The purpose of this study was analyze children's Physical Fitness and basic rate by observing the change in the heart rate of the 1230 children of five of six years of age. Following conclusions were obtained The muscular strength was relatively low according to places. And the muscular strength of boys was higher than that of girls. The flexibility of girls was higher than that of boys according to places and sexes. The muscular endurance, power, balance and agility of boys were higher than those of girls according to places and sexes. Thus the development of physical fitness was improved with their ages, the physical fitness for physique seemed rather low. So the programs of physical plays for children's physical fitness ought to be developed and physical play showed to be done at kindergarten school.

Background: The sigmoid septum described an anatomical variation in the contour of the left ventricular outlet. It is related to degenerative change with aging. We observed clinical significance of sigmoid septum in Korean. Methods: Echocardiographic examination was performed in 434 patients. Sigmoid septum is defined as discrete bulging of the proximal interventricular septum with that thickness is greater than 1.3cm or the thickness is grater 1.5 times than adjacent mid interventricular septum in apical 3 chamber view. Result: The incidence of patient with sigmoid septum(septum patient) is 24.8% (male 8.4%, female 16.3%) . The incidence increases with age and is more common in women. The patients with sigmoid septum were compared with targeted groups, there was no significant difference in blood pressure between them, but in height and weight, the former were lower. (p<001, p<03). In the patients with sigmoid septum, weight and the surface area of a body have an opposite correlation with increase of age (p<03, r=-0.34) (p<04, r=-0.31) , but no decrease of height was found according to age increase (p=0.47, r=-0.11) The main reason patients with sigmoid septum ask echocardiolography and its clinical symptoms were abnormal results of previous electrocardiography and/or usual chest pain. Compared with control group, interventricular septal thickness is larger in septum patients (p<001). The thickness of interventricular septum located in subaortic left ventricular outflow tract is 1.6±0.3cm. There is another web like structure that continued from interventricualr septum to anterior free wall of left ventricle and the width is 1.6±0.4cm. A sign of insignificant obstruction due to left ventricular outflow was observed from three sigmoid septum patients. Conculusion: Septum patient is largely found in older age group and the body weight and body surface area are lower than control group. The body weight and body surface area are opposite correlation with age. So sigmoid septum is considered as structural change by weight reduction with aging. It is assumed that septum patients are related with asymptomatic ischemia because they have more abnormal ECG finding such as T wave inversion on precordial leads or standard leads, nonspecific ST-T change, LBBB etc. Sigmoid septum is not only proximal interventricular septal bludging but also another web like structure continuing to anterior wall of left ventricle.

<P>Despite of the increasing evidence that oxidative stress may induce non-apoptotic cell death or autophagic cell death, the mechanism of this process is unclear. Here, we report a role and a down-stream molecular event of Atg5 during oxidative stress-induced cell death. Compared to wild type (WT) cells, Atg5-deficient mouse embryo fibroblasts (Atg5-/- MEFs) and Atg5 knockdown HT22 neuronal cells were more resistant to cell death induced by H2O2. On the contrary, Atg5-/- MEFs were as sensitive to tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha and cycloheximide as WT cells, and were more sensitive to cell death triggered by amino acid-deprivation than WT MEFs. Treatment with H2O2 induced the recruitment of a GFP-LC3 fusion protein and conversion of LC3 I to LC3 II, correlated with the extent of autophagosome formation in WT cells, but much less in Atg5-deficient cells. Among stress kinases, ERK1/2 was markedly activated in Atg5-/- MEFs and Atg5 knockdown HT22 and SH-SY5Y neuronal cells. The inhibition of ERK1/2 by MEK1 inhibitor (PD98059) or dominant negative ERK2 enhanced the susceptibility of Atg5-/- MEFs to H2O2-induced cell death. Further, reconstitution of Atg5 sensitized Atg5-/- MEFs to H2O2 and suppressed the activation of ERK1/2. These results suggest that the inhibitory effect of Atg5 deficiency on cell death is attributable by the compensatory activation of ERK1/2 in Atg5-/- MEFs during oxidative stress-induced cell death.</P>

매운맛 선호도가 사람의 말초혈액에서 분리한 면역세포 활성에 미치는 영향

고추의 매운맛 성분 capsaicin의 생체에 미치는 영향에 관한 기초 정보을 확보하기 위해, 사람을 대상으로 생체방어기구의 활성화 측면에서 검토하였다. 매운맛을 좋아하는 사람과 싫어하는 사람을 대상으로, 매운맛에 대한 선호도의 차이가 면역세포의 활성 정도에 어떤 영향을 미칠수 있는지를 조사하였다. 먼저, 각 조사대상자의 혈액으로부터 혈청을 분리하여 IgG, IgM, IgA 함량을 ELISA로 측정하였다. 각 조사대상자의 말초혈액으로부터 B 임파구 및 T 임파구를 분리하여, 각 임파구 특이적 유사분열 촉진 물질(mitogen)인 phytohemagglutinin, Concanavalin A, Staphylococcus typhimurium 자극에 따른 임파구의 증식능을 측정하였다. NK세포 활성은 (15)^Cr으로 표지한 종양세포에 대한 세포독성으로 나타내었다. 혈청 IgM 수준은 매운맛 선호 정도에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았으나. IgG 및 IgA 수준은 매운맛 선호도가 높은 그룹에서 약간 높은 경향을 보였다. 임파구의 증식정도는 mitogen 처리를 하지 않았을 때의 증식능과 mitogen 자극 후의 증식능을 비교한 경우, 매운맛 선호도가 높은 군의 mitogen-induced 증식능은 B 임파구 및 T 임파구 모두 비선호군의 증식능보다 약 2~3배 정도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, NK세포 활성은 매운맛 비선호군이 선호군보다 높았다. 이들 결과들은 매운맛을 선호하는 식습관을 지닌 사람과 그렇지 않은 사람에게 있어서 생체내로 침입하는 항원성 물질에 대한 방어작용을 위한 생체내 면역반응에 차이가 있을 수 있음을 시사하는 것으로 사료된다. The effect of hot taste preference on selected immune responses was investigated in human peripheral immunocompetent cells. Human lymphocytes and natural killer(NK) cells were prepared at a concentration of 2×10^6 cells/ml in RPMI-1640 containing 10% fetal bovine serum. Lymphocytes proliferation was determined with the [³H]-thymidine pulse for 18hrs after concanavalin A, phytohemagglutinin, Salmonella typhimurium mitogen, or media alone. NK cell activity was measured by cytolysis of (51)^Cr-labeled target cells K562. Serum antibodies levels such as IgM, IgG, IgA were also measured by ELISA method. There was no difference of serum IgM level among the groups, but IgG and IgA levels were greater in the group with hot taste preference than those of the group without hot taste preference. In lymphocytes of the group with hot taste preference there was a greater mitogen-induced lymphocyte proliferative responses compared to the group without hot taste preference. In addition, NK cell activity in group with hot taste preference was lower than that of the group without hot taste preference. These results suggest that the eating habit of spicy food containing hot components may affect immune status by modulating selective immunocompetent cells function.
