        급성기 족관절 염좌 환자의 봉약침 시술 효과에 대한 임상적 연구

        Objectives : This study was to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of Bee Venom acupuncture therapy for acute ankle sprain. Methods : From September 1st, 2005 to December 31st, 2005, the 60 patients who had visited Conmaul oriental medical hospital with acute ankle sprain were sampled into 2 groups for this study; one group for the bee-venom acupuncture therapy combined with needle acupuncture therapy and the other group for needle acupuncture therapy only at least 3 times respectively. Both group had been treated with same additional infrared lamp, physical therapy and ankle supporter during the whole treatment period. Among 60 patients, 20 participants satisfied the whole inclusion criteria. To estimate the efficacy of treatments, Numerical Rating System(NRS) and Ankle-Hindfoot Scale(AHS) were applied before 1st and 4th treatment. Each score results were analysed and compared by Mann-Whitney test and Wilcoxon signed rank test with the level of 5% significance. Results : The NRS score in bee-venom acupuncture therapy group was increased significantly and the AHS score in bee-venom therapy group was decreased significantly compared to each of single acupuncture therapy group(P<0.01). The score change comparisons between the two groups had no significance before and after the treatment. Conclusion : Both bee-venom acupuncture therapy and single acupuncture therapy were effective to treat the acute ankle sprain. but there were no significant data to prove that bee-venom acupuncture therapy is more effective than single acupuncture therapy.         퇴행성 슬관절염 환자에서 근육 내 봉독약침과 피내 봉독약침의 효능 비교연구

        Objectives : This study was designed to compare the effects on Korean Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(KWOMAC), 36-Items Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36), Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Nine Point Scale between ‘Intramuscular Bee Venom Herbal Acupuncture’ and ‘Intracu- taneous Bee Venom Herbal Acupuncture’ in knee osteoarthritis patients for 4weeks. Methods : All the voluntary subject were diagnosed as knee osteoarthritis. Patients were randomly assigned either to two groups : Intramuscular bee venom herbal acupuncture treatment group(IM-BV group) or Intracutaneous bee venom herbal acupuncture treatment group(IC-BV group). The IM-BV group received bee venom herbal acupuncture intramuscularly on muscles closest to the pathologic site on ultrasonography. The IC-BV group received bee venom herbal acupuncture intracuta- neously on LE110, LE201, ST35, ST36 and LR8. Bee venom herbal acupuncture was applied twice a week for 4 weeks by an oriental medical doctor at Kyung-hee Oriental Medical Hospital. Both groups were checked of pathologic site by ultrasonography before treatment and follow up after four-week treatment. The patients were assessed by KWOMAC and SF-36 before and after four-week treatment. The changes in patients’ pain was measured by VAS before treatment and after one-, two-, three- and four-week treatment. The patients’ overall treatment outcome assesment was measured by Nine Point Scale after four-week treatment. Results : The results were as follows ; 1. The IM-BV group showed significant improvement on total, pain, stiffness and physical function in KWOMAC, and the IC-BV group showed significant improvement on total and physical function in KWOMAC after 4weeks compared to the pre-treatment. In KWOMAC, the IM-BV group showed more improvement on average compared to the IC-BV group, but there were no significant difference bet- ween two groups. 2. The IM-BV group showed significant improvement on VAS after one-week treatment. The IC-BV group showed significant improvement on VAS after two-week treatment. But there were no significant dif- ference between two groups. 3. The IM-BV group showed significant improvement on physical functioning(PF) and bodily pain(BP) in SF-36, and the IC-BV group showed significant improvement on vitality(VT) and bodily pain(BP) in SF-36 after 4weeks compared to the pre-treatment. But there were no significant difference bet- ween two groups. 4. 88.2% of IM-BV group and 93.3% of IC-BV group graded their improvement as ‘Fair’ or better on Nine Point Scale. But there were no significant difference between two groups. Conclusions : This study suggests that in the treatment of knee osteoarthtitis patients, effects of ‘In- tramuscular Bee Venom Herbal Acupuncture’ were not different from ‘Intracutaneous Bee Venom Herbal Acupuncture’ statistically. But both treatment showed effects on pain and physical function in knee osteo- arthtitis patients.

