby limiting the chances of viral infection. We theorized that mechanically agitating the virus-containing cell suspensions would in-crease the movement of viruses and target cells, resulting in increase of contact between them. Application of our mechanical agitation for transduction process has in-creased the absorption of retrovirus particles more than five times compared to the previous static method without changing cell growth rate and viability. The addition of a mechanical agitation step increased transduction effi-ciency to 42%, higher than that of any other previously-known static transduction protocol.
근위 상완골 삼분 골절에 시행한 긴장 대 봉합과 고정 봉합을 동반한 관혈적 골수강내 금속정 고정술

목 적: 근위 상완골 삼분 골절 환자에 대해 긴장 대 봉합과 고정 봉합을 동반한 골수강내 금속정 고정술을 관혈적으로 시행하고 그 연령과 골밀도 차이에 따른 결과를 비교하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 근위 상완골 삼분골절에 대하여 긴장 대 봉합과 고정 봉합을 동반한 관혈적 골수강내 금속정 고정술을 시행했던 30예를 대상으로 하였으며. 평균 추시기간은 50개월 (범위: 17∼143개월)이었다. 술 후 기능 평가로 ASES score, Neer score 및Constant score을 이용하였다. 연령에 따라 65세 미만 환자 (제1군)와 65세 이상 환자 (제2군)로 분류를 하였으며, 골밀도에 따라 t-score-2.5 미만 환자 (제3군)와 - 2.5 이상 환자(제4군)로 분류를 하였다. 결 과: 최종 추시상 1예를 제외하고 모든 골절에서 골유합을 얻었다. 평균 관절 운동 범위는 전방거상은 142˚였으며, 외회전은56˚, 90˚ 외전에서 외회전은 68˚로 나타났다. 동통평가에서는 평균 1.5점으로 비교적 우수한 결과를 보였다. ASES score는 평균 86점, Neer score는 평균 89점, Constant score는 평균 85점이었다. 제1군과 제2군의 비교에서 동통 평가, ASES score, Neer score와 constant score는 제1군이 우수하였으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 보이지 않았으며 (p>0.05), 제3군과 제4군의 비교에서도 같은 결과를 보였다 (p>0.05). 상완골두의 무혈성괴사는 없었으며, 초기 1예에서 불유합 및 금속정 돌출이 있어 이차적으로 인공관절 치환술을 시행하였다. 결 론: 상완골 근위부 골절의 치료로 긴장 대 봉합과 고정 봉합을 동반한 관혈적 골수강내 금속정 고정술은 조기 관절운동의 장점이 있고 술 후 기능상도 좋은 결과를 보였으며 골다공증이 있는 노령 환자에서도 좋은 수술적 방법이라고 생각한다. Purpose: To evaluate the results according to the difference of age and bone mineral density (BMD) of the surgical treatments using open intramedullary nail with tension sutures and lock suture on proximal humeral three part fracture Materials and Methods: 30 patients treated by open intramedullary nail with tension band and lock suture technique on proximal humeral fractures were reviewed. After treatment, average follow up periods was 50 months (range; 17~143 month). Postoperative clinical outcome was evaluated using ASES functional score, Neer score and constant score. Results: Bony union were obtained all except one case. Range of motion, mean forward elevation was 142˚, mean external rotation was 56˚, mean external rotation at 90˚ abduction was 68˚. Average pain score of visual analog scale was 1.5. Average functional score of American Shoulder and Elbow Society was 86. Average Neer score was 89. Constant score was 85. Pain and functional score of group I were better than those of group, however, there was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05). In the comparison between group III and group IV, the results were same (p>0.05). Conclusion: The patients treated using open intramedullary nailing, tension band and lock suture could enable early ROM exercise and show good clinical results. This treatment method will be useful in old age osteoprorotic patients.

전자전 환경에서 위협 신호원의 순시 위치추정 성능은 위협과 다수의 수신기들의 기하학적 배치 및 측정 가능한 정보에 따라 가변되며, 상황에 맞는 복합적 정보의 선택 및 활용은 단일 제원을 이용한 경우보다 높은 위치추정 정확도를 가지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 현대의 전자전 지원(electronic warfare support) 분야에서는 전략적 운용의 효율성을 위해 적은 수의 수신기를 이용하여 원거리 위협의 정밀한 위치추정을 지향한다. 본 논문에서는 제한된 환경의 2개의 이동하는 수신기를 이용하여 고정 위협의 위치추정을 위해 측정 가능한 정보별 이론적 위치추정 성능을 도출 및 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 위치추정에 적합한 정보조합을 제시한다. 또한, 정보들의 변화에 따른 위치추정 성능을 분석 및 제시한다. The accuracy of instantaneous passive emitter localization varies with sensing platforms and measurable parameters. Appropriate combination of instantaneous measurable parameters have more accurate localization performance than a single parameter based localization in general. Emitter localization is preferred to use a small number of receivers as possible for the efficiency of strategic management in the field of modern electronic warfare support. For this reason, we compare CRLB (Cramer-Rao lower bound) of two moving platform with various measurable parameters to search a appropriate choice of parameters for the better localization performance through the x-y axis CEP (circular error probable) derived form CLRB. In addition, we present the relation of the localization performance and accuracy of measurable parameters.

심방세동을 판별할 수 있는 알고리즘을 구현하기 위해 주위의 노이즈에 대해 영향을 덜 받는 심박동 시간 간격에 대해 분석하였다. 심박동 시간간격으로부터 Poincare plot을 그린 후 규칙적 패턴이 있는지, 대각선 주위에 점들이 얼마만큼 퍼져서 분포하는지, 심박동 시간간격의 변화율은 어떻게 되는지, 클러스터들은 몇 개가 있는지 등을 종합하여 분석하였다. 이러한 Poincare plot의 클러스터의 개수에 따라 두 경우로 나눠서 각 경우에 대해 support vector machine에 의한 10-fold cross validation을 하였다. 이 두 경우 각각에서 기준특징집합을 서로 다르게 채택하였다. 각각의 정확도는 93.7%와 95.3%이었다. Here the beat rhythms of ventricles were analyzed to diagnose atrial fibrillation. These beat rhythms of ventricles are less likely to be influenced by the environmental noise. After making the Poincare plot from these beat intervals, we observed whether this plot has the regular pattern or not. And we analyzed the dispersiveness of points around the diagonal line in Poincare plot and estimated the number of clusters. Also we analyzed the average rate of change of the beat intervals. By the number of clusters we divided the problem into two classes and calculated the accuracy from 10-fold cross validation for each class. The accuracies were 93.7% and 95.3%.
