        이종접합 Gate 구조를 갖는 수평형 NiO/Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> FET의 전기적 특성 연구

        Gallium Oxide (Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>) is preferred as a material for next generation power semiconductors. The Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> should solve the disadvantages of low thermal resistance characteristics and difficulty in forming an inversion layer through p-type ion implantation. However, Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> is difficult to inject p-type ions, so it is being studied in a heterojunction structure using p-type oxides, such as NiO, SnO, and Cu<sub>2</sub>O. Research the lateral-type FET structure of NiO/Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> heterojunction under the Gate contact using the Sentaurus TCAD simulation. At this time, the VG-ID and VD-ID curves were identified by the thickness of the Epi-region (channel) and the doping concentration of NiO of 1 × 10<sup>17</sup> to 1 × 10<sup>19</sup> cm<sup>-3</sup>. The increase in Epi region thickness has a lower threshold voltage from -4.4 V to -9.3 V at I<sub>D</sub> = 1 × 10<sup>-8</sup> mA/mm, as current does not flow only when the depletion of the PN junction extends to the Epi/Sub interface. As an increase of NiO doping concentration, increases the depletion area in Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> region and a high electric field distribution on PN junction, and thus the breakdown voltage increases from 512 V to 636 V at I<sub>D</sub> =1 × 10<sup>-3</sup> A/mm.

      • Identification of Ellagitannins in Black Raspberry Seeds and Optimization of Accelerated Solvent Extraction of Ellagitannins Using Artificial Neural Network Coupled with Genetic Algorithm

        This study aimed to identify ellagitannins in black raspberry (Rubus occidentalis) seeds (BS) and to optimize accelerated solvent extraction of ellagitannins using artificial neural network (ANN) coupled with genetic algorithm (GA). Ellagitannins were fractionated using Amberlite XAD-16N and Sephadex LH-20 resins. The ellagitannin fraction was qualitatively analyzed by HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS. BS had mainly monomeric and dimeric ellagitannins such as pedunculagin, castalagin, acutissimin A, sanguiin H-10, casuarictin, sanguiin H-2, sanguiin H-6, and sanguiin H-6 without a gallic moiety. For ANN modeling, extraction time (3-9 min), extraction temperature (40-70°C), and solvent concentration (50-100% acetone) were set as independent input variables, and total ellagitannin content was set as output variable. The ANN of this study had an input layer with three neurons, a hidden layer with ten neurons, and an output layer with one neuron. The optimal extraction conditions of the total ellagitannin content were predicted by the trained ANN coupled with GA. This study is the first attempt to analyze ellagitannin content in BS.

        Raping Translation in Translating Rape: A Case Study of The Bluest Eye

        What this paper deals with is that how it would be then if a male translator happens to deal with rape of women in a woman writer's text that is written from a feminist perspective and if he would possibly, consciously or not, distort the feminist rape narrative in various ways because of his male identity. These research questions are brought from Chen's research, and this paper substantiates them by the analysis and comparison of the Korean translated texts. The recent studies in translation studies, including feminist translation theory, indicate male translators are influenced by gender awareness. Therefore this paper studying the translated texts of two male translators in terms of translating ‘rape’ and ‘incest’ in The Bluest Eye is considered worthwhile. The Bluest Eye written by Tony Morrison and its two different male translators' Korean versions are subject to the comparative analysis of this study.

        효율적인 군 전직지원체제 정립 방안

        이 연구의 목적은 제대군인에 대한 효율적인 전직지원을 위해서 현행 전직지원 프로세스에 대한 개선 안과 이에 따른 국방부, 국가보훈처 등 제대군인 전직지원관련 기관 간의 역할분담 및 연계방안에 대해서 제안하는 것이다. 연구는 크게 세 가지 과정을 거쳤다. 첫째, 국내 군 전직지원 실태를 분석하여 문제점과 시사점을 도출하였다. 둘째, 이러한 문제점과 시사점, 군 전직지원 선행연구를 종합하여 효율적인 군 전직지원 프로세스 안을 제시하였다. 셋째, 구축한 군 전직지원 프로세스 안에 따라 주요 군 전직지원 관련 기관인 국방부, 국가보훈처의 역할 분담 안을 제안하였다. This study aims to suggest an improvement plan for the support process of effective occupation change for discharged soldiers and then role assignments among related institutions for supporting discharged soldiers such as Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Ministry of Labor and the cooperation plan among the institutions. The study was made in three steps. First, after analyzing currents support facts and status for discharged soldiers, it induced its problems and implications. Second, integrating the findings of previous studies related to support plan on occupation changes for the discharged soldiers, Problems and implications mentioned above, it constructed effective occupation change process for discharged soldiers. Then, according to the established process, it suggested role assignments such as Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Ministry of Labor.