        봉독약침이 collagen 유발 관절염에 미치는 진통효과 및 그 기전 연구

        Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate the analgesic effect and its mechanism of bee venom acupuncture on collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) rats. Methods : Bee venom (1 ㎎/㎏) was subcutaneously punctured into Choksamni (ST36) of CIA. Analgesic effect was evaluated by using the tail flick latency (TFL). Opioid and α2-adrenergic neurotransmitter system were examined by naloxone as an opioid receptor antagonist and yohimbine as α2-adrenoceptor antagonist prior to bee venom acupuncture. Results : The results were as follows; 1. The TFL for the CIA rat was decreased as time went by. 2. The TFL in CIA rat was increased in bee venom acupuncture group compared with control group (no treatment). 3. Analgesic effect of bee venom acupuncture was not abolished by naloxone pre-treatment in the CIA rat. 4. Analgesic effect of bee venom aqua-acupuncture was abolished by yohimbine pre-treatment in the CIA rat. 5. Two weeks bee venom acupuncture had the continous analgesic effect for 4 weeks. Conclusions : Bee venom acupuncture has an analgesic effect on the CIA rat and has an antinociception mediated by α2-adrenergic system.

        봉약침치료(蜂藥鍼治療)의 퇴행성슬관절염(退行性膝關節炎)에 대한 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察)

        Objective : The study was performed to evaluate the effect of treatment for Osteoarthritis of knee joint by using Bee Venom Acupuncture that is well known for anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Methods: We investigated 50 cases of patient with Osteoarthritis of knee joint from 1st July 2001 to 31st December 2002, 50 cases of patient with Osteoarthritis in knee joint treated at the department of acupuncture & moxibustion of Kyung-Won University Oriental Hospital were randomly selected for two group. One group was treated by Bee Venom Acupuncture therapy, the other group was treated by Filiform Acupuncture therapy. We studied nine-point scale and improvement degree of the grade of clinical symptoms. Results: 1. In the results of treatment, 88% were above "Good" of Bee Venom Acupuncture and 68% in Filiform Acupuncture . 2. In the nine-point scale. Bee Venom Acupuncture was more effective than Filiform Acupuncture. 3. In the improvement degree of the grade of clinical symptoms. Bee Venom Acupuncture was more effective than Filiform Acupuncture. Conclusions: In the treatment of Osteoarthritis of knee joint. Bee Venom Acupuncture can be regarded as more effective treatment than Filiform Acupuncture in the clinical practice. This is expected to be available for clinical use.

        농도 차이에 따른 腎兪(BL23)․大腸兪(BL25) 봉독약침이 백서의 신경병리성 동통모델에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the effects of bee venom acupuncture at Shinsu(BL23) and Daejangsu(BL25) on neuropathic pain induced by tibial and sural nerve injury in rats. Methods : Neuropathic pain model was made by partial resection of tibial and sural nerve. Three weeks after the neuropathic surgery, bee venom acupuncture was firstly injected at BL23 and BL25, then we measured withdrawal responses induced by von Frey filament and acetone stimulation. Bee venom acupunctures were injected 6times on every 2days. Measurement of withdrawal responses were conducted on the same days. After bee venom acupuncture injection, expression levels of c-Fos, nocieptin and KOR-3 were observed through using immunohistochemistry. Results : In this experiment, bee venom acupunctures at BL23 and BL25 decreased levels of withdrawal responses induced by von Frey filament and acetone stimulation respectively. In addtion, expression levels of c-Fos, nociceptin and KOR-3 in central gray part of brain in rats were decreased by bee venom acupuncture. Conclusions : These results imply that bee venom acupuncture was useful to treat patients with neuropathic pain, and related mechanisms were involved in opioid and their receptors such as nociceptin and KOR-3.