        Effect of Ce and La Substitution on the Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of Hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B Magnets

        Nd in hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets was partially substituted by Ce and La for the purpose of reducing the materials cost and balancing the utilization of rare earth resources. Initial melt-spun ribbons with the nominal compositions of (Nd1-xMx)13.6FebalB5.6Ga0.6Co6.6 (x = 0, x = 0.2/M=Ce, x = 0.3/M=Ce, Ce+La, wt.%) were prepared by a single-roller melt-spinning method, and pulverized into powders. The powders were then hot-pressed at 973 K under 100 MPa, and deformed at 973 K until 75 % of height reduction was achieved. The magnetic properties of hot-deformed magnets were decreased with the substitution of Ce for Nd. In addition, simultaneous substitution of Ce and La for Nd resulted in much lower magnetic properties. This tendency was almost the same as initial melt-spun powders. The deterioration on magnetic properties by substation of Ce and La for Nd in hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets could be attributed to not only inferior intrinsic properties of (Ce/La)₂Fe14B to Nd₂Fe14B phase but also the effect of Ce/La substitution on microstructure such as density and grain alignment during hot-deformation. Although the magnetic properties were deteriorated by substitution of Ce and La for Nd in hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets, the cost performance was largely enhanced from 2.32 to 2.62 MGOe×kg/$ by 13 % when increasing the content of Ce substituted for Nd from 0 to 0.3 wt.%.

        Long non-coding RNA <i>HOTAIR</i> is associated with human cervical cancer progression

        <P>The functions of many long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in human cancers remain to be clarified. The lncRNA Hox transcript antisense intergenic RNA (<I>HOTAIR</I>) has been reported to reprogram chromatin organization and promote breast and colorectal cancer metastasis, the involvement of lncRNAs in cervical cancer is just beginning to be studied. In the present study, we examined the expression and the functional role of <I>HOTAIR</I> in cervical cancer. <I>HOTAIR</I> expression was determined in cervical cancer tissues (n=111) and corresponding normal tissues (n=40) by using real-time polymerase chain reaction, and its correlation with clinical parameters and prognosis were analyzed. To determine the effect of <I>HOTAIR</I> knockdown and overexpression in cervical cancer cell lines, we used the CCK-8 assay, wound healing migration and Matrigel invasion assay. The expression level of <I>HOTAIR</I> in cervical cancer tissues was higher than that in corresponding non-cancerous tissues. High <I>HOTAIR</I> expression correlated with lymph node metastasis, and reduced overall survival. A multivariate analysis showed that <I>HOTAIR</I> was a prognostic factor for predicting cervical cancer recurrence. Knockdown of <I>HOTAIR</I> reduced cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in cervical cancer cell lines. Moreover, <I>HOTAIR</I> regulated the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor, matrix metalloproteinase-9 and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related genes, which are important for cell motility and metastasis. Therefore, <I>HOTAIR</I> may promote tumor aggressiveness through the upregulation of VEGF and MMP-9 and EMT-related genes. These findings indicate that <I>HOTAIR</I> may represent a novel biomarker for predicting recurrence and prognosis and serve as a promising therapeutic target in cervical cancer.</P>

      • GO-19 : Synergistic effect of COX-2 inhibitor on paclitaxel-induced apoptosis in the human ovarian cancer cell

        In vitro studies have revealed that treatment of various human cancer cell lines with specific cyclooxygenase inhibitor regulates apoptotic cell death. It is currently proposed that the combination of celecoxib (COX-2 inhibitor) with paclitaxel improves the efficacy of cancer treatment. Three ovarian cancer cell lines, OVCAR-3, SKOV3 and A2780, were exposed to paclitaxel and celecoxib. Cell viability was evaluated using a cell counting kit-8 assay. Apoptosis was evaluated using Annexin-V/7-AAD staining and cellular DNA fragmentation ELISA. Caspase-3 was examined by the Caspase-3 Colorimetric Assay kit. Caspase-9 and cleavage of poly ADP-ribose polymerase were determined by western blotting. Expression of nuclear factor-κB was assessed using Trans AM kits and immunofluorescence. Vascular endothelial growth factor and Akt activation were studied by RT-PCR and western blotting. A combination of celecoxib with paclitaxel augments anticancer effects more efficiently than paclitaxel alone as evidenced by decreased cell viability and enhanced apoptosis in OVCAR-3, SKOV3 and A2780 cells. Pretreatment with celecoxib also increased activation of caspase-9, -3 and cleaved PARP following paclitaxel-treatment. NF-κB activity assay revealed that activation of NF-κB induced by paclitaxel is downregulated by celecoxib. We also noted that celecoxib inhibited paclitaxel induced VEGF expression. Furthermore, combining celecoxib and paclitaxel inhibited phosphory-lation of Akt. OVCAR-3 cells were sensitized to paclitaxel-induced apoptosis by celecoxib through downregulation of NF-κB and Akt activation, suggesting that celecoxib may work synergistically with paclitaxel to inhibit different targets and ultimately produce anticancer effects. Combining celecoxib with paclitaxel may represent a anti-ovarian cancer strategy.

        Kainic acid (KA), an agonist for kainate and AMPA receptors, is an excitatory neurotoxic substance. Vitamin E such as alpha-tocopherol and alpha-tocotrienol is a chain-breaking antioxidant, preventing the chain propagation step during lipid peroxidation. In the present study, we have investigated the neuroprotective effects of alphatocopherol and alpha-tocotrienol on KA-induced neuronal death using organotypic hippocampal slice culture (OHSC). After 15h KA treatment, delayed neuronal death was detected in CA3 region. Alpha-tocopherol and alpha-tocotrienol increased cell survival and reduced the number of TUNEL-positive cells in CA3 region. These data suggest that alpha-tocopherol and alpha-tocotrienol treatment have protective effects on KA-induced cell death

        An Increasing Trend of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Korea and the Clinical Implication of the Biomarkers to Determine Disease Activity and Treatment Response in Eosinophilic Esophagitis

        Background/Aims The epidemiology and pathogenesis of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) remain unclear in Asian countries. We investigated clinicopathological characteristics and diagnostic trends of EoE, and evaluated 3 tissue biomarkers for correlation with disease activity and treatment response in Korean patients with EoE. Methods We retrospectively reviewed 25 271 esophageal biopsies performed during upper endoscopies between 2006 and 2017. We diagnosed EoE based on ≥ 15 eosinophils/high-power field (HPF) and, symptoms of esophageal dysfunction. We performed immunohistochemical analysis for tryptase, eosinophilic derived neurotoxin (EDN), and eotaxin-3. Results We diagnosed EoE in 72 patients (53 men and 19 women; mean age, 46.2 years) with presenting symptoms of, dysphagia (15.3%), epigastric pain (31.9%), and heartburn (30.6%). The diagnostic rate of EoE considerably increased between 2006 and 2017, from 0.29 diagnoses to 7.99 diagnoses per 1000 esophageal biopsies (P < 0.001). The mean peak eosinophil count (PEC) was 56.0 (± 77.8)/HPF. Whereas the EDN (rho = 0.667, P < 0.001) and eotaxin-3 levels (rho = 0.465, P < 0.001) correlated with PEC, tryptase and PEC were weakly correlated (rho = 0.291, P = 0.013). EDN (rho = 0.279, P = 0.017), and tryptase (rho = 0.279, P = 0.033) correlated with the inflammatory score of Eosinophilic Esophagitis Endoscopic Reference Score. Immunohistochemical analysis and changes in tryptase, EDN, and eotaxin-3 levels were associated with histologic and endoscopic improvements. Conclusions EoE incidence considerably increased during the 12-year period, regardless of endoscopic esophageal biopsy rate. Tryptase, EDN, and eotaxin-3 levels in esophageal biopsy specimens could be promising biomarkers for disease activity, symptom, and endoscopic response in Korea.

        Selective delivery of PLXDC1 small interfering RNA to endothelial cells for anti-angiogenesis tumor therapy using CD44-targeted chitosan nanoparticles for epithelial ovarian cancer

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Angiogenesis plays an essential role in the growth and metastasis of tumor cells, and the modulation of angiogenesis can be an effective approach for cancer therapy. We focused on silencing the angiogenic gene PLXDC1 as an important factor for anti-angiogenesis tumor therapy. Herein, we developed PLXDC1 small interfering siRNA (siRNA)-incorporated chitosan nanoparticle (CH-NP/siRNA) coated with hyaluronic acid (HA) to target the CD44 receptor on tumor endothelial cells. This study aimed to improve targeted delivery and enhance therapeutic efficacy for tumor anti-angiogenesis. The HA-CH-NP/siRNA was 200 ± 10 nm in size with a zeta potential of 26.4 mV. The loading efficiency of siRNA to the HA-CH-NP/siRNA was up to 60%. The selective binding of HA-CH-NP/siRNA to CD44-positive tumor endothelial cells increased by 2.1-fold compared with that of the CD44 nontargeted CH-NP/siRNA. PLXDC1 silencing by the HA-CH-NP/siRNA significantly inhibited tumor growth in A2780 tumor-bearing mice compared with that in the control group (<I>p</I> < .01), and mRNA expression of PLXDC1 was significantly reduced in the HA-CH-NP/siRNA-treated group. Furthermore, treatment with HA-CH-NP/siRNA resulted in significant inhibition of cell proliferation (<I>p</I> < .001), reduced microvessel density (<I>p</I> < .001), and increased cell apoptosis (<I>p</I> < .001). This study demonstrates that HA-CH-NP/siRNA is a highly selective delivery platform for siRNA, and has broad potential to be used in anti-angiogenesis tumor therapy.</P>