        봉약침(蜂藥鍼) 시술후(施術後) 체표온도(體表溫度) 변화(變化) 및 신체반응(身體反應)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)

        Objective: This study was done to observe the effects on the thermal changes and side effects of Bee Venom acupuncture. The objectives are as follows; If there are remarkable local thermal changes between pre and post Bee Venom acupuncture therapy on D.I.T.I. or not. If there are those, we examine how long it' s changes are maintained, what is the adequate interval on Bee Venom acupuncture therapy, and what the reactions in a local or whole body are on that therapy. Methods: To study the local thermal changes in Bee Venom acupuncture therapy, D.I.T.I. was used. Determination of this analysis periods are pre and post-therapy(5 minutes, 1 hour, 1day,2days, 3days, 5days and 7days later). The study group was divided into two groups. One was BV group(N=19), another was NS(Normal Saline) group. The Bee Venom acupuncture was injected by 0.2ml divided into 0.05ml at the Fengmen(風門:12), Feishu(肺兪:B13), Fufen(附分:B41), Pohu(魄戶: B42) 4 points. Then, in order to analyze the clinical form, we have observed responses of 23 students whenever we checked the thermal changes of their after performing. Results: The following results were obtained. 1. In BV group, there was a significant dermatothermal difference between pre and post therapy. That difference was most remarkable in post-therapy 1 hour to lday, and was not remarkable in post-therapy 5-7days later. 2. There was no significant dermatothermal changes at NS group, but BV group had remarkable changes between operated and non operated area in post-therapy 1hour, 1day, 2days. But there was none 7 days later. 3. Among the physical reactions after Bee Venom acupuncture therapy, operated-area pain, itching, pain on moving and fatigue sign most appeared until post-therapy 3days. Itching and fatigue sign appeared until post-therapy 7days. 4. In comparison the dermatothermal changes with the physical reactions, the decrease of { CT = (Rt Temperature -Lt. Temperature) / Rt. $Temperature{\times}100$} and the disappearance of physical reactions were about the same.

        경항통(頸項痛)에 봉약침요법(蜂藥針療法)이 미치는 영향(影響)

Conclusion : As a result of thorough investigation, we could come to a conclusion that Bee-venom Acupuncture Group might have a notable effect on VAS and clinic grade.

        교통사고 후 편타성 손상에 대한 침치료 및 봉독약침치료의 유효성 평가

        Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Acupuncture and Bee-venom acupuncture for patients with chronic whiplash injury. Methods : Subjects were voluntarily recruited by newspapers and internet. Acupuncture(Eo-Hyeol Bang) and Bee-Venom Acupuncture were performed two times a week for 4 weeks. The patients' symptoms were assessed before, after 4 weeks of treatment by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Medical Outcome Study(MOS) 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36) Results : VAS score was significantly improved after 4 weeks(p<0.05) compared to the pre-treatment. There were significant changes in physical functioning(PF), Social functioning(SF), role-physical(RP), role emotional(RE), mental health(MH), bodily pain(BP) score of SF-36 after 4 weeks(p<0.05), but there were no significant changes in vitality(VT), general health(GH) score of SF-36. Conclusion : This study suggests that Acupuncture(Eo-Hyeol Bang) and Bee-Venom Acupuncture can be applicable to improve symptoms in patients with chronic whiplash injury.

        BV Partner 개발을 위한 임상적 연구

        Objective : This study was performed to examine the Herbal Acupuncture decrease the side effect of Bee Venom. Methods: We treated Bee Venom and various Herbal Acupuncture mixed Bee Venom using double blind test to 70th health youth, and checked pain, edema size, CBC, Serum biochemistry and Thermography. Results: 1. Herbal Acupuncture made by Morus bombycis Koidzumi showed good results to decrease the side effect of Bee Venom than any other Herbal Acupuncture. 2. We examined CBC, ESR and Serum biochemistry before and after treated. Special change was not showed. 3. We observed the pain and edema after treated Bee Venom and Morus bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture mixed Bee Venom. We knew that Morus bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture was decrease the pain and edema due to Bee Venom. 4. According to these clinical studies, Morns bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture has a possibility to be a good partner of Bee Venom.
